Great Set of Cast Irons!
By Colton Braun on Reviewed in the United States on October 28, 2018
So I bought these when I moved into my first apartment and I couldn't be happier. I've heard through the years that a good set of cast iron skillets will last generations and boy do I hope so. I got these over the Lodge ones mostly due to price. $30 for 3 of them? I'll take that deal any day. The smaller one is great for frying littler things like an egg for an egg sandwich, peppers and onions for one cheesesteak, garnish, etc. The little guy heats up FAST so it's ready almost immediately. The other 2 bigger ones are more like the size of your typical non-stick pans, great for cooking for 1-2 people. It doesn't come with a 12" but the ones I've seen in stores are a little too big for what I need it for. They came pre-seasoned, but I wanted to season them anyway. I just fried up a pound or 2 of bacon, ate the bacon (lol), then covered the pans in bacon grease and baked them @ 350 for an hour or two. The next day they were still sticky so just be careful how thick you lay on your oil. I just baked them again and they were fine. I usually just wash them out with steel wool and water, dry them with a towel, put them back on the burner and turn it on to make sure all the moisture is evaporated. Then I use a paper towel covered with Olive Oil to lightly recoat the pans. Keep up good habits with them and they're as non-stick as my actual non-stick pans. GREAT starter set for someone looking to get into cast iron. The food tastes great, they're exceptionally durable, and the 3 sizes are perfect for cooking for a few. Plus you can use them in the oven! I love these things and so glad I got into it. The ONLY drawback I can see is that the handles get reallllllll hot, so don't forget to wear an oven mitt, use a towel, or buy those silicon handle covers they sell here on Amazon...basically it's a non-issue bc there are so many ways to fix that problem!

Smooth the cooking surface before seasoning and using
By Jji910 on Reviewed in the United States on March 22, 2020
Feels very cheap. Very rough finish have tried using and seasoning several times and everything sticks. Going to take a wire brush to the inside to smooth everything and hopefully it will be smooth.
