i've only been running this for two days. two days and i had to run over here and tell you all that this is absolutely worth the money. noting that a lot of people had filter repurchase issues, i made a point of buying two replacement filters while they're in stock. when i replace those filters, i'll buy another two sets. and so on. and hopefully that will mean i never run into the problem of them being out of stock when i need them. to the unit. it's much smaller than i was expecting. i mean i read the dimensions, but it just didn't register in my brain that it was half the unit size for 100sqft more filtering power over my old air-filter. it's all plastic (good and bad) so it weighs almost nothing, making it very easy to move around, and i was able to put it on a smaller shelf in the office space than the older unit which was made of steel and had quite a large footprint. air filtering quality is awesome. my old filter was almost a decade old. since it was built air-filtration needs around the globe have exploded, and with that need, the technologies have advanced apace. this little guy packs a HUGE punch for its little footprint. and while if you're not used to having an air filter on all the time, its high setting will feel quite loud to you at 54dB, i assure you that's 4dB lower than my old unit which only filtered 230sqft with half the efficiency. that's a huge advance in fan and motor design to get that. after plugging it in the first time, figuring out where and how it place it to get the correct air draw, and leaving it running for an hour i went in to see what it had achieved. after that first hour, walking into the office there was a noticeable change, for the better, in the air quality over the room i'd just been in. There was the ever so slightest astringent smell at first, but it wasn't overpowering and it did dissipate after the first 6 or so hours, so that's not a bad off-gas for the filters themselves. when a cigarette is smoked in the room, it pulls the air towards it quite effectively, filters it and sends it back out into the room fresh as can be. enough so that i don't have to put a face mask on to breath in the room when someone is smoking. that's a noticeable improvement over the old filter where i'd have to put a face mask on and leave it on for about 10 minutes to let all the smoke in the air get filtered with the old filter. as to price. i paid over 300$ new for my old filter. it worked beautifully, while they made the filters i needed, but the filters were also 100$/ea. so, this bad boy being 100$ for the filter unit itself, and 40$ for the pair of replacement filters feels like steal when it works this well. highly recommend. and kudos to Okaysou for manufacturing and selling a cost effective and high functioning product. please continue to do so and you will have a loyal customer. UPDATE: after about 8 months of continuous operation "The Squeak" began. I disassembled the unit (yes, this voids the warranty, but since I didn't have the warranty what did I care) pulled the fan off the motor and sprayed a minimal amount of graphite lubricant into the rear side of the motor that was accessible without unmounting it from the chassis. This did absolutely nothing. Ha! I bet you thought I was going to tell you it worked a charm. I really didn't expect it to, but I was hoping I could be lazy. Disassembled it again, dug out a random can of silicone lubricant, sprayed it again. This helped, for a brief time. When the squeak reared its ugly head again I finally bit the bullet and unmounted the motor from the chassis entirely so I could access the front port and its wicking. Drowning that with 3 in 1 oil has kept it running quieter now than when it was brand new. ... "if you're gong to do a job, do it right"

I bought this purifier on the recommendation of a family member and based on its good reviews, including the reviews of the company's responsiveness regarding warranty service. So far this purifier seems to be working well. I hope it will last a long time because when I attempted to register it for the 5-year warranty, I discovered the website listed on the warranty card no longer exits. After contacting the seller I was sent to another bare bones website and then researched and discovered the company filed for bankruptcy in 2023. It may be that they will still honor the warranty somehow should the need arise, but I no longer feel like I can take that for granted.
Excellent customer service! Five-Year Warranty. Highly recommended.

Bought this unit 6/2019, and after about a week my wife noticed that our bedroom (12' x 16') was more conducive to sleeping: I couldn't really tell a difference, but she said I was no longer snoring or having respiratory issues, and when I opened the purifier to check the filters, there was a goodly amount of dust on the pre-filter, and even on the third layer filter. So I know it was doing some good. The unit was quiet and worked pretty much around the clock without issue for about 18 months, when it started to develop a rattle, then a grinding noise. Fan bearing failing, and it finally refused to spin the fan at all, though the control panel still worked. I set it aside and forgot about it until 11/22 when something jogged my memory and I remembed it. Emailed the company and within 24 hours received a very courteous reply asking for a video of the problem and proof of purchase (turns out the unit has a *FIVE* year warranty!) and within a week a brand new unit arrived and has been working perfectly, just as the old one. So I'd say: 5 stars for the unit functions—seems to clear the air in a bedroom reasonably well 3.5 stars for durability—I expected to get at least 3+ years out of the unit; first one failed in 1.5 5.0+ stars for the warranty—long term, and honored quickly and courteously; unusual in a world of 1-year, or even 90 days(!) warranty protections 5.0+ stars for customer service from Okaysou! I'll buy from their company again, just because of the customer service. That's something increasingly rare these days where phone calls go unreturned and email are ignored.

