Best purchase ever! Have had this 1 year!
By Heather M. on Reviewed in the United States on December 17, 2019
I have had this vacuum for over a year now since Nov 2018, and this has been the best purchase ever. I literally run this thing 1 time a day, and sometimes 2 times a day, everyday, for the last year! We had a long-haired cat, so there is always fur. Our house is about 3000 sq ft, spread throughout 3 levels. We have dark hardwoods throughout our main floor, with many low pile area rugs. On the same level is a bathroom with tile and rugs, and a couple of bedrooms with a medium pile carpet. The vacuum moves freely throughout that level of my home, moving between hardwood, carpet, rugs, and tile with no issue! The only thing you have to watch for is cords and shoelaces. I solved that problem by tying some of my cords in a way where they don’t drag on the ground, or I use the boundary strips under some furniture pieces where I tuck the cords behind the strips. And don’t forget to pick up your shoes. But if it ever does get caught on a cord, cellphone charger, or shoelace, it has not damaged it; it simply causes the vacuum to get stuck and caught. I have found it easy to pull the item from the vacuum to “unwind” it. I empty the canister in between each “run”, although I have found that you can get away with 2 runs before you must empty, but it’s pretty full. It’s simple to empty, you dump it in the trash and use the provided brush tool to brush out the dust. My mom saw me doing it and thought what’s the point of having a robo vac if you have to do that, but I told her the 30 seconds it takes each day to empty the canister, is worth my time of not having to vacuum and sweet my 1000 square foot of floors on my first floor of my house. We also have another 1000 sq ft finished basement that we rarely use, but I carry it down there occasionally and let it run down there too. That floor is vinyl with area rugs, and again no issues, or moves between hard floor and low pile rug just fine. The only thing is bc the docking station is upstairs, I just have to go down and retrieve the vacuum after a few hours to bring it up to the charger docking station, but it’s not a big deal to me...still I love this thing so much, that I plan to get a second one to keep on that level of my house since my basement is a big room. Our third level is more bedrooms and bathrooms, which is again carpet and tile, these bathrooms have high pile rugs. It does sometimes have trouble going over the high pile rugs in the bathroom, but not where it has gotten stuck, it just usually bunches up the rug and pushes it to the side. So often I just pick up the rugs and set on the toliet so it can move around and vacuum in the bathroom better. On the carpets it always seems to collect more dirt and hair, probably bc my cat likes to lay there, so I typically only run it one time on the carpet and then need to empty the filter and remove any hair tangle from the vacuum brush. Also, I take apart the filter and clean it with mild soap and water once a quarter. So not every month as they suggest, but every few months. This seems to be find. I have replaced the filter a few times and bought a 12 pack of replacement filters and brushes for like $12 on Amazon. Have only had to use a few so far! Also since I use this every day, I don’t find that I have to regularly vacuum my area rugs or my hardwoods. It is just my husband and I, so many days we never even walk through out living or dining room, and the eufy is enough keep it maintained until it is time to mop. I do additionally still sweep in my kitchen with a broom as needed bc that is a high traffic area and there is food that can drop. Also the bedrooms that are carpet and also a high traffic area, I do still vacuum with my upright, but I found that having this Eufy supplementing my upright vac is a great help with all the pet hair! The noise level is not bad. It obviously had to make noise, but it is significantly quieter than my upright when you run it on the standard level, which I typically do. The max suction level is louder, but I usually only use that in our master bedroom if I want a deeper level clean on our carpet. Also sometimes it goes over larger things (such as a plastic ice crystal that fell off a Christmas garland or the shell of a cat nail) and does not pick them up (it sort of shoots them out behind it), but it’s not a big deal to me, bc I gets all the pet fur, human hair, dust, and dirt, which are the main things I want it to get. The rare things it can’t pick up, I can get myself. Bottom line is anyone who has pets, and a lot of open square footage, should get this! A couple hundred bucks for something that you will use every day is so so so worth it! I have never wrote a review this long, but that is how much I love and recommend this vacuum. I have lots to say about it bc I use it so much. I really do plan to eventually get a second one for another level in my home. Also I think this would make a great gift for someone who is “techy” and just enjoyed gadgets, or it would make a great gift from adult children to their mother, as this would save her a lot of time.

