Great Blender, Get the original spiral cookbook...makes it so easy to use

This has turned out to be an excellent choice for us. We've only used it for smoothies, pesto, soup fixings and tomato sauce for spaghetti. Trying something new every few days. The cookbook (available here and at eBay [where we purchased ours at a lower price than here] is wonderful! It puts together the machine, the symbols, materials needed and allows you to identify the changes made since that earlier Blendtec came out. We printed out a chart of the different icons as the one online is specifically for this machine and is detailed, then put that copy of the chart in the cookbook. It is not as noisy as some complain about...I was happy to note that it was not earth-shatteringly loud. Keep an eye on the touch screen as it warns if a piece of frozen fruit (for example) needs a bit more fluid, saving stress on the machine. The accompanying smaller cup is great for pesto and can't wait to try it with other things. One Hint: Don't try making a smooth deviled egg mix though...it is so powerful that it causes the lipid droplets in the egg yolk to burst and separate from the protein in the yolk, resulting in drippy oil settling out and a less tasty egg. There went my idea for making a perfectly smooth deviled egg filler.

Best blender for blenderized diet - edited from 5 to 1 star.
By SgtMjrPlumley on Reviewed in the United States on January 12, 2021
My daughter has a gtube and is special needs. 100% of her diet is fed through the gtube. This blender gets it so miniscule that it can go through her gtube. We use it 1 sometimes two times every day and we've had it for about 3 months now going strong. ***Editing to add. This is 2 years later or so. We have had so many problems with this blender, no wonder blendtec discontinued this model. Our motor started smoking and spewing metal dust at 80 blends. Sent it back to blendtec and they sent it back to us “refurbished.” It still did the same thing. They sent us another that was a different color and it took an extra MONTH bc of that. Make that make sense. And y’all, they did not care that my daughter needed it to survive. No expediting, nothing. We had to use a formula that makes her stomach upset and then baby food while we were waiting. Sent that one back in bc IT FAILED AFTER 3 BLENDS. Started doing the same thing. They gave us the Professional 800 with the sound box only after I made a stink about it bc of all the trouble they caused us and the 725 blender had been discontinued. That one even after I complained about the wait and how detrimental that is to our daughter took forever as well!! The jar was lost somewhere (they said in shipping but I checked and it didn’t even get picked up for shipping so it had to have been them). They sent me an expedited jar with an apology and y’all. IT WAS MISSING THE TOP. I had to wait another 3 business days for the top. I’m going to be honest. By the time we received everything for the 800, I had already bought a vitamix. Now let me tell you, no straining needed, it blends everything like a dream. We can batch blend without it overheating, and we can blend for a few minutes without it overheating. Love my vitamix. With the 800, we get chunks constantly. And really the only nice thing about it is the sound box. If you have a tube fed child, or only eat blended food orally, like you need a blender to sustain you, get a vitamix. And also get a back up blender. That has been our savior. That we have two now and a blendjet2. I wouldn’t get a blendtec by their sheer lack of care for their customers and their obvious decline in product reliability and quality.
