Great Value - Great Product

I got this to help reduce dust and pet dander. I set it up and plugged it in at 5:30PM, went out for an appointment and got home at 8:30PM and my house smells completely odor free. It also keeps the air circulating very nicely in the house considering I have an open floor plan. Eureka makes good products and the price was right for such a powerful machine. It doesn't take up much space and looks attractive and is surprisingly well built and sturdy. I also really like the built in carry handle for easy movement when necessary. Considering the HEPA lasts around 12 months the replacement costs aren't high. The charcoal filter should be replaced every 3 months and Amazon sells a 4 pack for $16 or so. So far, so good.I would recommend this unit for anyone looking for an affordable, functional alternative to the more expensive ones on the market.

Fake Filter Replacement Indicator
By J F on Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2020
We bought two of these and also two Renpho’s during the August/September/October 2020 fires in California. The smoke was horrendous and the AQI from 9/9-9/16 was up between 150-275. LA is usually bad on a normal day, 60-120 AQI. So these Eureka’s seem to work pretty well. Yes, after a few days we got the infamous squeal on both of them. But our wasn’t loud at all and I think you could only hear it when it’s on low. Didn’t notice it much after a few days. We’ve had all four purifiers going nearly 24/7 since the fires, as anyone near them knows that you unfortunately get weeks of trail-off chemicals in the air even after the fires are out which is really unpleasant. We live in a 2bdrm apartment just 10mi north of downtown LA. They seem to function well. They effectively filter nearly all the smoke smells as well as many of the particulates. I will say however, I think the Renpho’s did most of the heavy lifting as they’re more sophisticated with 4 filter stages. And they tell you which filter to replace when it’s spent. With the activated carbon filter it also grabs ozone out of the air. Don’t be fooled ozone is horrendous for human and pet health despite the frenzy of ozone generating products on the market. Big city people are exposed to tons of it daily. So even after the fires are out, we’ll likely run these all the time, even without pets. The Eureka has the UV light for killing microbes. But thankfully you don’t have to turn it on as it has a separate button. These UV light generate ozone.🤦🏻‍♂️ My sole complaint with the Eureka (you get what you pay for) is that it also has an indicator light telling you when it’s time to replace the filter, however, it’s based on a timer, not on any sensors telling you when the filter is actually spent. That’s, worse than aggravating. First of all, you’re throwing out perfectly good filters and second of all, you’re spending more money supporting their filter business. It’s like the Brita water filters that light up when you should replace, but it’s only based on how many times you flipped the lid open and closed it to fill the pitcher.😩 I only figured this out because the two Eureka’s that we have are in different rooms with very different air demands. Ones in a kitchen and the other in a bedroom that is only used for sleeping. They both started blinking within a couple days of each other. But they both are still filtering perfectly. So I remove two stars for Eureka’s dishonesty. If you want to get the most out of the actual filters, you really need to track your area’s AQI and then also consider, pets, dust, etc. maybe even get an air quality monitor if you have the $$. *Lastly, I recommend, never put these on the floor but rather at least 18” off the floor, like on a small low table in the corner or on a coffee table. All the pictures have them on the floor. *if you run these on the floor, will will clog your filters probably 10x faster because of dust and hair, etc. All told, a great purchase for the $$, but beware the filter indicator light.
