Wonderful cat tree - value for money!
By Leslie from Long Island on Reviewed in the United States on September 1, 2020
So happy I chose this tree, and not the handmade one for 10 times the price! It is very nicely designed, and easy to put together even if you're not especially handy. And my cat has taken quite a shine to it, a couple of months after we bought it. My cat is a 4-1/2 year old male with plenty of pep, and about 11 pounds. He has taken to climbing the tree to sleep on the top level, which he fits into curled up into the meatloaf position. The manufacturer suggests you attach the tree to a wall, to keep it stable. Well I have not attached this one, but it is standing in a corner formed by a wall and a bookcase. It shakes a little when my cat leaps on it, but it doesn't sway and seems plenty sturdy for him to lie down on it, which is all he is doing at the moment. When he wants to scratch, he jumps down to use his corrugated cardboard scratcher. I have hopes, though, that he will grow to use the sisal posts on the tree eventually. He also seems uninterested in using the tree's carpet for scratching, but I consider that a plus, because he doesn't scratch any carpeting or upholstery anywhere else, and I hope he doesn't pick up the habit. I should just mention that although the tree seems sizable enough for our purposes, my cat literally takes up the whole top level when he is curled up as tightly as possible. And he is an 11 pound cat with long legs. He doesn't like to go into the house/tunnel, probably because of how we've placed the tree, as he is too big for it, and when he's tried going in there, he doesn't seem to have room so he can turn around and so has to back out of it. I suspect a smaller cat or cats would use the tree's multiple levels more than mine does, and would love the house/tunnel. I would recommend, if you have room to do so, experimenting with placement of the tree before you decide on a permanent location to see how your cat will get the most use out of it.

This Old Cat's Not Feeling It
By Usually Practical on Reviewed in the United States on January 7, 2020
For the price, this is a decent cat tree. It is easy to assemble and seems pretty sturdy. The ledges have enough room so it is easy to get from one level to another for my older cat. Maybe this would be good for younger cats. My old cat who usually still loves kicking and clawing around the scratching posts even in her old age is not feeling this one. She would rather have the taller posts on the top so she can scratch and kick around the posts in a high place. She can't reach under the upper ledges to even get a claw at the short posts at the top without sliding her body under the ledge. Also, the ropes are not the thick type, so I think that has something to do with her not using the posts, as well. She does occasionally sleep in the box and uses it to get to our window ledge. She is just not "feeling it" as a scratching post. I even sprayed it with a synthetic cat pheromone spray. She sees is at a stepping stool, if anything. Maybe I need to get another tree to replace the short posts with taller posts.
