I attached this iron to the back of a door, instead of messing with drywall.
By BrookhavenGuy on Reviewed in the United States on May 18, 2025
I avoided what many others have commented about negatively: Affixing it to drywall. Instead , I screwed it to the back of my solid wood (pine) pantry door. Then I bought 2 gummy door stops to keep the door in place when I iron. Works great! and the ironing board is hidden behind a closed door when not is use. The storage harness for the iron works well too. Again, hiding /storing the iron upright when not in use.

Damaged packaging and missing parts
By Matthew Brown on Reviewed in the United States on February 6, 2025
Item arrived with damaged packaging that was re-taped shut. The bottom bracket of the iron holder was missing. I didn’t need the wall anchors included in the package for my application but only 3 anchors were provided. With all of that said, it appears as though the ironing board will meet my needs and folds up nicely to save space.

Changed my life! I now have more shirts I can wear!

Disclaimer: I don't stack books on my ironing board, nor do I use great force to try and flatten stubborn wrinkles, so this is plenty sturdy and strong for me. For what I do (and my wife sometimes does) this was just what I needed. Our house is two story, and the master bedroom and closets are downstairs. Setting up an ironing board and iron in a room upstairs just takes more time and effort than I'm willing to spend again and again. I have a lot of shirts. My wife and daughter each bought them for me for every birthday, father's day, and Christmas, until I announced I have sufficient shirts! Bottom line for me, though, was I only wore the shirts that come out of the dryer really wrinkle-free. If money were no object, we could get a fancy built in cabinet ironing board or send everything to the cleaners--but money IS an object. Enter this amazing product. Easy to install. Instructions warn against using hollow wall anchors, but if one side or the other can be screwed into a wall stud, it's plenty sturdy. I used self-drilling, self-tapping wall anchors on the other side. We had electric outlets installed in our two master closets a short while back, and that made putting this wall mounted ironing board in a closet feasible. The other slightly tricky thing for closet installation is that you can't really install it under a high closet rod and shelf, due to the length of the board when it's stowed. I found that for good ironing height, the top of the frame needed to be about 50" from the floor, and that put the end of the ironing board at 70 inches when stowed. That's higher than the high closet rods and shelves in our closets. Only my closet had one wall space with nothing on it for mounting the board, and so I got the ironing board in my closet. That's it. The iron is stored on a shelf in my closet along with a jug of distilled water. Very handy, and now I can wear any shirt I have, so long as I can spare five minutes to touch it up with the iron. Same with washable semi-dress pants. Like I said in the headline, it changed my life!

Update July 2024: The seller reached out to us and resolved the issue to our complete satisfaction. I bought this and my husband installed it for me. He had this to say: The sales videos and even reviews make this seem like an elegant assembly design, but it is not. There is much confusion concerning whether you can screw it right into your wall out of the box, so I will address this first. Four mounting molly bolts were confusingly provided in the kit (one pictured). However, due to the long shank, they are not suitable for standard 1/2" or 5/8" sheet rock. Many reviewing customers bought their own dry wall anchors, despite the instructions specifically saying not to mount on dry wall. Such anchors may be great for a TV or heavy piece of art, but since the ironing board is moving and bearing varying amounts of weight over the years, I chose to mount it onto the wall studs, per instructions. Since the studs in my laundry room are the standard 16", I had to cut and mount two boards (not included) to the studs, and mount the ironing board (12" wide) to these two boards, all with wood screw (not included). One pro reviewer suggested mounting two of four screws to a stud, and the other two to dry wall anchors as a compromise, but then you wouldn't have the freedom to place the ironing board where you want it. Regarding ironing board placement, I chose mount it flush against a French door frame. I had to flip some hardware (long shaft and retaining clip) to a mirror image from the OEM configuration so it would fit. The metal retaining clip was surprisingly brittle and broke when I tried to bend it, so I had to make a new one out of a coat hanger. The end product is sturdy, but not as pretty to look at with the stud-mounted boards behind it. I don't think anyone should be surprised at having to do this, but I'm giving it only 3 stars because of the misleading ease of assembly and appearance, and the broken retaining clip.
Wall mounted ironing board

