Big steams come in small packages
By Sonya Maree on Reviewed in the United States on October 13, 2020
*Disclamier* I was given this product to evaluate and give an honest and unbiased review. First things first, this is a very small unit. If you look at the 3rd picture, you’ll see my daughter’s inhaler (for scale). When I saw how small it was, I honestly thought there was no way it was going to be effective. I was wrong. We ran it overnight and although the manual stated that with it full, you would get roughly 7 hours, we filled it up and 9 hours later it was still pumping out cool steam and there is still water in it. Mind you, that was on it’s lowest setting. If you look at the photos, you can just barely see the steam coming out. Please note: at the lowest setting, it made her room feel like Florida in the winter. Kid came out of her room this morning with curly hair. I don’t know what the highest setting would do, and if I’m being honest, we will very likely never find out. Probably turn it into a bog or something. The LED is very bright and very pretty and you can turn the blasted thing off with the little blue switch on the front, which my browse through the manual didn’t tell me, but is a fantastic little detail. My one complaint, and it’s not a big one, is that you can’t turn the top little white thing where the steam comes out, and it’s very definitely directional. That is something that they may want to correct in future editions. However, if you look at the first photo (nighttime) you can see we simply turned the whole thing around. *Also of note: They included a small, white sponges thing in a sealed bag in the box with no explanation and no clear place to put it... unless it’s for cleaning the unit. No idea. Maybe they will see the review and let me know what it’s for. All in all, it’s a super cool little unit and I’m very glad I got the chance to check it out, because if I were just browsing for a humidifier, I might have passed this one by because it’s so small.

Can’t take pieces apart to clean
By Amazon Customer on Reviewed in the United States on January 22, 2023
Works well in my small studio apartment. Really liked this small Pohl Schmitt humidifier, at first. I’ve been using it just under a month. About a week to two weeks in, the filter beads started coming out. First a few, then a lot. You can’t take pieces apart in order to clean everything so, there is pink stuff which might be algae, plus filter beads that are accumulating inside these parts. Today, after rinsing out the water canister, refilling it and screwing the lid closed, then flipping it over to sit on the base, the bead canister came off its perch, and the top pieces popped off. While that happened, the rest of the filter beads are now on the bottom of the base. I loved everything else about this humidifier. The soon-realized fact that the pieces don’t come apart in order to clean, which leads to buildup of algae and filter beads; the fact that the beads were coming out daily and, the fact that the bead canister came apart today - these are the reasons I am returning this humidifier. I am very disappointed.