Good vac but has some issues
By Karen S on Reviewed in the United States on August 6, 2019
This is my second robovac. The first one's was an ILIFE and it's cliff sensors failed - it took a header under the stairway railing to the lower level and broke. So I decided to upgrade to something with a brush. I did my homework and the EUFY Robovac BoostIQ 30 looked about the best in class for the money. First off - this is a very good robovac. It cleans up hair and debris and does a nice job on area rugs. Actually, it also did a passable job on room carpet, I just didn't initially know it. However, it has a few issues I decided I couldn't live with. First off, it seems to head straight into corners of the room and continually get stuck. I would try to maneuver it out with the remote, but finally would have to pick it up and place it elsewhere. It would immediately head for another corner. This went on for awhile and then it would get back to the job at hand. So, minus for the vac - if I wanted to follow a vacuum cleaner around, I'd use one of the four or five uprights and canisters I have on hand. Second. Not once did it make it back to the dock without help. The dock was out in the open but it was like it just didn't want to go home, no matter how tired it was. Third - and this was the deal breaker - I came downstairs yesterday and it was off the dock and hanging over the lip of the top stair to the lower level. It stopped there, so the cliff sensors work fine. The problem is that I did not program it to run. I did not do anything to the remote but put batteries in it. I didn't even set the time because I only wanted to run it a few times a week when I was here since I'm paranoid about it going down the stairs. I shrugged and tried to put it back on the dock by setting it in front of the dock and hitting the home button and it DID NOT want to go on the dock - it was like a toddler throwing a tantrum. Finally, it went. I thought it odd that it was now orange and charging because I initially thought it somehow got off the dock and made a bee line for the stairs. I was wrong. Apparently, it cleaned all over the place, including a room I hadn't let it into before. I came downstairs this morning and it again was hanging over the top stair. I went online and found some sites where it became clear that this is an issue with this vac - it phantom schedules. It runs at midnight if you don't set the clock or schedule any time to run. There were a number of solutions - unplug it, take the batteries out of the remote and my favorite was put a piece of paper in front the the remote and hit a button until the machine beeps twice. This seemed like it was going to be an ongoing issue and became the deal breaker for me. I bought this to reduce stress, not induce stress. The thing is, it didn't do it for the first 9 days I had it. Anyway, it was still in the return window so it's on it's way back to AMAZON and I'll use the refund towards a vac with a little more sense. All that said, it is actually a fine vacuum if you don't mind it going willy nilly around the house with no set pattern. And as I said earlier, it cleaned the carpet in my spare room on one of it's phantom runs because the door was open (i had previously kept it out because there's stuff all over the place in there) and when I cleaned the dust bin before boxing it up I was amazed at how much it picked up. It's very quiet and it gets under a lot of things because it's not very tall. And the two barrier strips work well. I first made a box around the opening to the stairs and just weighted them down without taping them so I could pick them up later and it never crossed them. I did the same on the openings between the kitchen and the living room. Because it runs all over the place, I tried to do each room separately. The barriers work well as long as they are flat. What i've learned from my first two experiences with robo vacs is that I LOVE the job they do and I'll get another one, just a smarter one that has a plan when it works.

Great little robotic vacuum, and an essential tool for a multi-pet family

I've resisted getting a robo-vac since they first came out. They've always been too expensive in my mind for what they offered, and I was never able to see the value in having one when vacuuming the house once a week always seemed to be plenty. Well, that was before this past few years, when we got two cats and a dog. The amount of fur being shed was making area rugs bought in the last few months dingy and faded even with regular weekly vacuuming. And weekly is the best we manage. So I decided I was going to take the plunge and finally buy this model of robo-vac since the price was often very reasonable with the frequently-offered coupons. I've had it for two weeks now, and I'm a skeptic no more! The day it arrived, I fully charged the battery and ran it in just our living room, where we have a medium-pile 8 x 10 area rug. The bin was packed at the end of the run, and it took four more days of cleaning just that room on a full charge before the bin finally got to just 1/2 or 2/3 full. I would recharge the battery and run it separately in the rest of our ground floor, where it's all hardwood and much smaller / thinner area rugs, and that was better after just 2 runs. I now have the vacuum scheduled to run at 1 AM every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. I just pick up the stuff on the floor and move things like dining chairs or trash cans to maximize the floor coverage. This is just the right schedule, as it's keeping up with our pets shedding and the bin is moderately to mostly full. And on the weekends, I run it in our finished basement and the second-floor rooms where the pets spend much less time. Still have to use our canister vacuum for the smaller spaces where this robo-vac can't get, along with vacuuming the pet hair off the upholstery. But our once-a-week vacuuming time is now faster and more focused, instead of being the half-day chore it always was in the past. What I love most about this robo-vac is that it fits under all of our couches, dressers, and other furniture with a raised bottom, so those spaces that never got cleaned without pulling out the furniture (which was never for the big/heavy pieces) now actually get cleaned with the rest of the room. I was amazed when Puck (that's what we've named it :D) rolled right under my wife's dresser, clearing the space by what looked like a couple of millimeters. It wandered around under there for maybe 30 seconds and finally found its way back out with equal ease. It does get stuck sometimes on some of the furniture that has scalloped trim in the corners; mainly our living room couch. And I was really surprised when it got stuck under the side of our recliner in that room, so now I have to make sure that's positioned in a way where that won't happen during the nightly scheduled runs. And we have two doorways with thresholds that are just a smidge too high for it to climb up / down without getting a little stuck, but that's it as far as problems. If you're like me and need to run it frequently, you *must* make sure to empty the bin and clean the roller brush after every single run, and the side spinner brushes as stuff builds up where they snap onto the vacuum. The brush roller definitely tends to get a lot of hair wrapped around it, and that makes it run louder if not cleaned regularly. The included cleaning tool is great for this, as it includes a small razor-bladed section for quickly slicing through the hair buildup. Hopefully, Puck will last a good long time as long as I keep cleaning it regularly. I definitely prefer this kind of low-profile model to the more-typical thick-built ones that can't get under as much furniture. But if it ends up have reliability issues because of our more-frequent use, then I'll have to look into something like a Roomba model that's more user-serviceable. Nov 5, 2022 UPDATE: Puck is still running like a champ. I still get close to 90 minutes of run time on a charge, even when I have to stop and start him every 15-20 minutes to empty the bin when we clean a room that got skipped for a couple of weeks. Have only needed to do standard replacement of the filter, side brushes, roller brush, and brush guard as those parts wear out (generally every 2-3 months for the filter, 4-6 months for the other parts). The bin has definitely proved to be this vacuum’s biggest shortcoming, as it can fill to bursting after20 minutes with all the pet fur it picks up. This is true even in rooms we clean regularly, just because so much fur is shed by our three pets. When Puck does eventually wear out, we will be replacing it with a robovac that has a bin sensor and automatic emptying base. It’s still less work than regular vacuuming, but more “hand holding” that I want from a device that is otherwise so incredibly useful and that has made this chore much more thorough and bearable.

Hey folks. I bought this model of Eufy while on sale a little over six months ago, and have used it daily since. Thinking about buying one? Do it. No regrets here, and I wish I had purchased one when I first began thinking about it a year and a half ago. I live next to the Gulf Coast in Florida, and coastal living = constant sand. Fine, white quartz sand ends up in your home constantly regardless of how many rugs and floor mats you place at entranceways. Our home is completely tiled, and the powdery sand sticks to everything, so it’s a never ending battle keeping the floors clean. We used to sweep pretty much daily in the morning, and then use a hand vac around corners in the evening just to keep up with it. We also have one cat, a Great Pyrenees, and an English shepherd, so sweeping daily was necessary to keep fur from drifting into giant globs in corners and under furniture. After purchasing the Eufy, and charging it up, we no longer have to sweep every day. The eufy is simply fantastic at getting up all the pet fur and sand. Instead of sweeping every morning, I now stare off vacantly out the window while drinking my coffee, and the eufy sweeps for me. My five year old named our Eufy “Mumford” and we created a face cut out from a roll of white window cling vinyl (purchased the white vinyl window cling on amazon too- it’s meant for those Cricut machines) for the little guy. Mumford is now a treasured family member. For reference, my house is all tile and is about 1500 square feet. The eufy can clean our dining room, living room, kitchen, bathroom, and playroom on a single charge, but since it doesn’t map out the rooms, I do place it in one room at a time, and block it off or shut the door. It does fine if I don’t block it off, but takes longer to get the job done. Since I keep the common areas clutter free, it is no trouble running the eufy every morning. I have my kiddos pick up anything on the floor, and then we hit the button and go about getting breakfast ready. If you are messier, or have a lot of clutter in your home- a Eufy probably isn’t the answer. It can’t do a good job if it isn’t able to roam around freely to vacuum. It fits under all of our furniture, and maneuvers well around my oak dining tables and chairs. If your home is very large and multi level, and you don’t want to pay attention - you may want something that maps your home. Eufy bumps around haphazardly, and when you leave it on long enough and run it consistently, it does a great job. I do not run it when we aren’t home, and I do not run it at night when we are sleeping. The last thing I want is for one of the dogs or the cat to get sick, and then have eufy run over the mess. Eeew. If you have pets, don’t make that mistake. If your home is larger than 1500 square feet, you’ll likely have to clean different sections at a time maybe on different days or nights of the week. Customer service is fantastic. After six months of daily use, our unit had a malfunction. The bumper on the right side would stick, and our unit would spin constantly clockwise. I contacted Eufy, and they did some troubleshooting with me, and when that didn’t fix the problem, I was sent a brand new unit. They emailed me a free return label to ship my old one back to them at no charge. All in all this is an excellent and helpful product, and the company that makes it is reliable and true to the warranty. I know several people that own one and love it, and have recommended it to friends and family members. Buy one!!!!!!