I mounted the ironing board for my wife tonight, ensuring it was secured to two studs, spaced 16 inches apart. The installation went smoothly, and I'm optimistic about itsa strength. I'll provide an update on how it holds up after a month of use. Edit1 - My wife uses this ironing board for piecing quit blocks, she pulls out a full size board for finishing her larger creations . She is so far happy with this wall mounted board. The screws that come with the board are in my opinion for masonry walls. I do not see them as good drywall screws. I used my own wood screws to go into the studs.

Wall-Mounted Ironing Bliss: My Xabitat Ironing Board Review Let's be honest, ironing isn't exactly our favorite activity. But if you're going to do it, why not make it as painless (and space-saving!) as possible? That's where the Xabitat Wall Mounted Ironing Board comes in, and let me tell you, it's a game-changer! Skepticism to Satisfaction: I admit, I was a bit wary when I ordered this. A wall-mounted ironing board? Would it be sturdy enough? Would it fold away neatly? My doubts quickly vanished as soon as I installed it. Sturdy as a Rock: This board is built to last. The heavy-duty metal frame feels solid, and the ironing surface itself is smooth. No more wobbly boards threatening to send your iron flying! Customizable Comfort: One of the things I love most about this board is the adjustable height. Whether you're a towering ironing giant or a vertically challenged warrior, you can find the perfect position to conquer those wrinkles. Simply install it on the wall based on a height comfortable to you. Space-Saving Savior: Let's face it, traditional ironing boards are space hogs. Not this beauty! When you're done ironing, simply fold the board flat against the wall. It practically disappears, freeing up precious floor space in your laundry room or bedroom. Minor Musings: My only suggestion for improvement? A slightly longer ironing surface would be ideal for those shirt sleeves and pants. But that's a minor quibble in the grand scheme of things. Overall Verdict: If you're looking for a sturdy, space-saving ironing solution that's easy to use and adjust, the Xabitat Wall Mounted Ironing Board is a winner. It's turned my chore into something almost enjoyable (okay, maybe not enjoyable, but less dreadful). Plus, the built-in iron holder keeps everything organized and within reach. Final Tip: Consider the available space in your laundry room or ironing area when choosing the size of the board. And trust me, your future self will thank you for investing in this wall-mounted wonder!

We recently moved into a new home and downsized to make the move. In the process we left our old ironing board behind and planned on buying new when we moved into our new home. But when I suggested this to my wife instead of a free standing ironing board, she was all in! We had a wall mount years ago and she loved it, so she was excited to get this. I mounted it in our laundry room and it folds up out of the way nicely. It is much easier to fold down and use than setting up a free standing style. Since the mounting holes are not 16" dead center, and I did not want to trust hollow wall anchors, I mounted two 24" boards horizontally, upper and lower, screwed them into the studs, then mounted the ironing board to the boards. Now, this is rock solid!!
Hardware Problems

The installation video is not helpful. I would advise not buying unless you have a contractor who can tear out a section of the wall and install extra bracing. Typically studs are 16” apart and the holes on the device are 12”, so even finding one stud is not gonna be adequate. That being said, we like the product and in the sellers defense, they are engaged and willing to please. They contacted us and said that we can return it for a refund. I’ve already cut into the wall and installed a support, so we’re going to keep it, but I appreciate their cooperation and the gesture. It’s a solid product, just wanted the consumer to be aware of installation.
Great product terrible mounting hardware

The product seems of good quality, but whoever designed the hardware was an amateur. Don’t use the included hardware because it will just tear a large hole in the drywall. Use a plastic anchor that expands with screw for mounting. Also make sure that you hit at least one stud and mount one side with screws to secure the product. Don’t expect this product to stay on the wall using four anchors.
