Solid, Reliable little AC
By UnixSkunk on Reviewed in the United States on June 22, 2022
Well, I'm approaching 3 years with this little air conditioner in the middle of sunny California. It has survived some very toasty days. My housemates have gone through 2 different air conditioners in the same amount of time. It is easy to set up and put away. Still blows very cold(Have to shut it down sometimes because I'm freezing!). It was the best $300.00 I've spent in a long time. Would happily buy a second one of these.

Terrible shipping and poor quality AC
By Gardeningdad on Reviewed in the United States on August 6, 2019
We just purchased this air conditioner for a finished studio that is fully insulated and roughly 140 square feet (7x20'). I had high hopes since this unit since it is rated for a much larger space, but since the moment it arrived it has been a total disappointment. The box arrived with 1 strap around it that was barely holding the box together. Not a good sign. I needed to move it over a bit to open it, and everything inside jostled around when I moved it. Bad sign number two. We cut the single packing strap off and the box basically fell apart. There was hardly enough styrofoam surrounding this thing to ship something half this fragile, let alone an air conditioner. Undeterred, we unboxed it and carried it into the studio to set it up. While familiarizing ourselves with the unit, the vent lever fell off in our hands. Upon closer inspection, the tabs on one end were broken off. Broken in shipping or so poorly made it fell apart on the first use? We'll never know... At this point we are still so excited to have a new air conditioner for this space that we are trying look past all of these issues. We figured everything would seem like silly little issues when we got it running and could finally work in a cool room again. So we get the hose out and go to hook it up to the window, but wait, what's this? Oh, the hose window bracket is fractured. Wow. Now I'm getting really annoyed. But still, we keep moving forward. 'It will all be fine when the room is cool' I keep telling myself under my breath. So we get it hooked up and turn it on. At this point it's 6pm and still 95° outside with a temperature of 89° in the studio. A perfect time to test out the new AC. This thing shouldn't have any issues cooling this 140 sf room since it's rated for a 400 sf room, right? Well, 3 hours later, the temperature is now 85° outside AND a whole 82° inside. This is while running the AC full blast the entire 3 hours. We even gave it another shot early this morning while the temperature was still low (granted, this is not how we intended to use it. I bought it for a larger space than we have so we could go out anytime we need to work and quickly cool the room down) and it only managed to bring the temperature down 2° in 2 hours (from 85° to 83°). I don't know if this is how this AC is designed to work or if it is just performing this poorly because it was damaged during shipping, but either way I would avoid this AC at all costs.