EDIT 7/20/23: Unfortunately our unit took a nasty tumble into the basement a couple of months ago and never worked again. This was also our SECOND unit as the first one was replaced under warranty due to a wheel and motor issue. The second one's side brush motor stripped less than a year into its use, although we were using it daily, which is probably more than most people. The replacement is also not terribly difficult if you're handy. I will say that this thing lasted a bit over two years with daily use, which was great for the price I paid for it. If it hadn't taken the tumble, it would have lasted longer and it still would do a full cleaning cycle on a charge (although the cycles were getting a bit shorter). We have since upgraded to a G30 unit that could use boundary strips to avoid our third Eufy unit meeting the same fate. We were also gifted a second G30 without boundary strips for our upstairs. Original review: We've had ours for about two weeks now. Our apartment is a little over 1000 square ft and has both (faux?) wood floors and carpet. I was looking at getting a vacuum that was better on carpet anyway and the reviews looked promising. So far, it's been a tremendous quality of life inprovement. The first two runs I emptied a shocking amount of dust. We were seriously impressed with how much it picked up, and it did as great of a job on carpets as it did on the hard floors. I don't think I've ever had floors this clean. I appreciate that it can clean under most of our furniture. It's very easy to clean out and programming it with the remote is also straightforward. Eufy currently lives under our futon due to lack of wall space but it finds its way back without much issue. As some people have mentioned, it'll get stuck on (or drag around) loose cords, but it has less of an issue with the thicker ones than the ones that are phone charger sized. Eufy also has gotten stuck a few places: under the fridge (clearance issue - a friend who bought the same model at the same time also has this problem), brushes getting caught on loose threads from rugs (I just check these when I empty it out now), and occasionally loose clothing. Otherwise, it's pretty self-sufficient. It does bounce around to clean but we find that it gets the main room, both bedrooms and both bathrooms pretty thoroughly. It finds its way around the furniture and in between narrow passages (one of my biggest initial concerns) pretty well. I have been recommending that all of my friends get one now, especially since a friend and I bought ours at the same time. It's definitely worth it.

Update: I replaced the new brush and didnt hear the sound when it was on either the hardwood or the rug. However when it transferred between the hardwood and rug or vise versa I would hear the sound. I emailed Alexandra back and she asked for a video to hear it. They responded that they would send me a new eufy but to keep the old one because parts are still good on that one and I can change the parts out if I ever have to. She said they like to make it so there customers can switch out parts themselves if they break, which I like rather than sending it away and being with out it for weeks. There customer service went above and beyond what I expected. I will forever be a eufy customer. Orginal post-It does amazing on my hardwood floors. I have a beagle that sheds a ton and this vacuum helps me keep up. My husband makes a mess when cooking and it picks up all the stuff he drops, mostly flour from making pizza dough. I have had to call customer service twice since buying it and both times the people were amazing. Most recently I thought it was dying but Alexandra (the service rep) reassured me that she didnt think it was dying but instead just need a new brush because the bearings go bad over time. She directed me to their site to order a new one and sent me an email saying to let her know if it works and if not to email her. I emailed her that it worked and within an hour she emailed me back and said if anything changes to email her. I am so happy with this purchase and their customer service. It is easy to empty when it is full and doesnt make a mess. The replace filter and brushes are responsible priced. I dont think it very loud, as people I know have other brand and they are much louder. I could not be more happier with it. I just started working from home March of 2021 and now am able to run it every day. Prior to this I would only run it when I was home or if I locked it in a room without the dog, just because I didnt want the dog to have an accident and it run it over. The hard part at first was making sure all your wire were off the floor and right then you think you got them all, you realize you missed one because the eufy calls for help. Best investment ever and amazing customer service.

