Greatly Reduced my cleaning time!
By Tonya on Reviewed in the United States on January 12, 2020
So this is my first robot vac. Like most people, I researched and read reviews before I decided on this particular vac. I admit the fact that it could mop as well attracted my attention. In saying that, I have yet to use that function because I really do enjoy using cleaners and hot water on my floor to sanitize. It just makes me feel better. Onto the funcition I did use. It was really easy to setup and assemble. This coming from someone that cannot put anything together right without a struggle. I think I may have once put a toy house together upside down. After charging for four hours (the white power light blinks while charging) I asked Alexa to have deebot start cleaning and off the little guy went! I have three German Shepnerd dogs so it's important to have something that picks up the extra dogs they shed. It does the job wonderfully! I admit you do have to empty a few times. Just pause and empty. It has drastically reduced cleaning with my upright and for that alone I am happy. It seemed to have a hard time getting back to the charger at first by itself. However, using it a lot seemed somehow to rectify that problem as it now heads back the moment the battery starts to die. I did use the remote a few times just to see how well that works and I was pleased with that as well. The Deebot (or DeeBee as we affectionately call it) is fairly noisy, but it does not bother me. It is more of a loud hum. For me, this quirk is worth living with when it comes to the results I get with using this product. I mention the noise level for those that have little ones or elderly family that live with them that need their naps. So far, I am really enjoying this! For me, the pros outweigh the cons.

A lemon

I got this upon a friend's recommendation back in December. Initially it worked beautifully, cleaned well, responded to instructions and then it started missing areas and would get stuck cleaning on a certain areas. I sent for a replacement. Unfortunately I didn't have a chance to try it out before I left on vacation. When I returned and tried using it, it was far from an improvement. The battery lasted only about 10-15 minutes if at all. It would begin cleaning near the charging station and would stay there for 5 minutes without going anywhere else. It would not respond to commands and would beep repeatedly without any reason. After sitting at the charging station overnight, it would display low battery. Since I missed the return window by 3 days, I couldn't return or exchange it. I called the customer service and after some transferring back and forth got to someone who could help me reboot it by taking the battery out, but this never resolved any issues. Does it work? Kind of? It doesn't leave the floor nearly as clean as the model we got at Costco for another floor. It needs constant checking. Definitely not recommend, especially after trying two of these products. :-( Update 13 months after purchase: several phone calls later, no improvement in performance, so I am guessing it was a faulty battery from the start. Of course, I missed all kinds of deadlines to return it, and ended up taking it to the repair shop where I was quoted $150 for a new battery. Since it was my second Deebot in a row, I would advise you to stay away. The happy month of vacuuming that I got from those two came at a pretty high price for me. I should have acted quickly. Hope you wouldn't even have to since you hopefully will not repeat my mistake and purchase this item. :-(

A Miracle for a Single Working Mother

I gifted this to my mother as an early Christmas gift and, man, does she love it. It cleans the house amazingly and picks up a lot that we couldn’t clean up ourselves with a broom. You can program it to just do the edges of your house, take a random path, or clean a certain spot where it will spin in a circle and slowly expand outward. Of course it sucks that you can’t program a SPECIFIC path for it, but for the price you can’t really complain. I do warn those, however, if you have a dusty house like we do, and your bot magically decides not to turn on or charge, make sure to check the bottom and wipe off the dust on the golden plates. Our house was extremely dusty from us not being able clean up due to school and work, so this may not apply to some people out there, but always keep that in mind in case one day it just decides to not respond. Another con was that it does seem to need a little help to find it’s charging port. You kinda have to make sure it’s close by and maybe direct it in the right direction. Otherwise it docks itself happily. We still need to try out the mopping feature, but I’ll make sure to update this review when we do!
Better than Roomba :)

