Moka Pot 6 Cup, Stovetop Espresso Maker

I received this item and was excited to used it. While I was using it for the first time I noticed water leaking around where the two halfs screw together. I figured it was due to not tightening or maybe some material in the threads. The next time I used it I made sure to clear any coffee/residue from the threads and screw it together nice a tight. Once the water started boiling water I noticed water coming out at the same spot. How can this be? As I started looking closer I noticed damage to the wall of the bottom chamber and realized water is coming through the wall of the chamber when the pressure increases as the boiling process takes place…..I immediately remove it from the head and call the number listed for customer support. Here comes the second part of the may complaint and the real reason I am giving 1 star. The coffee gator rep that I spoke with told me that I do have a one year warranty from the date of purchase. This would fall under a full refund or replacement…..great!!!! This is what I would expect. She then tells me that since this problem is occurring in the first 30 days that they cannot do anything for me and I would have to contact Amazon….What????? I am talking to the company that made the defective product with a 1 year warranty and the do nothing!!!!!!!! I then have to call Amazon and talk to a robot. Unbelievable! Amazons fix is that I have to drop it off a UPS location and then I will get a refund. Thank God I am getting my money back. I will never buy another Coffee Gator product again……mainly due to the customer service. DO NOT BUY!!!!! DO NOT DEAL WITH COFFEE GATOR!!!!!
