Summer Infant Ultra Plush Changing Pad Cover
By Courtney Sanders on Reviewed in the United States on August 14, 2025
As a parent, I love this changing pad cover! It’s super soft and cozy for my baby, and the velboa fabric feels gentle on their skin. It fits snugly on standard pads and stays in place thanks to the elastic bottom. Easy to clean, stain-resistant, and a great value for the price. It adds a nice touch to the nursery while keeping diaper changes comfortable.

Cute, but waste of money...
By Funjack on Reviewed in the United States on July 10, 2012
My first time Mom mistake : buying a changing pad cover. ANY changing pad cover. Babies are expensive - save your money for more useful items! Pros: -Soft -Seems to hold up well in wash -Absorptive (but soaks through pretty easy) -Very cute (I have the monkey). If you're into having the perfect, coordinating nursery decor, this is for you. If you want to save your money for more useful items because no one really sees (or cares) how cute the nursery is except you anyway, skip this one. -Fits great as a mattress sheet for my Arm's Reach co-sleeper! (and it's much more useful re-purposed this way :) Cons: If your son pees while you're changing his diaper like mine does - at least once a day, usually more, a changing pad cover is kind of pointless. Did you notice that nearly all the five star reviews mention that you need to use disposable pee-pads, or burp cloths, or SOMETHING to cover this cover pad? Yep, you do. After washing this darn thing every other day for a while, I gave up. I've got enough chores to do without adding extra laundry. My changing pad is vinyl covered (and my son couldn't care less if his bum is sitting on vinyl or soft cotton, FWIW). I'd have to wash the vinyl anyway - it usually soaks through this cover. For me, it is much easier to just clean the changing pad than to A) wash the cover repeatedly or B) wash whatever I'm covering this cover with, or C) keep buying disposable pee-pads to cover this cover D) have to stock up on $100 worth of changing pad covers to stretch out the laundry. At some point, if the accidents get worse, I may start using my burp cloths there (I use the big prefolded cloth diapers, work great for a million things!) For now, my time and money are much better spent on my little one elsewhere. Cheers jackie ******************************** Update 2/2013 Well, my little one is ~8m old now, and only occasionally pees/gets poo on the changing pad cover during diaper changes, so I do use it now and probably only wash it once every week or two, which is much more manageable. FWIW, I probably still wouldn't have bought it in retrospect, and I definitely didn't use it for the first few months at all. But since I have it, I do use it now that he's older and I guess it's a little more comfy than the vinyl - but honestly my LO still doesn't care.