After owning 2 Roombas I was hesitant about getting a different brand. BUT I am so glad I did. This robot vaccum is quieter than Roomba - all 3 of our dogs hated Roomba because of the noise, they do not even notice Deebot because it is so quiet. It has 2 spinning side brushes (one on each side) that sweep in dirt - where as Roomba has only one missing a lot of dirt and having to cover the same area twice as much. The Deebot seems to clean better in less time. It does not rudely bump into furniture at full speed like Roomba. Deebot notices furniture, structures and walls before bumping into it and slows down way before it gets close and proceeds with a slow speed until it gently bumps the structure or not at all. Our Roombas couldn't find it's way back to its docking stations hald the time, Deebot always knows where to get back to its docking station. I havent had to go around the house searching for it. The bin is pretty big and holds more dust/dirt. The brushes all come off very easily and easier to clean than Roomba. You can also set the suction power and spins per minute, which we couldn't on Roomba. Comes with a remote or you can download and app, can set an auto schedule, mops well. Comes with it's own wifi hot spot so it's not taking any bandwidth from your home wifi. The price for this verses a vaccum and mop 2 in 1 Roomba is a huge difference. It's a cheaper price but not cheaper quality. In my opinion its actually better quality than a Roomba at a similar price which would be their basic one. Roomba was a good experience for our first couple of times - but the Deebot has won us over 100%. Happy buying friends!

I purchased the N79S last spring and LOVE it. I’d have to clean it about every two- three days, sometimes is could even go longer. I have a long haired dog and two cats so it was doing lots of work every day. With that in mind, I decided to get this model and move my old one upstairs since the new one has the mopping function. I’ve had nothing but problems with this newer version. I don’t think it picks up on carpet like the other one, it’s always getting stuck on higher raised items ( the old one doesn’t so that), the new one can never find it’s charging station... probably because it’s only ever tried like 3 times in 3 months because it’s always getting stuck! I haven’t even tried the mopping function because I’m so frustrated with this thing. Lately it will act like it’s vacuuming and then it’ll stop spinning it’s brushes but it’ll still move forward. I’ll attach a video. The app says “Main Brush Tangled” this main brush is NEVER tangled. I’ve tried resetting and turning off and on but literally every day I’m getting this darn error. Then eventually the whole machine just quits (again not finding its charger). I MIGHT have found a small fix. I’ll flip the vacuum over and take a wet q-tip to the little camera sensors and clean this off. I’m doing this I can sometimes get 10-30min if uninterrupted clean time. Again, my old one never had so many problems! For over $200 I cannot believe how poor this machine works.

We bought this DeeBot 6 months ago and we love it so much. Playing with the kids in the back yard or going to the grocery while it runs all the while KNOWING that all the dirt and dust in your house is getting sucked up is an amazing feeling. Then you empty out the collector and see ALL THE DIRT AND DUST that was effortlessly cleaned from your home is seriously the best. We don’t have a massive house (1,700sq feet) so we initially thought we wouldn’t need one of these. But the Black Friday deal was so good, we couldn’t pass it up. And now I’ll tell anyone, even if your house isn’t huge, you’ll love having this thing! Mostly our first floor is all hardwood so the Deebot cleans the whole thing effortlessly. We usually let it run the length of its charge, 2 hours, but it doesn’t need all 2 hours to get it clean. We use it for the upstairs and the basement too. On carpet and on hardwood. It is very easy, VERY easy to use. My only little knock on it is that it doesn’t read rugs when using the mopping feature. Like, it would cruise right over a rug and get it wet if you let it. Not a big deal for us. We let it mop our basement where there are no rugs and just mop upstairs by ourselves. But if you don’t have many rugs or could role them up really quick, the mopping feature works great.

