My small dogs love it
By LAD01 on Reviewed in the United States on March 31, 2025
I've had this for a few years. I've had 3 different dogs playing with it who are all under 25 pounds. There have been no issues with it except for some minor edge fraying that has not affected its function at all even though they do literally dig around in there. Would recommend especially for small dogs to keep them occupied and problem solving for a bit.

Great idea, terribly overpriced for what I received
By Dawn M on Reviewed in the United States on April 12, 2021
This is an excellent concept that is not necessarily created as durable as it should be. I am disappointed with the quality of the fabric’s edges for the price I paid. The thickness is good, but the frayed edges on each and every piece is terrible. We have had this toy for less than two weeks and as you can see it looks well loved for some time, when it has been less than 2 weeks. All of these pulled and frayed threads are from regular play from a year old pug. She has only use this 6 times. Had I known that the edges of the fabric where it comes together with the sewing were never “sealed” to protect from it from excessive fraying, I would not have spent this amount of money. This toy came highly recommended because it does keep dogs thinking while even stopping the digging on furniture because they now have “their place”. It has also provided my pug with some great entertainment and keeps my curious beast out of trouble. As far as safety is concerned, I’ve had to cut threads so that they didn’t produce a hazard for my dog to potentially get her paw or teeth tangled up as she digs- You can see where frayed threads from one piece of the layer tangled with frayed threads of a different layer, which can cause the potential for injury- especially with smaller dogs. I mention this so that other dog owners are careful and watch their pooch while they are playing. These pictures were taken right before I let my dog play with it and I had to cut threads first, for obvious reasons. All in all, this is a great idea and provides entertainment for dogs and helps keep their mind sharp while giving them their own place to dig, which has cut down on my dog digging on our couch or beds. The downside is how it was made. The edges of the sewn fabric are not sealed which creates a little quality looking product after dogs have played with it for a few times as well as potential safety hazards. I would have never spent this kind of money on this digging toy had I known.

Stimulating Toy for Dogs

My Yorkie is exceptionally intelligent, so he requires toys and activities that really challenge him. This toy works well for him, especially, since at 6lbs, he must navigate and maneuver the surface - he is so small that he must stand on the pads that he has to “peel back”. That is an extra layer of complexity that larger dogs might not have to deal with. It keeps his interest until he’s uncovered all the treats. This toy is a much better alternative to shag-carpet-like alternatives (much more challenging). Signs of wear on the pads appeared after the 2nd use. They are durable enough for a small dog, but might hold up to a larger, stronger dog.
Pricey, but worth it! 1-year-old doodle loves it!

I rarely, if ever, write reviews despite the fact that I shop on Amazon constantly. This product deserves a review. I think the price point is high and I'm sure with time and effort you could craft a similar toy yourself. However, the iDig saves me so much time and dog parent guilt that I think it was worth it. Labradoodle is one and I work from home. She's generally pretty laid back but gets her spurts of energy now and then. Usually these occur when I need to get something done. She will want to play tug or fetch and I feel bad not being able to. The iDig gives her an outlet for some of her energy and as long as I hide a few smelly treats every now and then, she's usually content digging for her tennis ball. I don't have to over feed her or do much to encourage her to play with it. The material is washable, but I doubt we'll get to that before she destroys it. But I'm not sure a thicker, more durable material would be as fun. Overall, pricey but worth it. Hopefully I can figure out how to buy replacement layers.

Great Toy, but rips too easily!

Our 6 month old mini Aussiedoodle loved this toy, but unfortunately the netting on one of the layers has already been torn after only a couple of times playing with it. I did not mind the price if it was going to be durable and a good outlet for his digging instinct. But to spend $100 on a toy that is meant for digging and for it to rip so quickly is quite annoying and frustrating. If you want an excessively expensive, very short term thrill - this toy is outstanding. But for durability, especially for the cost, this toy is not it.
Its the food the dog enjoys, not the device

This device does not seem to have much of a point for my dog. It is not enjoyable she just wants the treats or food. She is uninterested in it unless there is food in it. She digs the food up in a minute and leaves it alone.
Arrived Today And My Dog Was Worn Out In 30 Minutes!!!

The iDig was an immediate hit with my dog. She is definitely a digger! She digs at everything, even the bed covers, which is why I ended up buying the iDig. The iDig is completely assembled, so all you need to do is remove it from the box and insert treats and/or toys into the many hidden pockets and under the three flaps. The flaps are removable and machine washable (cold, gentle), and hang dry. They are made of a very sturdy material (canvas?), with a heavy duty screen in one. There are tiny plugs that turn so you can move the flaps around into the other slots (or remove) as well as interchange the flaps. You can order more flaps to customize your iDig for your dog. The flaps remind me a lot of the material of the sails from my sailboats. The photo shows a fluffy, pillow-looking item, but the flaps are all flat (unless you put a pillow underneath). The base is a sturdy, hard plastic ring. It's large enough that my dog (14 lbs) can use it as a bed, if she wants. It's still small enough to be able to use in many places. It's about the size of a pillow, maybe a bit wider. The base seems to be easy to clean with a good spray and wipe down. Everything seems to be very sturdy and well put together. As soon as I pulled the iDig out of the box and set it on the bed, my dog was ready to check it out! As I started filling it with treats, she was watching and ready for me to let her start. She sniffed and dug for 30 minutes, taking breaks only to get water. With it being Winter, we haven't been able to get out for her to get exercise. The iDig is great for getting exercise for your dog! She was panting like she had been running! She's sleeping now, and seems very content. I highly recommend the iDig for those who have a digger!
A great find for my digging dachshund

I struggle to keep my mini dachshund entertained inside since she doesn’t really enjoy fetch and she only plays with toys to destroy them. She also loves to dig. I’ve been eying this toy for a while but was unsure about the price, especially since I didn’t know if she would like it. We decided to buy it for her for Christmas and it has been an instant hit. There are numerous pockets to hide treats in, which keeps her occupied for a good amount of time. I can tell it tires her out because when she’s done finding all the treats, she goes to lay down and take a nap. We’re truly pleased at how much she loves this toy! I don’t know if I recommend the toy for a larger dog or a really strong chewer (our doxie does like to chew but I wouldn’t say she’s a strong chewer, just a determined one). The flaps might get torn easier with a more aggressive chewer, but I can’t be sure. They do seem durable, and the iFetch website (the company who makes the toy) has flaps for sale individually in case something rips. Overall, extremely happy with this toy!
A fancy Snuffle Mat

I got this for my business to show people the options that are out there for their dogs. If you have an aggressive digger or a bigger dog, this isn't for you. For a dog under 40 lbs or a dog that will paw at it gently, this is the thing for you! My dog spent about an hour digging around for some kibble, and I am currently teaching some other smaller dogs how to use it. 4/5 for the price being kind of high for a fancy snuffle mat.
Love this but the pads… oh the pads

Love this toy. My puppy (9monyh old border collie-cattle dog)needs something to keep her occupied while I’m in the office. This was a dream! However, within the first use she dug/bit through the mess pad and there’s a huge hole in the center. I also had a pet sitter who left freshly cleaned pads out to dry after washing and all three pads are now speckled with mold (and this is something I don’t want to clean with bleach out of concern for my puppy). I love this item but I do wish they offered replacements for the mats. No one wants to spend $100 on something that is going to break in the first use.