One year update: I bought my 2 Eufys Aug. 2019 and use them once a week or every two weeks and have come across some quirks. The most recent quirk is Eufy just stopping in the middle of a room with the blue light still on and no error beeps. Apparently, it stops for no reason. I hit the remote start and it continues its job. Another quirk is stopping and beeping with blinking light for some reason (keep your manual handy) and once was because of the front Pivot wheel not moving because of hair being wound around it. I popped the wheel off, cleaned out the hair, reset Eufy by pushing the reset button on the bottom and it then worked fine. Another quirk was getting to the stairs and for some reason couldn't turn around and started beeping. That time I just wiped the three sensors on the bottom and reset it and it was fine after that. One day, it just continually stopped for no reason that I could find. It just stops, no beeping and still fully charged. I just kept resetting it with the bottom reset button until it finally finished the room. That happened about 10 times that day. Over the winter, I had a stray cat decide she wanted to live with me, so now I have a cat with long hair and she sheds a lot. Eufy doesn't pick up large tufts of her hair from my rugs, so I use a hair mit on the worst spots on my rugs and then Eufy does a fine job on the rugs. Another tip, try using your magnet strips to divide up larger rooms. I ended up having to do that in my living room because otherwise it took forever for Eufy to hit every area. Now I divide it in half. When one half looks complete, I pick up Eufy and put it in the other half. That works well! Also, your magnet strips can be stuck to the side of your refrigerator for storage! I find that very handy. :) You really do need to clean Eufy between charges. I have my system broken down into Living room and kitchen. Clean and charge (about 4.5 hours), then the hallway, bathroom, bedroom. Clean it and charge. Then lastly, my office/sewing room. Clean it and charge. It takes only 5- 10 minutes to clean it between uses. I'm still thrilled I have these Eufys and have decided I will never be without a Robo Vac - ever. And hopefully Eufy will still be around when I need a replacement. I bought these partly because of the Anker name. I've bought other Anker products for years and they're always made well. End of update. I bought two of these yesterday with the Deal of the day and received them today. They both took about 3 hours to fully charge and then it was off to the races. One went downstairs and the other one upstairs. I left the Eufy downstairs in the basement to do its thing on low pile carpet and tile and went down to check on it periodically. Twice I found it stuck in strange places. One was on top of a small table base and the other was lodged next to my furnace. I'll just have to block those two areas next time. The one upstairs was in my kitchen for a good 45 minutes to an hour! OCD I'd say, but my kitchen is nice and clean. :) Rugs included. These do an excellent job with edge cleaning. The one in the kitchen miraculously followed the curves in the pedestal base on the table. Pretty cool. It also traveled over all my wood floor vent covers which is pretty impressive because they're pretty thick! It also fits under most of my furniture. I sent a Roomba back years ago because it wouldn't fit under my sofa, loveseat and tables. That made it useless for me. These fit under everything except a lowboy chest and 3 smaller tables in my living room...Swiffer will take care of those. The drop sensors worked perfectly at the stairs. It turned around instead of going down. The upstairs Eufy finished my kitchen, living room, entryway and was in the bathroom when the red light came on and is now charging. Both Eufys ran for the 100 minutes as stated in the manual. I emptied the upstairs bin twice, but only because I had stopped the Eufy to get it out of the kitchen and before I sent it to charge. The bin wasn't full either time, but had plenty of dirt and fuzz in it, so I'm happy with that! I decided I'm not programming a schedule because I don't need my house cleaned daily. It's just me here and no pets anymore, so I will manually turn them on once or twice a week. I did pick EVERYTHING up off my floors for this first cleaning, but that's just not ever going to happen again. It was a PIA and I could have vacuumed my entire house in the time it took to clear the floors. I'll leave the cords zip tied, but everything else is staying put next time. All that work defeats the purpose of having these. I am THRILLED TO DEATH with these though. Vacuuming is one of my least favorite chores. These will definitely be used weekly and I look forward to watching them work instead of me! Also, these are sooooo quiet. You can't even hear where they are in the same room as you if they're cleaning underneath something. I'm so glad I bought them and at an excellent price. The exorbitantly expensive robo vacs are just not feasible for me. Maybe if they had a 20 year life span, they would be, but they don't. I'm also not into controlling everything through a stupid app or WiFi. Don't need those and don't want those. I don't need NHS knowing when I'm vacuuming my house. These were worth every cent, IMO Great little vacs!
