A wonder teapot of infinit bliss!
By K.S. on Reviewed in the United States on December 27, 2016
The second this little wonder pot arrived in the mail, I gleefully tore the box open and have been using it ever since. The design is adorable, not in a cutesy childish way, rather classically adorable. I was worried it would look too bohemian but the blue and white has a classic look which is perfect for my old fashioned taste. The pot works exactly as marketed. It has a switch on the back that you flip and wait for the water to boil. Once it boils, it very handily shuts itself off, giving you the peace of mind knowing its safe (won't boil away) and that it will not be powered on 24/7. It heats water fantastically fast. I pour the water in, flip the switch, find my favorite mug and then try to make a decision of which of my teas to pick from (I may or may not have a million of them). By the time I have chosen my tea, the pot is already done and I can the enjoy the infinite bliss only a fresh cup of tea can provide! I took the pot to the office to share because our water service is gone. My coworkers love the pot so much that they now periodically bring me a gallon of water to contribute so that they can have hot tea/coffee/hot chocolate. That being said, I do recommend using filtered water - where we live the water is naturally "hard" meaning lots of minerals. Those minerals can build up in the pot and cause flaking and debris in the water on subsequent boils. Allow me to explain why I purchased this pot over any of the others available on Amazon. I spent days researching this, reading product reviews, going to forums and more. I am a little paranoid about heating anything up in plastic due to chemicals leaching into the water. with the Bella I have no such fears! She is made of glass and stainless steel at every portion that will come into contact with water. The Bottom has a stainless steel plate for heat, and a rod of stainless steel that goes up the inside side of the pitcher. because it Is glass and stainless it does have some weight to it. but definitely weighs less than my pressure cooker! it sits on a small base with a center thing that conducts heat into the pot. the disk doesn't get hot on the edges. and the area that surrounds it doesn't get hot allowing for ease of movement and no burns! (for this klutz a major concern). I am officially a huge fan and will definitely be buying this in future not only for myself but for anyone that could possibly need it! This teapot has truly changed my life and I don't know how I ever lived without it. I dream of a time where I can Have two of these bad girls (her name is Bella, I Decided she's a girl don't judge) so that I can have one for home. Its a wonderful gadget and absolutely perfect for its function.

Yes, there is plastic inside the kettle, and yes there is a plastic-chemical smell
By S. Blades on Reviewed in the United States on May 19, 2020
Okay, so I just received the 1.5L ceramic kettle with the pretty silver clover design. It's lovely, and I have to say that it works great. It's not too heavy when filled, holds 6 cups of water, and boils those 6 cups pretty quickly. I haven't experienced any cracks or leaking, and the spout works as it should. Also, the on/off switch works great, flipping itself off once the water is at boiling temp, which, for 6 cups of water, it does so in very little time. I've started it up 6 times now, just to make sure it works and to clear the PLASTIC smell from it. Yes. PLASTIC. Ugh. I really like this kettle, but I was under the impression that this didn't contain plastic on the inside. I seriously hope the plastic smell completely goes away in time because it's definitely there, just as others have mentioned in their reviews. There are questions about this and opposing answers about whether or not there is plastic inside this thing. Yes, there is. There is not only a plastic seal along the lid, as others have stated, but each metal rivet that connects the ceramic part of the kettle to the metal inside at the base includes a thin, clear plastic gasket for a total of 6 plastic rings. And yes, those plastic rings do, in fact, come into contact with the boiling water. They can't help but to - I mean, they're all along the bottom of the inside of the kettle. People who are saying there is no plastic either haven't bothered to closely inspect the inside base or they're blind. I will say that soapy water and a good scrub helped, as well as completely removing the plastic seal from the lid and giving it an even better scrub before replacing. There seemed to be some kind of oily residue left behind along that seal the first time I boiled water, but the soap removed it and it hasn't returned. Now, the smell is definitely much, much lighter after having boiled water it in several times, but it's still there when I stick my nose inside the kettle. I'm sensitive to these kinds of smells, though, and my husband says he doesn't smell anything. Another issue to note is how flimsy the base is. It's the thinnest possible plastic with absolutely no weight to it and scratches and scuffs all over it right out of the box. To say it's chintzy is an understatement. But it works. Everything works great. So I'll give this thing a chance and boil water a number more times to see if that plastic smell continues to dissipate because I do love the look and feel of this thing that much, and I've had a near impossible time finding a tea kettle that contains zero plastic parts without other risk factors such as being overly delicate, like the borosilicate glass ones, cracking, or leaking. Do I recommend it? Well, that all depends on how important it is that your kettle be completely void of all plastics in contact with the boiling water. If that is your concern, you'll have to skip this kettle. With that said, I notice that the box never says it's plastic-free, so I can't say that the company is being misleading, and the bits of plastic are rather minimal compared to others with the plastic viewing windows. Really quite torn about this one because the kettle itself is really nice! : (
