Wonderful

I had never owned an air fryer before or even had food cooked in an air fryer. But my son told me he had something cooked in one and that it was so healthful. So, okay, I thought, maybe that would be a good thing to have. I could make all kinds of things in there. I bought a griddle from this company & loved it and decided to also buy their air fryer as well. I loved the shape and the color and the kind of basket it had inside to hold the food. The buttons/words seemed easy to read. So I got it. First night I made fish (cod) and home-made fries (cutting up real potatoes). All turned out fantastic. It was amazing. So fast - no burning or under-cooking. Just followed the directions. And my meal turned out amazing which made me feel so good. I'm an older woman and sometimes with us older folks we've cooked certain things the same way for years. Or we only have maybe 10 things that we've cooked year after year. With these new devices at our disposal we can now feel like venturing out and trying new things. That's how it is with me anyway. It makes cooking fun and interesting again. Would I recommend this product. Heck Yes!!!! I love everything about it. Even the cleaning up - it's quick and easy. I'm so happy I got this. Even though I had never heard of the 'Dash' company before, I did a lot of research and their products all sound very good. Now that I have 2 of my own I can say I have found not one thing to dislike. I will order more of their products in the future. Looking forward to being a better cook and cooking healthier as well.

Nothing lasts anymore

There was a time when you could spend 80 dollars on a kitchen device, and eventually pass it on to your children. I have a blender that my parents bought when I was a kid. I am 52 years old, and am still using that blender. However, the air fryer I bought about 18 months ago has stopped working. The machine cannot recognize that the basket has been inserted, and therefore it won't come on. Which is better than what it was doing last week, when we took the basket out and the machine didn't know it was gone, and just kept right on blowing hot air. Now understand, that for the last 10 months or so we have been running it without that pretty cover on the basket, because simply taking the basket out and putting it in a few hundred times caused the cover to pop off. And you will notice that the knob that you use to set the time is gone too. That broke a few months back. It just popped off in our hands while trying to turn it one day. But at least this was a Dash Air Fryer, and not a Dash Electric Skillet. I bought one of those at the same time I bought this air fryer, and it didn't last six months before it almost caught on fire. Seems the Dash brand name has a problem with longevity, at least with complicated appliances. We also bought a rice cooker from Amazon made by Dash around the same time, and it is still a little champ that gets used multiple times a day. So, this fryer was the little engine that could - until it couldn't. While it worked, it was great. But now that it doesn't work, it gets to pollute a landfill somewhere with its presence. So then, when considering whether of not to purchase this product, take the price of the product and divide it by 18. The resulting number will be the cost per month of usage you will get out of this product. If that cost per month satisfies you, then by all means - press that buy now button. But for the record, the cost per month on that blender my parents bought when I was kid has got to be less than a penny by now.