Not good with heavy dog shedding

Let me start out by saying that I am a huge Eufy fan. We have purchased five RoboVacs over the last five years, six if you count the one I gave my sister-in-law. We live on rural acreage with six people and two hairy as heck indoor/outdoor dogs in the house. The Eufys, I’m sure, are not designed for the kind of mess that gets tracked indoors here, but they handle it like champions! I’m so satisfied with Eufy, I don’t even look at other brands when I need another one. All are still up & running just fine, with our first battery replacement in our very first RoboVac 11 having happened this month. That said, I do have an issue with the most recent Eufy we purchased this month - the RoboVac 30. In the accompanying photos, you will see our 11 S on the left and the 30 on the right. Although the 30 seems to be a great model overall, it doesn’t handle heavy dog hair well. The opening into the 30’s debris tray is smaller than the other RoboVac models we have. You can see in the photos, the hair deposited in the debris tray was severely limited by the small opening. The hair clogged into the shape of the opening and the tray was only partially filled at the end of the battery charge. Further details: We run these two RoboVacs almost daily in the main living area (entry / living room / kitchen / dining areas all connected). The flooring terrain is wood and vinyl only (no carpets). Both RoboVacs pictured were running simultaneously throughout these areas. The hair is out of control right now because our one large dog (Anatolian, a livestock guardian) is blowing her winter coat (#justkillmenow). Normal amounts of dog hair might not be an issue for the 30? However, our 11 and 11 S models handle the normal AND ridiculous amounts of hair just fine. Unlike the 11 and 11 S, the 30 is choking under the added pressure of the extra hair. The debris you see in the photos was ALL collected in one run (both RoboVacs are fairly new and still have full battery cycles). Prior to the vacuum run pictured, both RoboVacs were set down to run with completely clean, empty trays, completely clean roller brushes, and clean filters. You can see why two machines are needed almost daily. Every time the RoboVacs finish a run, I clean the roller & spinning brushes and wash the tray and filters with soap and water. Every second or third time I also wash the roller & spinning brushes with soap & water. Additionally, we have one RoboVac 30G model. I used to run the 11 S and the 30 G models simultaneously in the main living areas. The 30 G is less effective (maybe 15-20 %?) at collecting hair, sand, etc... than the 11 S, in my experience. I bought the 30 to replace the 30 G. Unfortunately, the 30 was wayyyyyyy worse than the 30 G. If I had to do it over again, I would buy only the 11 S model. If I could return the 30 and 30 G models for 11 S models, I’d do it in a heartbeat. As it is, I’ll go back to running the 11 S and 30 G models together - - at least while the one dog is blowing her coat. When she’s no longer shedding, I’ll probably give the 30 another shot in the main living area. My hunch is that - absent the clogging amounts of hair on the floor - the 30 is superior to the 30 G. Based on my experience with the 30 G, I’m going to avoid models that only have one spinning brush and set vacuuming patterns. I can’t imagine many people put their RoboVacs to the workload that we do out here in the country. I would also imagine any of these models would be terrific for a normal household. Even though I’ve been complaining, I rave about all the RoboVacs we have. I love them and would be losing my mind without them. They are - all of them - fabulous little machines for the price. But... if you live with an insane amount of animal hair, the 11 S is a better choice.
Good basic robo vac.

