Great for pet lovers
By William A Fickling III on Reviewed in the United States on June 25, 2020
My wife runs a dog and cat rescue. We have 8 dogs in our home, plus the occasional rescue dog, one of which is incontinent. (I’ll come back to that point shortly.) Our dogs shed a LOT of hair all over the downstairs, and that’s a real challenge for any vacuum, let along a robot vacuum. So we need to vacuum daily to pick up all the dog hair, and that became quite a chore. So we opted for a robot vacuum to handle the daily pick up, and follow up with our Dyson Animal upright every few days. We tried a Roomba S7+ and an S9+, mainly because of the large capacity self-emptying dust bins. The S7+ died within a week; the first time it ran over a pile of dog poo. The S9+ arrived with a defect in the lid, and every time it bumped into a wall the lid popped open, and it stopped running. Which meant it never completed a cleaning cycle. Thank goodness for Amazon’s return policy, as both were returned. I then read a review about this model, and purchased it. It has been a godsend. It does a great job of picking up LOTS of dog hair. The CycloneForce dust bin chamber is full to capacity every time it runs. I do have to run it in Turbo mode because otherwise the intake clogs, as it can’t pack the hair in densely enough in it’s internal dust bin. However, in Turbo mode it packs the hair in and keeps running and picking up more hair. Running in Turbo mode at all times causes it to return to the charger to re-charge at least once, and sometimes twice per cleaning. But its worth it to have ALL the hair picked up daily. Or rather nightly. I found it best to schedule it to run nightly when we are asleep, as it doesn’t bother us running around a couple of times per night to finish it’s chore. I have to empty the dust bin every morning, but that takes less than a minute. I wish the Samsung had a similar self-emptying large capacity dust bin, as I really enjoyed that feature on the S7+. But I found a solution in Turbo mode. And we have to keep the incontinent dog put up at night so there are no more mishaps. Another nice feature for pet owners, is that the Samsung seems to be quite a bit more gentle than the Roomba about running into obstacles, be they walls or pet feet. Or even human feet. The Roomba charged into everything full speed ahead, which the dogs did not appreciate at all. The Samsung slows and gently noses about, and politely diverts its path if it encounters one of our stubborn pets in its way. Most of our dogs give it a wide berth, but they do not fear it or bark at it as they did the Roomba. This has proven to be the best solution for our needs, and we are well-pleased with it’s ability to pick up dog hair from both the hardwood floor and our throw rugs. I highly recommend it for animal lovers.

OK cleaning but creepy poor software, not return to base
By Paul Z on Reviewed in the United States on July 12, 2021
Does a vacuum really require access over the internet to your contacts, photos, videos and correspondence? Samsung believes it is entitled to all your personal information and as a byproduct expose it to any hacker/government that gains access to their servers. Automatically signs you up for difficult to remove Samsung cloud backup. Poor quality instructions on getting software. Software will not load onto a tablet!(apparently they can not steal enough personal information from a tablet) . Will not work over 5GHz wifi or even over 2.2GHz wifi if your router pairs it with 5GHz for efficiency(smart choice or similar). Dumbest "smart vac", I've ever had. Robot rarely finds its way back to base-shut off vacuum and wandered house for a while before voice announce that it can't find its base and shutting down. Since it does not have enough battery to do first floor in a single pass, shutting down means it forgets where it left off and can not clean the rest. Poor battery life and extremely long recharge time. Manual remote supplied with unit: primitive but do not have to agree to surrender first born and allow vacuum to access all your personal information and send it to Samsung. Positives: Strong suction option-but strongest setting drains battery quickly and is load. Good dustbin emptying. Pops up and easy to empty without getting debris everywhere.