18-month review 1 - Setup and syncing to app worked perfectly. I liked that the suction could be adjusted (although it was always ran on normal) 2 - Area to be cleaned. - Kitchen and dining area - hardwood floors - Entry area and living room - carpet 3 - Typical workload - Basics - Dust, hair, etc. The usual household stuff. Nothing out of the ordinary - Cats - Litter tracked out of box (which was in laundry - not in vacuum zone) and fur that had been shed 4 - Work days - I had the vacuum set to start on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings at 7PM 5 - Unit #1 - With everything set, out of the box performance was great. The app kept up the cleaning log and would tell me how long the unit ran, etc. Initial run was 115 minutes. Phenomenal! The dust bin filled about halfway, as the rooms weren't filthy. We used the robot as a preventative so that we could skip our weekly vacuuming and knock it down to almost monthly. After emptying the bin the first time, we were able to cut back to emptying it every Friday evening. At this time, we would go ahead and wash out the filter and bin so that, on Monday, everything was starting off practically brand new... or so we thought. - After the first month, the run time had been cut to close to 90 minutes. - 3 months into the schedule, about 60 minutes... almost half of the original runtime. - At 8 months, it was running about 15 minutes before shutting off in the middle of the floor. We would have to carry it back to the charger, sit it about 1 foot away, turn it off, turn it back on, and quickly hit the home button on the remote. It would creep to the charger, where the lights would flash for about 3 seconds, and then shut it self off completely. Occasionally, a random beep was heard but the unit never again synced to the wifi. Without this, the app was useless. 6 - Warranty Service - Contacted Ecovacs with issue and they sent me a completely new unit. I returned the old unit. Service was great. Everything went smoothly. 7 - Unit #2 - As with #1, everything started out great. The rest of the saga went EXACTLY like the first. - Now, 8 months into this unit, I have the same issue. Occasional beep but basically useless. 8 - Warranty Service? - I am now told that the warranty starts with the purchase of the first unit, not the replacement. As I am outside the 1-year window, it is now on me to get it repaired. - They suggested IFIXROBOT (which I would pay for). This company does offer a 200-day warranty on their work but I believe the repair would only last long enough, as both of my units fail after this time. FINAL THOUGHTS - If you can get a good deal on these robots, go for it BUT I would expect them to fail after 8 months time. Please use this to calculate their worth. For me, sending my current unit off for repairs is not worth it. I will most likely return to our weekly chore and be thankful for the brief reprieve that each unit offered. - There is a $20 battery available that I may try, as I believe this to be the culprit in my units. I'll update this review, if I go that route.
Good price entry level robot vacuum

This is a great basic robotic vacuum finally got it hooked up to the Wi-Fi and programmed pretty decent suction goes over my medium shag area rug with no trouble. Cleans my vinyl wood plank flooring well, the mop feature is really only a damp pad and a very light cleaning but it's useful. The price was right and I purchased it mainly because of that. I was not sure how it would work with my home configuration and furniture. I have a two-story house and I do take it upstairs where there's partial carpet and the vinyl wood flooring as well and it doesn't get stuck and works very well on the carpet which is a low/ medium pile. I like that it'll go under the beds. I'm always surprised what's in the dust cup when it's finished. ###Update10/16/2020 ###UPDATE### Sad to report experiencing problems with the DEEBOT not running as long having a random audible beep while charging and not responsive at times. For sure it runs out of battery within 20 mins of run time and won't respond at times with remote or button on device I have to turn on and off to get it to respond. Manual says random beep I am hearing though out the day is a the roller brush is tangled and needs cleaning, which I did but still beeping...a lot of money to spend for something that functioned less than a year. Quite a ordeal to send in videos and information to Support but still trying!