We live in Washington State and the smoke this year from the California and Oregon forest fires was very bad. For our son with asthma, this unit was vital in cleaning the air of the smoke particles. It works well for pet dander and dust also. We have the smaller units in the bedrooms and we only need to run them 3 or 4 hours a day, they're so powerful. We can really tell the difference - the air is so clean. It has helped with my allergies (I have a kitty who sleeps on my bed). I'm sneezing less and my eyes are less itchy. It clears the air of cooking smells too but in an open concept kitchen and living room it isn't immediate. The only drawback is the timer setting. I would like to set it to run a few hours when I go to bed but when the time is up, the unit sings a soft little 3 note song. I'm a light sleeper so it wakes me up. My parents have this same unit though and they never hear it. (The smaller units emit a long beep) Be aware that this unit should be 18 inches from the wall when operating. I got around that by turning the unit around so that the air intake side faces the room. Also, a sticker on the back of the unit reminding consumers to remove the plastic around the filters would be a good idea. I'm glad I read a review about someone turning it on without realizing the filters come sealed. The booklet doesn't mention the plastic around the filters until the section on filter replacement. The back is easy to open and close and the filters fit snugly without a track - a gentle push or pull is all that is needed. The manufacturer recommends vacuuming the filters regularly. I do so about once a month, outside, with a mask, and then toss the vacuum cleaner bag. The booklets says the filters should last 6 - 8 months or 1500 hours. Overall, we're very pleased and would recommend this unit to others.
Why won't Okaysou customer service respond? ***UPDATE***

This is my second Okaysou Air Purifier. The first one is humming along fine, but this one keeps cycling through the fan speeds over and over and over again, beeping with each fan speed change & then it turns itself off. I can't get it to stay on any one speed, even by using the child lock. I have sent two different emails to the company over the course of a month but no one responds. Very frustrating experience! An air purifier won't do any good cleaning the air if it can't stay on.***UPDATE*** Okaysou customer service came through for me! They sent a replacement air purifier that has been working great right out of the box! I kept experimenting with the original unit and it could work anywhere between 8 to 10 seconds, cycling through all of the fan speeds 3-5 times before turning itself off. Then, it would turn on if I kept pressing the on button, but it would turn off as soon as I removed my finger from the on button. I could never get it to change run time either. It was great that Okaysou replaced an obviously defective unit. They stood behind their warranty and that matters a lot! Thank you.

I have 1 cat who sheds like crazy and my nose were constantly stuffy. I bought this to help relieve some of the struggles. As shown in the video, it does its job as this video was taken after 6 months of usage. Sleep mode is quiet and you pretty much don't notice it. I found out the loudest mode is pretty useful for noise cancelation like a white backpack noise, especially if you have loud roommates who turn the TV up loud or their alarms ringing non stop because they don't wake up to it. As for the price part, the filters are slowly rising in price. They used to be $20 each (there's two sets you have to buy) so around $40 total. However, now they are about $25 each, $50 total. Filters are said to be change every 6 months but depending on usage, might need more frequent change. This could be a potential cost buildup in the future. Like other reviews mentioned, the filter change light does turn on about 3 to 4 months. I think it might be to remind you to wash the washable filter instead of actually changing the inside filters. But don't take my word for it.

I bought the Okaysou Airmax8L during the California Wildfires of September 2019, my whole neighborhood was covered in thick smoke, I couldn't see down the block, the Air Quality Index was dangerously high, my sinuses were freaking out, my eyes were burning. My whole apartment smelled like a nasty campfire because my idiot roommate kept the windows open because it was also like 100+ degrees outside, and I couldn't sleep without sneezing, wheezing, and coughing. It was terrible. Then I got this Okaysou AirMax8L and within 15 minutes the smell was gone in my room. My sinuses cleared. There was no more smoke. I could really breathe. I moved it into each room of the apartment, and literally within an hour I couldn't even tell there was a raging fire outside. This purifier saved my life. I actually sleep better because it's getting rid of all the crap in the air. Plus, it is so quiet with a pleasant drone to keep my tinnitus at bay, the vents are huge, it sucks up all the air and works like a champ. But the real cherry on top is the customer service, they are extremely polite, understanding, quick to respond, and reasonable. I feel like a valued customer. After running this air purifier almost 24/7 since September 2019, it started to develop a squeaking noise, and they replaced the whole unit right away. That's so cool.
