Good crochet set
By Surella on Reviewed in the United States on June 6, 2025
I am a beginner in crochet. I bought this set because it has pretty much all the sizes of hooks you could ever want. The price is great too. In a certain big box superstore that starts with a W, they had a hook set that had about half as many hooks and sizes of hooks for $30. It didn't come with a case either, or the yarn needles or stitch markers. So I feel like I got a great deal with this kit. I recommend this crochet kit to anyone wanting to crochet.

Slight issue
By Ragamuffin.EX on Reviewed in the United States on May 21, 2025
Edit: so that slight texture on the stem of the hook is troublesome. I imagine on acrylic yarn it's not quite as noticeable, but on cotton yarn it makes going through the stitch more difficult than it should be. Today I used the 5mm hook, which has the texture more than my 4.5, and it made it VERY difficult to use. I just went back to the 4.5 Pretty disappointed. So I got these today, so may come back with a change of heart Firstly, they feel so much better to use than the metal ones which I was using before. These have nice handles, nice and comfortable. I got the 12 pack. The colors on the handles are nice and it's a very good variety of sizes. My complaint is the finish. There is a very mild texture of some sort on the rods. Not the hooks luckily. Those are smooth. But when you go further through a stitch, you can feel the yarn drag a bit. Not enough to cause any issues. Just enough to feel and get mild heebie-jeebies. But other than the rod, the hook does slip in nicely. The hooks are wonderful. I don't know why but the hooks on my metal ones had a lot of technical difficulties, exacerbated by me being a beginner. (Losing the thread while pulling through, separating the threads themselves) These ones seem to have less issues. This was 9.99, so I can't expect perfection. Hence only docking one star for the texture. But otherwise it's a great deal.

Great for arthritic hands!

I love this kit! I haven’t crocheted for quite some time due to my hands being arthritic; hooks I’ve tried without the added “cushion” were not working for me. My Daughter ordered this kit for me and I couldn’t be happier! I love the case, the row / stitch markers, the small scissors (which makes it easier when traveling). Everything fits neatly and seems to be great quality! Recommend! 5 stars!

This set is genius! I love how there are so many different variety of crochet hooks. All of these hooks are durable and they do not catch on the yarn. And I love that the hooks are metal and not plastic so they have a little bit of weight to them in the cushioning on the handle is very nice as well. The plastic space holders are very nice. They do not catch and they slide into the yarn, super easily.

I have been crocheting more than fifty years, and because of some arthritis and a recent hand injury, I decided to switch to ergonomic hooks. These feel good in my hand, and are so colorful!
Some great, some not so great

What's good is great. I vasilated about how to rate these. I only needed a 1.5mm (left mine behind on a trip). I also wanted to replace my old steel hooks (both Boye and Bates) with ergonomic types. Individual hooks of high quality and reputation tend to be expensive so thought I'd take a chance on this set. 40+ years crochet experience. Most of the hooks are great. 11 hooks from E-3.5mm to N-10mm. All smooth, yarn glides nicely. Handles comfortable, well marked with both black "printed" on one side and recessed unpainted on the other. The remaining ten hooks, .5mm through 2.75 are mostly good, but a couple have mfg defects. Fortunately, the 1.5 I was after is perfect. The 1.0mm hook has a rough area in the hook, might be able to smooth out. The 1.25 mm has a malformed hook area that renders it useless. These aren't sizes I typically use, so this isn't a problem for me. The markings on the ten smaller hooks are only the recessed type and a bit difficult to see. I've used a fine tip pen to make them easier to read. The case is decent enough, with elastic loops to hold each hook in its place, and a netted section that helps hold the hooks in place. It zips closed and I'll likely use it, although I hadn't originally planned to. Comes with a good pair of snipping scissors that I like and fits into case. Overall I'm happy with the purchase. Great price, mostly good hooks. But they fall down on the smaller hooks' quality control. I'll guess it's hit and miss as to which and how many hooks are good in other sets. But if you're looking for 3.5 and larger hooks, you'll likely have good luck. Again, the price on these for the quality of the good (and numerous) hooks is excellent.

I'm watching my co worker crochet with these crochet hooks. She won't hush up about how awesome they are and that there was a lot of needles. I think she is pleased.
Handles make all the difference

I've been knitting for several years and decided that I wanted to try to crochet. I had picked up crochet needles along the way as they were sometimes included in knitting supplies I had purchased. So when I started to crochet, I was just using the regular metal crochet hooks. I had finished one crochet project and was on a second one and I really wasn't very happy using the metal crochet hooks. It was then that I remembered the rubber handle hooks that had come with the Woobles. I pulled out that hook and it was just so much more comfortable and made it easier to grip and hold. I found this set and it was perfect. It has all of the hook sizes that you could possibly need and the storage case is a great plus. I also like that all of the hooks have the sizes printed on the handles. So far I'm really enjoying these hooks and I think they are a good bang for your buck

I quit crocheting some time ago because of trouble gripping the metal hooks, plus I’d get cramps in my hand (probably from having to grip so tightly). These hooks have me able to crochet again, which I am enjoying so much! Tip: I took a picture of them lined up by size which I saved to my knitting file on my iPad. Now I can very quickly find the size I need by color.

Yes, I am very happy with my crochet hooks. I am a beginner and there are several sizes for me to choose from in this package. The comfortable grip helps as well, because I am in my 60s and my hands hurt sometimes.

The hooks are all pretty sturdy and have been working beautifully for the projects that required them. They glide with the acrylic yarn and are a good length to keep my hand from aching. The stitch markers are a tad more flimsy than what I'm used to but work fine (none have broken yet which is a huge plus). All in all a very good purchase.
