Great toy, great price

This was very cute. I wanted the other pink one for my 2 month old girl, but they were sold out. Glad I found this one, and only for 13 bucks (used but very good quality- no worries I washed it multiple times)which is great compared to the 26 dollar one. I read a lot of reviews about it being bad, not working with app, etc. But figured I'd take my chances since it was half priced and it has been working great. She loves the colors and the music puts her right to sleep. The app works just fine as well. Thinking about getting one for my God son too.

App is buggy and left me hanging tonight when I needed it. Could be great if app worked well.

I LOVED this product for the last few weeks. The app mostly worked well although it sometimes froze and I'd have to close out and reopen. Sometimes it stopped recognizing bluetooth and I'd have to turn bluetooth off and on again. Still, these were minor issues and were easy enough to manage. Then tonight my two week old was fussy and having a lot of trouble settling down. My older kids were also getting ready for bed so there was a lot of noise and commotion. I thought that maybe this was making it harder for the baby to relax. No problem, I thought, I will turn on the seahorse and play some white noise to drown out the other noises. She loved her seahorse the few times I'd introduced it to her so I figured it would help soothe her so she could fall asleep more easily. My husband got me my cell phone since you need to use the cell phone app to hear white noise (shall I also mention here that it is a little annoying that you absolutely MUST use the app to listen to any sounds besides music). When I opened the app, it was stuck. I figured it was just taking a while to load. When it finally loaded, the app did not even find the device (yes, it was turned on). I managed to get it to locate the device but then found that the seahorse was not paired eventhough it had been paired every other time I used the app--I even had my own personal settings and it had always worked before. I tried repairing. I turned bluetooth off and on. No luck. Just an error message that it didn't work (no kidding?). The bottom line is that we couldn't get it to pair even after multiple attempts. So we were left with a crying infant who wouldn't settle and two loud school-aged kids and a frustrated husband trying to troubleshoot a broken app. Not a good time for the device to suddenly fail on me. My husband has since uninstalled and reinstalled the app and got the seahorse working again. Seems like there may have been an update... By time he "fixed" it, an hour or so had passed I had long ago managed to get my crying infant to settle down and fall asleep (and the older kids in bed, too). Obviously, this is the last thing any parent wants or needs when they have a screaming baby who is struggling to settle down. Mom or Dad is trying to do whatever they can to help the baby calm down and relax and the tools need to just WORK. I guess one could argue that the seahorse wasn't strictly necessary but it may have helped a little if it just WORKED. The app needs to work consistently to be a good product. At this moment I cannot recommend it since it left me hanging. When they do an update, it needs to be more seamless for the user.
