Epare Salt or Pepper Grinder

This electric pepper grinder (4 AA batteries) works beautifully and is an elegant design for your table. It has a light so that upon pressing the button to activate, the light comes on to illuminate the food (good idea in dimly lit conditions) as you apply the pepper. We are very pleased with this purchase. UPDATE: I purchased this electric pepper grinder from Amazon in the spring of 2014, a year ago as I write this update. After several weeks of use, I wrote the following Amazon review, giving 5 stars: `'This electric pepper grinder (4 AA batteries) works beautifully and is an elegant design for your table. It has a light so that upon pressing the button to activate, the light comes on to illuminate the food (good idea in dimly lit conditions) as you apply the pepper. We are very pleased with this purchase.'' After several months of use, a peppercorn became lodged in the grinding mechanism, and I tried to pry it out with a toothpick, but without success. So I disassembled the grinding mechanism and took the offending peppercorn out. But to my chagrin I couldn't remember how the pieces fit together and after several abortive attempts, decided to request the re-assembly instructions from the manufacturer. I did so through Amazon. The next thing that happened: The manufacturer, Epare, sent me a brand-new pepper grinder, same model. Now, keep in mind the problem was MY fault, and I had NOT requested a replacement - only instructions for putting my grinder back together. Over several decades, my wife and I have had occasional problems with merchandise of one kind or another, and stores and manufacturers have responded with varying degrees of customer support, from poor to excellent. However, this was a first - no questions asked product replacement without our even asking for it. Needless to say, we were extremely pleased. And we still LOVE our Epare pepper grinder!
