Every member of our family loves it! A hit every time.

First, it’s underwhelming when you open it. It’s just a white board with some markers but when you connect to your iPad, be prepared for a wonderful and fun creative experience. The board is quite thick and easy to clean and the markets work great. The $50+ price tag includes the experience and not just the board so I would say it’s worth the money. I got this as a Christmas gift for my 5 year old along with the Osmo Genius Kit after seeing a good price around Black Friday because of how cool it looked. I was however kinda scared when I read the negative reviews after purchasing and wanted to return it but saw it could not be returned. It is so interactive and funny. The monster reminds me of Sully from Monster’s ink and it’s super immersive! It tells your kid to draw different items and then the drawings become a part of the screen and the monster interacts with the drawing. It also helps my daughter sharpen her drawing skills and deepen her creativity. We all love it! Cross your fingers and hope nothing goes wrong because if everything goes right, you and your kid are going to love it. See video posted for evidence of awesomeness!

Overpriced for what you get, with overly delicate markers

I bought this for my 5YO's birthday because she used Osmo at school and she loves to draw. We got the genius kit for our Kindle Fire Tablet and then this one with the iPad base, so we could switch them out and two kids play at once on different tablets. Within 15 minutes of drawing, my daughter had ruined two of the 4 markers that came with the set just by pushing down as she sketched. We use various types of markers nearly daily, and this doesn't happen to our other art supplies. It was disappointing as I now have to find replacement markers and spend more money basically immediately. Second, while the white board is nice and feels sturdy, I didn't realize you don't even need their board to play any of the games it advertises for this set. I found this out because my son saw my daughter playing the monster game and wanted to do it on his tablet at the same time. Turns out a generic white board or even piece of white paper works! I wanted a second base but the value for my money would have been better if I bought one of the other starter or little genius kits instead since it would expand the number of games we can actually play with pieces we don't have and can't easily substitute with a much cheaper solution.