This is my first experience with a robot vacuum so I did quite a bit of research before this purchase. Based upon reviews (from here and some websites), this seemed to be the best for the value. My other option was about $200 more. Honestly, for my needs, I should've just bit it and did the $200 more. If you are just needing a basic model that just randomly roves around - this is the product for you! You do have some power to have it do around the corners and spot clean - but other than that it's random. This is fine for me - expect that I'd really like it to stay in my living room and not roam into my kitchen by the animal's water bowl. (I have dogs that drip water on the floor after drinking.). I really have to watch him. Also...if it gets too far away from the base, the poor thing gets lost and can't find his way home. I have to bring him back into the same room. My house is NOT very big. The remote for it only works if you point it DIRECTLY at it. If it's under the couch, you have to wait until it comes out or get down so that there's nothing between you and it. There's no grace there. It does a pretty good job of picking stuff up. If you have multiple pets (I have 5), you will be cleaning out the catch tray quite often. That sucker fills up fast. Honestly, I probably should've gotten a self emptying one for my needs. If you don't have any animals (or maybe only 1), then this would probably not be such an issue. I did appreciate that it comes with an extra filter and cleaning heads. It's a little louder than what I expected but honestly it's not too bad. After the first day, I've gotten used to it and am still able to hear the tv and people talking to me pretty well. Also...I installed the app on my phone and found that I'm able to find the little guy if he ever gets lost. I realized the other day that I couldn't hear it anymore and didn't know where to find it. Since I can't use the remote to bring it back without direct line of sight, I went into the app and asked it to find it. It made the robo vac make a loud noise that allowed me to find it so that I could then send it to it's base. (I'm honestly not sure why it didn't just go to it's base and instead decided it was just going to take a nap in a random place.). To wrap it up, it's a good little robo vac. Very basic. If you aren't looking for anything too fancy , this is for you.
Upgraded from the RoboVac 11... for better and worse

I got this guy on sale a while back, and put my RoboVac 11 out to pasture at a friends house, where he still cleans to this day. I would say this unit is an overall improvement in most areas, save for a few. The Pros over the last model: - Definitely has more suction than the last model. Beyond that, you can set this Eufy to it's maximum setting, and it will remember it every time it turns on. The old 11 would revery back to standard suction everytime - Has a much better sensor. It must be optical, because this Eufy is more apt to turn before hitting an obstacle or wall. This is good, except when you really want Eufy to hug the wall. Then you need to set it for edge cleaning. - It is lower in height, which prevents it from getting stuck under some tables the 11 did. - It is generally quieter, though the max suction setting will negate some of that. - It is much better at finding it's way home. The old Eufy required a game every afternoon called "Where's Eufy" where you got to search your house for your wayward robot. This one, unless it gets stuck, can find it's way back most of the time. - It picks up even more crap. I was amazed at how much "stuff" the old vac picked up... this one gets even more. - Various improvements... most everything has gotten a bit of an upgrade, from the way the dustbin inserts, to the front brushes and the way they attach/detach, to easier removal of the main brush for cleaning. The Cons: - For whatever reason, this Eufy does not run as long. Whereas the 11 would run for over an hour and a half, this model, when set to max suction, runs for 45 minutes, almost on the nose. The vac starts out at my place at 1PM, and almost like clockwork is limping home at 1:45. - This model is also a bit more "aggressive" sometimes with lower objects, and will continually try to run over things slightly below its optical sensors. I often have to chastise Eufy for humping bathroom scales and fan bases. The Same: And some things haven't changed much. There's no virutal walls, no multiple schedules or day-specific scheduling; Eufy runs the same time, every day. There's no phone app or smart speaker integration. I suppose if you want that, there's pricier models out there. IN all it's a definite step up in most areas other than runtime. Considering I have a small place and it runs every day, that's not an issue for me, but others may feel differently. UPDATE after a few months on the job: This model has a more easily detachable set of front brushes. So much so that it was losing them periodically on its cleaning missions. Eventually, it lost them both and I couldn’t find them. I bought a set of ten more brushes and a half dozen filters from here, and those seem to be staying on fine. Otherwise, it’s still cleaning like a champ... I’m emptying its bin full of dust and detritus every few days.
Eufy would not run . . . and then, boy, did she!

