Epare Salt or Pepper Grinder

I purchased one of these quite a while back to use as a pepper grinder. I liked it so much, I bought a second for sea salt. I ended up moving and had it packed away for a few years (I thought I lost it in transit, but it was in a box I hadn't unpacked that I forgot it was put in) I was happy to find it and put it back to use. After a few weeks, the button popped out one one of the units. The whole mechanism came apart (During my move it was packed well and not manhandled in any way. The box it was in was in one spot in the new home, until it was rediscovered). I tried to get the spring back in and get the button back to normal but I couldn't get it. I wrote to the company and explained what happened. They advised me to buy another as the model is also improved. Since I did like the way the product worked I went ahead and did that. (I had bought a cheaper two unit similar grinder after I lost these two, but they never performed as well). What I missed in all this, is the fact that the package it comes in says it has a lifetime warranty. They never pursued any avenue of questions or concerns to confirm that my broken unit could or should be covered by their supposed warranty. So, though the product in general, when it works and doesn't fall apart, is pretty good. At least it worked better than the cheaper set I bought to replace it in the meantime, as that is all I have to compare it to. But, the fact that when I told them about the problem of it falling apart after years of non-use, their only response was buy another one. Some lifetime warranty. For this reason I have to give it only one star, as they do not back their product as they claim. I did not bring this up to them and even forgot to leave this review sooner, as I don't think I should have to waste my time to get a company to back their product as they should have in the beginning. They got another sale out of me and I hope it was worth it for them, as I won't be buying anything else from them or be recommending them to anyone else. Integrity is as important as product quality from a company, and one does not outweigh they other. (Let's not forget, this unit did fall apart on me and it was not from abuse. I barely use them in my kitchen, and it was packed away for a couple of years, then fell apart in a few weeks during normal use. This also leaves the quality of construction in question).
