Of course it’s heavy, it’s cast iron.

Very nice piece, works great, bakes amazing bread! It weighs 13 lbs, you don’t want to drop this thing on a foot, not sure what people expect who claim it’s heavy, all cast iron is. That’s what makes it cook so well. But it’s built for life, and very nice looking.

Well made, and looks to last, but the lid, even with its weight, does not fit perfectly and moves at high heat allowing it to vent.... the point of this type of pot is Not to vent. Only have used once so far, but happened twice over several hours
