Fantastic!

Love this kettle! Have had it over a year and use it multiple times a day for tea, matcha, hot cocoa etc. and to throw into the dog food to make a warm gravy. Anything that needs hot water, cup-o-noodles, instant mashed potatoes, instant oatmeal, this does the trick so much faster than boiling water on the stove. So much more useful than a coffee maker IMO. Bought a pour-over coffee maker for that, but I'm not a daily coffee drinker.

Water will boil over if filled to max or even halfway mark
By Emma on Reviewed in the United States on April 8, 2025
So the great thing about this product is that it's 100% stainless steel on the inside and it boils incredibly quickly. The cons are that it's small and if you let it boil until the kettle switches off, you'll have water boiling over, spilling everywhere, which means the design needs work. I've tested this when the water is at the max level and at the halfway mark. You really don't want to let the kettle switch off on its own - as soon as you hear it boiling, take the kettle off. I will add that I'm using this kettle in New Zealand, so perhaps the voltage here gives a different result than if it's used in the States.

Excellent kettle, better than the larger one, zero complaints. Been using every day for months.

I've used this nearly every single day for over two months, often several times per day, and I'm very happy with it. I spent literally hours comparing dozens of different kettles (foolish of me, good for you), and I'm confident I made the right choice with this one. I'm the type to nitpick and notice any design flaws, and while I'm reluctant to use the word 'perfect', the fact that I have zero complaints about this says a lot! Actually, at first I ordered a larger version from the same manufacturer, and ended up returning it for this one. Both were fine, but this was better for me: Primarily because this has a smaller minimum fill level (300 ml). That means less energy use and faster boil time, since the vast majority of the time I just need enough for one cup of coffee or oatmeal (300 ml is still usually more than I need, but this is better than most kettles on the market). It also takes up less space on my counter, and I like that the lid opens a full 90°. I don't mind the manual instead of spring-loaded opening, if anything I prefer it, and that probably makes it more durable. The base is good and grippy so it stays where I put it. I haven't had to clean it yet (except once before my first use, and occasionally wiping off coffee splatter near the spout), but the smaller size and 90° lid opening makes it easier to clean than the larger version. It still looks brand new. It's fairly easy to read the inside markings for the minimum fill line, the wide opening lid probably helps with that. Overall this feels solid and well made, yet light and compact enough that it wouldn't be crazy to take this on a road trip (though there may be better options for that). The outside only gets warm not hot, and while almost none of these kettles insulate well (regardless of claims), it is double walled and stays hot enough for long enough for my purposes at least. It heats fast enough that if I get distracted for a while and I'm not sure how hot it is, I just flip the switch again, it boils so rapidly it's really not an issue- usually the water is ready before I am.. I suppose the only things that could make this better is vacuum insulation, and an even smaller minimum fill level (the latter may not be feasible for safety/durability reasons, and vacuum insulated kettles seem to be very rare on Amazon at least [despite several obviously false advertising claims]). FYI I ruled out kettles with an exterior liquid level indicator, because I think that has more potential for sanitary issues; and fancier looking glass ones because anytime you have multiple materials joined together, there is more potential for leaks, cracks, and other failures (especially when high heat and liquid are involved). Aside from the obvious fragility (and poor thermal insulation) of glass as opposed to metal and plastic. But seriously unless you need a larger kettle, you should probably stop looking and just buy this one. If I somehow lost or broke this one, I would buy the exact same one again. [Update April 2023: I'm still using this every single day, often multiple times per day, and it's still going strong! One of my best purchases ever. I think I used CLR one time to remove some mineral buildup, I probably will again at some point, but it really isn't necessary.]

What I was seeking was a way to boil water with an automatic shutoff, so I could focus on other tasks without worrying about boiling away the water. I often boil water several times a day, so the extra ease adds up! Things that mattered to me when choosing: 1) Stainless steel, with no plastic anywhere inside. 2) Auto shut-off. 3) Reliability -- not leaking, etc. 4) About 4 cups. No smaller, but also not much bigger. Why I chose this one: All the options I could find that met my criteria had enough relevant negative reviews, that I decided to go with a more affordable one so I wouldn't be risking much -- though I ruled out units where people showed any defects that seemed actually dangerous. This one, on sale, cost about $20. It seemed as if there was no plastic inside. I liked the red option. :) What I like about it: - It does the job and I am finding this one little change actually does make things easier for me every day. I love how easy and quick it is. If I can't get to it while it's still hot, I just flip the switch again and it's ready in no time! - I haven't needed to clean it, but I like that if I do need to, it's as easy as can be to see and access the whole inside. (I followed the instructions to boil and toss a couple of pots full in the beginning, and have only boiled water in it since then. Plus, I leave the lid open until any condensation is dried up, before closing the lid. Btw, I love that the lid can be left open that way.) Pouring is fine, but you don't want to pour too fast, else the water overflows the spout. But it's plenty fast enough, even for me, running as fast as I often am. The only thing I'm not totally pleased with is that the tiny plastic tab which locks the lid down is actually right above the spout -- where the hot/boiling water can pass over it on the way out. I wish that had been made of stainless steel. The hinge on the lid is also plastic, though it looks as if it retracts and is blocked by the stainless inner lid, when in use. (I'd still rather that was stainless.) My solution, while reminding myself this is a $20 pot, is that I click the lid open before pouring, so that plastic tab is not anywhere near the water as it pours out. Easy to do, and the lid blocks the steam from hitting my hand. So it works out. Some day, if the perfect stainless steel electric kettle comes along, I might pay the big bucks for it. But honestly, I looked at a lot of pricey options, and nothing seemed much better, so I'm happy with this little pot. It definitely does what I wanted it to do, and every time I use it (several times a day), I feel happy to have it.
love it! exactly what I was looking for (size, stainless steel interior, etc)