I plugged it in. The light blinked orange for a couple hours, indicating that shewas charging, the light turned blue, indicating she was charged. I pushed the button for her to start cleaning. She beeped. The light blinked orange, indicating that she was charging (for an hour or so), the light turned blue, indicating she was charged. I used the remote to get her to start cleaning. She beeped. The light blinked orange, indicating that she was charging (for an hour or so), the light turned blue, indicating she was charged. I was getting nowhere. Eufy did not run . . . due to operator error. Operator error occurred because my vision is so poor from cataracts that I could not see the on/off button in the instructions, nor on the bottom of the unit. I did manage to feel around this morning until I found the toggle. Happy days! Eufy worked like a dream . . . quiet enough not to be disturbing and purring loudly enough that I was aware of where she was when I was in or near the room where she was working. I vacuumed the house a couple of days ago with my regular vacuum and dragged a damp microfiber mop over the floor. Then, for the test, I set Eufy loose. I have a long-haired cat . . . and my hair is long as well, so I thought I should probably check the dust bin after about 20 minutes since she'd been working under my bed, where the cat hangs out. (The cat is not sure if Eufy is acceptable or not, but at least she isn't tearing to the other end of the house like she does with the big vacuum.) The bin was FULL. This is not an indictment of the bin. The unit is small and fits very well under most of my furniture. So does my cat, who sheds a lot. So do I (I shed a lot . . .but, I don't fit under the furniture.) The brush was matted with cat hair and with strands of my hair. I removed the brush, cleaned it, and replaced it. By the time Eufy ran her full cycle and docked herself (I could tell she was REALLY tired), I had emptied the bin three times . . . and I know she's holding another full load. Cleaning the brush and emptying the bin emptying are intuitive and easy, and the handy cleaning brush really helps defuzz the roller brush. I figure it's going to take a few times of running her before I get all the cat hair under control. Then, I'll have to figure out how frequently I need to run her for maintenance mode. I will say that one of the reasons I got this unit is because I am a gardener. Every time I come in the house, I bring in dirt from the garden. I have rugs by the doors to catch some of it, but it invariably gets tracked through the house on the tile floors and, even worse, the bamboo floors. Sand and finished hardwood don't mix . . . I might have my floors sanded down to get refinished, but I don't need them sanded every day. Anyway, by the time I got through the house to the shower and got myself cleaned up, I had a major vacuuming job to do . . . but I was already exhausted from working in the yard. I can see it now. Walk in from the garden and push Eufy's start button as I head to the shower. YAY! I expect both my yard and my house will improve out of this one. As for the complaints about Eufy "skipping rooms," I found an easy fix on that one . . . or maybe a couple of easy fixes.I know certain areas of my house need deeper or more thorough cleaning than others. Today , I picked up everything on the floor in my daughter's room (chairs, waste basket, etc.), then put Eufy on the floor in the room, turned her on, shut the door, and set the stove timer for 20 minutes. Figured she would do a pretty thorough job on a "cleared" 10 by 13 room in 20 minutes. She did . . . after she had done my living room, sitting room, kitchen, breakfast nook, office and some of the family room. She's charging now. I'm going to "clear" the office and give her a second chance at that . . . and the same with the family room, blocking that off as well. Anyway, other than closed doors, I was thinking about cutting the stopper strips in various lengths and just placing these strips on the floor in doorways or at room transitions temporarily to force Eufy to focus on particular rooms or areas. (The family room itself will probably take a full half hour and it is more likely that Eufy will do a thorough job if I can clear some of the floor items to an adjacent room and if she doesn't have the option of wandering off to do my bedroom. (I did find I had to tuck in the bedskirts to get her to go under the bed. Guess she was afraid of the dark.) The strips are NOT something I want to stick to my bamboo floors . . . and are unsightly on my white tile, but I would think they would probably still work even if they weren't stuck down. I do have one safety concern. When Eufy is off "cleaning," what happens if my cat happens to lie down on the nice, warm charger? Or if my grandson is crawling on the floor and rolls a metal truck over the contacts or sits on it? I don't want to short the unit out testing to see if it's "live." It needs to be plugged in for Eufy to find her way "home," and I'm using the time that Eufy is vacuuming to attend to other chores (I'm not sitting and watching the charger) so are those two shiny, silver, child-attractive contacts a shock risk? Anyone have any knowledge on this? I suggested to the Eufy Company that they make the easy start instructions available on its website so that older customers, whose eyesight is failing, might be able to increase the image size to something readable. The lines on the drawings are delicate, making the details very hard to see for old eyes. Many of us can still see SOME, but many of us need letters and pictures larger and bolder than what came with the unit. Perhaps, the company could even make a large print guide available upon phone request for those who do not use computers. The elderly market, OMG! Our adult children are busy with careers and raising children, so they need this kind of help. Older people? Our joints don't like hauling around big vacuum cleaners. We don't get down on our hands and knees as easily as we used to--or at least we don't get up as well. We don't have the energy we used to have. And, many retirees that I know are busier now than when they were working--caring for grandchildren, helping their even-more-elderly parents, starting a second career, or putting a lot of time into volunteer work. So, I'm a happy camper. I didn't have to pull out the heavy vacuum today and by the end of the day, I will have made a BIG impact on "defuzzing" the house. I've got this in mind for 3 people as a Christmas present. I just hope Eufy has a long and healthy life. Moving a little furniture to help her out . . . not a problem. Go for it, Eufy!
