Easy to set up, see, functional, modern appeal, speaks time at a push of a button. Great gift idea
By DJL on Reviewed in the United States on January 26, 2020
Very easy to set up just turn it on and follow the directions. At any given time I can look up and like the idea of being able to see the time of day or night...with a push of a button it will speak the time, day etc. I hung my clock on the wall and you can adjust the brightness of the clock so it won't be so bright at night. I will not using these functions but it is capable of setting alarms, birthdays, personal medication time etc. I also think it would also be nice to use at the bedside, living room, kitchen etc. Everything you would like to program into the clock can be locked so you don't loose what you programmed by pushing odd buttons by mistake. I've been so busy therefore I haven't had the time to check for battery usage which would be nice if there's a power outage (don't see battery slots)...yet though I do see underneath a slot for what looks like for a micro disc and a usb charger??.... when time allows I'll come back later to comment...as of right now I just wanted a simple functional modern looking clock that was large and visible enough to look up at during the night and go right back to sleep without moving around to much to focus in on the size of the numbers of the displayed time. This clock does that for me and then some! I would definitely recommend for someone who has a little trouble keeping up with the time of day, a little trouble seeing and hearing. It does show the date, time month and year and if it's morning, afternoon, evening, night or am. It also has military time if you like. I think it would be a great purchase for a gift to someone also. You can't go wrong with this one.

DST and Talking Clock feature disappointing and too U.S. focused
By The User Experience Reviewer on Reviewed in the United States on January 10, 2025
The good: * Good display. * Easy to set up * Lots of display languages * Showing what part of day it is (Morning, evening, etc.) is fantastic. * They thought of a lot of things, like locking the settings so they can't be changed accidentally. The bad: * Considering they invested so much in displaying many languages, it was very disappointing that the talking clock remains in English only, and there's no mention or acknowledgement of this in the manual or in the product page. If it can display a language, it should also be able to speak it when stating the time. * It's marketed as automatic DST that you don't have to adjust manually. In reality, you can choose Auto DST for US or Europe. For any other country you would have to activate DST yourself. Disappointing. * Entering birthdays and events is really nice, however it is very exhausting. You have to type everything in using a virtual keyboard that you need to navigate by using left, right, up, down buttons, so it takes forever. Plus, you need to enter an alarm time for each individual birthday, and it will default to the current minutes each time, so you have to change the time for each birthday. just have a universal time for alarms and allow to override a specific one if necessary. And maybe allow connecting a keyboard through the USB to save set up time. Or better yet, have an app or something that allows you to create events and sync to the device. Could be better: * The buttons are incredibly hard and clicky. Maybe the reasoning is to not allow them to be easily pressed accidentally, but this makes every setup and change really annoying. * The two main buttons that will likely be used the most are the nap button and the talking time button. Despite that, they do not differ from the rest of the buttons. Not in size, not in color and not in feel. I believe they should have had visiable indications or label on the front, or at least be bigger and colorful to draw attention. As they are, I believe my father won't remember which does what, and will have a hard time seeing, feeling them, or remembring what they do. ************* Update: The customer service team contacted me to enquire about my comments. They mentioned they will pass on the information to the development team and offered a partial refund. I'm happy to see that the product is backed by an active and receptive company, and am looking forward to having some of my issues improved with future software updates or hardware iterations. Thanks!
