Very nice basic tablet.

I gave this tablet a 5-star rating because it works as advertised. I knew what kind of tablet I wanted and this certainly fits the bill. I wanted a simple tablet for surfing the internet; reading the news; keeping notes and my calendar. It is also good for social media video chatting on Google Duo or Facebook Messenger or Zoom Etc. The 8-inch screen is perfect for me. Much easier than using my cell phone. And easier to carry around than a larger tablet. This is not the tablet to do a lot of advanced or professional graphics. The battery life definitely is good; the touch screen works very well; and if you are Android phone user this will seem like an old friend. The speaker work OK but not really loud. Get a small Bluetooth speaker or earbuds if you want to listen to music. Make sure to get yourself a nice case to protect it and to provide you with a better grip. I suggest the Moko lightweight case which is under $10. The Amazon Fire HD tablet is nice as well but I wanted the full Android flexibity. So overall, this is a great entry level tablet for general use. The price was fantastic. And on the second day, it upgraded to Android 10. I recommend this tablet.

Ok tablet let down by a tragically poor screen.

I bought three of these because they're cheap. I wanted to replace an aging fleet of Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 tablets. First the good: - It is indeed about 1.5-2x as fast as the Tab S 8.4 - It has MILES more battery life than the older tablets - Build quality is solid - Does what it's supposed to do Now the bad: - Color saturation on all thee tablets is *terrible*, colors are washed out and dull - Touchscreen isn't all that responsive - Samsung's Android skin is very heavy handed A bit more: Really, I don't know how they got away with using such a poor LCD panel on these units. If you've ever seen a 2nd generation iPad Mini Retina, this has the same effect, only about 3x as bad. For example, there is no red on this screen—the closest you get is a kind of pink. There are no deep, dark blues—only light pastel blues. No deep, dark greens. Hold this up against any other device display, or especially up against the AMOLED display in older Samsung tablets and you nearly want to return it right away. I'll hang onto these because they're significantly faster, have much longer battery life, and are current, supported models. But SHAME on Samsung for killing what would have been a very nice tablet with a terrible LCD panel that makes the whole world look pastel.