It is not noisy - even in high mode it could not be said to be noisy - it IS a vacuum and compared to anything I have ever owned that can actually vacuum something well it is Super quiet by comparison. It hooked up to wifi fairly easy - I just needed to remember the 2.4ghz password (nearly every router or signal amplifier delivers both 2.4 and 5 so it is not an issue for pretty much anyone that understands that). It did a perimeter clean very well and it really gets close but around everything - all I needed to do was be sure everything like socks and cords were off the floor - it cleaned very well and moved up to the staircase several times and backed away with no problem - my 12 year old named him Flyboy and surprisingly our Rat Terrier Merlin had no problem with this incredible newcomer moving around. I went downstairs for a few hours and found it later parked in its charger and half full of lots of dog hair and fine dust - it did a great job and has a nice big hepa filtered dust bin! (we had recently vacuumed the entire area and mopped it so I did not expect much) We have this is the upper salon and galley with adjoining pilot house of our yacht - only about 600sqft and I am pleased as can be. I had it set to do a cleaning on Friday and Monday and it started up ready to go on Friday - but my son turned him off - I forgot to set it at 5am instead of 5pm! The phone app is easy to use and easy to program but it is not particularly intuitive and if you try playing around with it some things will come up that non-tech types will probably give up on. If for instance you try connecting to the device from your phone while in 5gz it will keep coming back with (data no received or sent or something like that) but there seems to be no indicator regarding if you are connected or not - I finally just changed to the 2.5gz signal on my phone and within seconds I was connected. We have an air cleaner in the main salon and since Flyboy did its job we have not seen any bad air warnings on the air cleaner. Also - when Flyboy is working it apparently does not push into the air a bunch of dust or the air cleaner would certainly go to an orange or red colored led indicator of poor air quality. I have no idea how it would be for carpets and I have not used the mop function yet and I am not sure I will - but if I do I will leave a review. For hard floors this has to be a clear value and I know it has about twice the dustbin capacity of the ones I looked at at my friends home. btw - I did one sweep with it on low - which is very quiet and it got almost everything - then found out it has a high mode and ran it again and it did pick up some more but very little - though since it is not really much louder in high mode and I programmed it to run very early each morning that it does run - I will have it on high. Added note - really enjoying this ! Will conduct decibel test soon - but keep in mind - it is easy to program this to clean while you are away or asleep.
Battery died in less than a year, customer service scam

I purchased this vacuum earlier this year on Amazon. It worked decently for a lower-end robotic vacuum. It doesn't intelligently map your room, it just bops around and cleans whatever is in its path. I was satisfied for the most part. However, within a few months, the battery life started to significantly deteriorate. And within less than a year, the vacuum could hardly run 10-15 minutes before dying (down from almost 90 mins of runtime). I reached out to their customer service department. They told me the vacuum was under warranty and sent me a shipping label to get the unit fixed. "Great!," I thought. They followed up with a lengthy list of convoluted instructions, one of which was to clean the unit and remove accessories (specifically mentioning the dustbin). The exact wording was, "It will be highly appreciated if all accessories, including dust bin, can be removed from the machine before returning to our repair center." "No problem!" I thought. I spent some time cleaning up the unit, took off the dust bin and put it in safekeeping, and shipped off the vacuum to the tech gods to fix. Upon receiving my "fixed" unit, the main rotating brush on the bottom of the vacuum was missing, rendering the vacuum useless. I reached back out and said, "hey, I am sorry, but I think they must have forgotten to reinstall the brush while fixing it, can you please ship it back out to me?" I received an email back from their customer service department that essentially said "sorry you were supposed to keep this part at home, so we are not going to send you the brush." And then proceeded to forward me a link to their parts store to purchase a $50 "parts pack" that includes the brush they neglected to put back on. What's frustrating is their instructions specifically mentioned removing the dustbin (which makes sense) but did NOT specifically mention removing the brush at the bottom. In my mind, I interpreted "accessories" to be the charging dock and the additional mop attachment... you know, things not necessarily attached to the unit itself. Who would have ever thought to remove the built-in brush at the bottom of the unit? And even if someone did leave it on mistakenly, is it really *that* difficult to put it back on when finishing up the repair? To me, it seems like they intentionally left that part off in order to make me purchase their extremely overpriced "parts pack". This definitely wasn't the first time this has happened either, because they were very quick to reply with a canned "gotcha!" email and a link to their parts store. When I called to reconcile the matter, they continued to put the blame on me and essentially left it at "we'll discuss the possibility of sending that part back to you." I am deeply disappointed with how the matter was handled. In fact, it compelled me to write this review (which I rarely ever do). If you are investing a chunk of change into a product and want to make sure that you will be supported when something goes wrong, I can safely say this product is not the one for you. Look for a company that values its customers and does not try to take advantage of them. I hope this helps with your purchase decision!
