Great Purchase
By Trevor Post on Reviewed in the United States on October 4, 2024
I have younger kids so "nice" furniture is not a wise investment for me. I'm so happy I bought this futon. I've used it to replace a ratty old loveseat that used to be in our living room. If you know what you're looking for, this is a really great piece of utility furniture. First of all the price is amazing for what you get - I couldn't see spending several hundred dollars for a piece of furniture that's just going to get dirty or treated like playground equipment by the kids. It was easy to build and is very easy to clean. It's comfortable enough to sit on to play a game or watch TV or a movie etc., folds down very easily, and looks pretty nice too. If I wasn't worried so much about spills or stains I'd maybe consider a piece of "forever" furniture, but for right now (and the next several years) having something functional that I'm not necessarily invested in is what I need, and this fits my purpose perfectly.

Good budget choice, but you get what you pay for...
By Bruno Y. on Reviewed in the United States on August 30, 2016
It's hard to beat this Convertible Futon for the price, but if you want something long term I'm not sure if I can recommend this product. We purchased it for our apartment 4 months ago and if you are tight on money it is a really good choice although there are a few setbacks. PROS: The price, it really is the biggest advantage of this product. The aesthetic design is quite good, definitely a lot better the options you find at Walmart or others cheap furniture places. Assembly is also quite straight forward: you unfold it, screw the feet, flip it, and you're done. The height is also pretty good and gives a cozier feeling to your place. CONS: Now we do have a few complaints about it. First, the build quality is good, but not perfect (you're getting what you paid for). It doesn't feel like it can accommodate 3 people, and seat has sunk a bit. One of the stitches that gives its tufting pattern has unraveled and now the seat is flat on one side. Also although you can use it without having a back wall supporting it, it feels very flimsy, making noises as you lean your back on it and might not withstand heavy people. It also has stained the back wall where we set it. I think the fabric has shed some ink on the wall as it rubbed on it. This was quite disappointing since our apartment is rented and we'll have to repaint the wall. The comfort level has also decreased since we bought it. At first the seat was quite comfortable, but 4 months later you can feel the springs depending on where you sit (mind you we're fairly light, I weigh 155 lb (70kg) and my wife about 110 lb (50 kg)). I don't know if I would have purchased this product if I had know that the comfort level would degrade after only 4 months. TL;DR: If you are really tight on money and just need something to sit on in your living room this may be a good choice. If you want something for the long run I suggest spending a little more and getting something more sturdy that will guarantee comfort for a long time.