I don't need a large-capacity kettle and didn't want the extra weight and bulk of one so was really happy to find this in the 1L size. I was also pleased it's the Secura brand. I bought a Secura induction cooktop earlier this year and love it and have been impressed with the build quality. I appreciate the extremely diligent reviewer who pointed out that there is a bit of plastic at the lid hinge, and agree that almost certainly does create a very small amount of exposure to plastic interacting with steam and hot water droplets (that then drip into the kettle). Perhaps Secura can address that so this would be a truly 100% SS interior. My kettle got some little brown spots on the floor of the interior and I was concerned it was rusting. I emailed Secura customer service and had some email exchanges that didn't satisfy my questions so I asked for a phone call back. Within about an hour I received a phone call from them and an extremely patient, knowledgeable, and informative customer service rep answered all my questions and addressed my concerns. I was satisfied that there is nothing wrong with my kettle and she highly recommended Bar Keeper's Friend powder cleanser to clear off the spots plus any other mineral deposits that could be there even if I can't see them. (I use water from a reverse osmosis purifier but I know there are some tiny bits of impurities that remain.) I was reluctant to buy a new cleaning product -- I use baking soda or vinegar or Nano Towels for virtually everything plus my place is tiny with very limited storage. It's the situation where if I bring something new home there's a good chance I have to get rid of something else. :) But the helpful woman from Secura convinced me I needed BKF. I HIGHLY recommend that you pick some up too along with your new kettle. I thought my stainless steel sink was clean but it turns out a film had gradually formed. The BKF took care of that very quickly and easily. So 5 stars for the kettle that is exactly what I wanted and 10 stars for Secura customer service! UPDATE to original review above with just a few small negatives though other brands are probably the same or maybe worse: there is a bit too much time between the kettle reaching a boil and the auto-shutoff. During all that time steam is pouring out of the kettle and I realized it settles onto my kitchen wall if I don't use the kettle at least a foot from the wall with the spout pointing away from the wall. I wouldn't be so concerned about steam on the wall except that it's painted plaster, not tile, and I'm concerned that because I use this kettle 3-4+ times a day that that chronic exposure to steam WILL damage my wall over time. And this truly is a small negative but is unnecessary so maybe Secura can adjust: the marks showing fill lines are on the side of the kettle where the handle is (opposite the spout). That means I have to take the kettle off of the base and rotate it to a position where I can see the fill lines as I put water in. If the marks were under the spout it would be easier. HOWEVER, since I now rotate the kettle so that the spout isn't putting steam towards the wall, I just do that prior to filling it and I can see the quantity marks just fine. :)

Bought this to replace a stovetop kettle. THE GOOD: Seems well made, matches our kitchen decor, and boils a generous amount of water quickly. Has a secure lid. Base is thoughtfully designed to sit well with slots all around base to accommodate the cord wrapped to a variety of lengths. THE BAD: Only one. Be careful not to touch the thin silver line around the top- it is not decorative, but is actually the top of the metal tank where the water is heated- can burn yourself. OVERALL: This thing is great! Well made, attractive, well designed, and heats water up fast. Don’t know how we did without it.
Still works after 18 months.

Purchased 1/1/22, 18 months ago. Very handy. Mine is white and it ooks good on my kitchen counter. Still works. Perfect size for one tall mug of tea. When new, I think it took 3-4 minutes to boil. It now takes 6 minutes to boil so I have to plan ahead a little bit if I’m in a hurry to leave the house with tea in hand. I don’t know whether all pots lose power like that over time, but I would suspect so. Note: it stopped working recently and I missed using it. I examined the bottom of the pot, which was fine. However, the surface of the base had a tiny bit of food or something on it. I cleaned the base and the pot started working again. Try that before you toss it if yours stops working—the power connections do have to be clean. Note 2: I haven’t yet figured out how to clean out the visible white calcification buildup inside the spout. The kettle itself, which seems to collect calcification quickly, is relatively easy to clean. I use filtered water and there is still fast calcification buildup on the bottom of the pot. I have wondered if maybe a glass kettle would attract less pot-bottom calcification. Cheers.
