Time saver, all-in-one cooking appliance
By Cassandra Sharda on Reviewed in the United States on February 28, 2025
Love my insta pot. I have narcolepsy and thus typically have very little energy to complete basic daily tasks. This has been a time saver and makes it easy for me to cook a week’s worth of meals with very little effort and few dirty dishes. This cooker can be used for anything from soups to roast, and can be used to make one serving or many. I only with the aluminum exterior was more durable as it dents very easily, and the dents are hard to remove completely. Wish I bought this ages ago!

Customer support fails in the long run
By CraigS on Reviewed in the United States on June 17, 2024
I bought this 3 and half years ago. I love that it's both a pressure cooker and air fryer and 8 Quarts which saves counter space. It performed both functions well The nonstick air fryer pot became uncleanable over time. So like many other accessories, I thought I could buy a replacement from Instant Pot. No such replacement exists. Unfortunately, there are no third-party replacements on the market either. So I was left with having to live with it or buy an entire new unit which was not a palatable idea. Finally after 3 and a half years the unit would shut off immediately when plugging it in. I've always been very careful with it. It was not moved from its place on the countertop. Never stressed the power cord. Never cleaned the internal heating element with anything other than a cloth. It had no contact with water. I contacted support and they did say check the power cord. I did and reseated it and it began to work again. They responded that they have no authorized repair (I can certainly imagine shipping such a heavy unit might make that impractical). Despite doing that they said I shouldn't attempt repair and should replace the unit. Meanwhile, all I did was what they originally suggested in checking the power cord. What they did not do is offer me a discounted refurbished unit or at least a customer loyalty discount on a replacement unit (I bought this on a Prime Day sale). While it was well beyond the warranty I do expect a well cared for unit to last longer than this did. I don't expect that reseating a power cord which is an indication of possible durability issues to result in offer to keep a customer. My warning to you is that they offer no ability to purchase a new nonstick air fryer pot and if the unit fails outside the warranty they offer no discount to replace it to keep a customer happy. While I love the product, the durability beyond the warranty is suspect even when well cared for. If the unit fails beyond one year, they expect you to pay full price for replacement. At that point, you might be motivated to buy a competing brand instead. I do not consider this good customer service.
