This is my experience using the @molekuleair now for a couple weeks. I always provide my honest review and feedback because I believe in being transparent with these sorts of things. .. With two dogs, no matter how much you clean, deep vacuum the carpets, and bathe them, there's always going to be that leftover dog smell. Or at the very least a feeling of stuffiness in the air, especially when pollen is high and the weather is constantly changing like it has here in Florida. .. .. I am remarkably surprised at how much more fresher our inside air feels when you take that deep breath. I honestly did not have high hopes for this little machine. I am especially surprised at how well it has covered our living areas as we have an open floor plan. I personally have sneezed less and haven't been as stuffy since we set up the air purifier. I would sneeze at least a dozen times every other day because of my allergies. I am not saying I have been healed because I'm not a medical expert. But I can tell you my allergies while in the house have not been as bad and it comes at a great time as we are all under social distancing orders. .. .. Easy to set up. Lightweight. You can even control it with an app. I didn't get around to using it as it tells you everything on the purifier itself. It has a minimalist look and will blend in well with any decor. I was amazed by how quiet it is at most settings. The very last setting is the loudest but I think you would set this in another room or when you leave the house. .. .. If I had to change one thing it would be that it have two handles instead of one. If I am an older person or someone that needs both hands to lift this, it would be easier to carry with two handles or a longer one that spreads from side to the other. .. .. Ultimately, I would recommend this mini air purifier by @molekuleair. See full video in use at IG | Noah_and_Lincoln

Air Putrefier

I don’t enjoy writing scathing reviews, but some companies seem to be working hard to earn them. I’m posting this in the hope that it will spare someone else the lousy experience I had with this product and the disingenuous company that makes it. The Molekule Air Mini emitted an offensive chemical smell out of the box that persisted for hours, at which point I turned it off. After contacting Molekule support, I got this reply: “As with any new product, your Molekule air purifier will have been exposed to dust and other contaminants during the warehousing and shipping of the device. When you first turn on the device you may notice a slight odor as it starts to run. This effect is called offgassing, and is caused by the release of gases that have been trapped or absorbed in the device during this transit period. Please note that Molekule’s technology is capable of breaking these things down, and we aim to minimize this initial offgassing as much as possible. If the smell continue (sic) after the initial period, we can always replace the PECO-Filter for your Molekule Air Mini for free, which we believe should remedy the issue.” I was creative director of a leading advertising/marketing/PR firm in Orlando for years. I know damage control when I see it. “As with any new product?” I have never bought any new device, including any air purifier, that produced a smell so noxious, it probably could be weaponized—what Molekule refers to as a “slight odor” I “may notice.” “Dust” does not produce off-gassing. Furthermore, there was no visible dust on the unit or even the box, and the filter came sealed in plastic. What sort of gases would be ”trapped or absorbed” in the device during warehousing and shipping? And 24-48 hours for this to clear out? Most likely, the odor is caused by the PECO technology, which is at best controversial, the hype notwithstanding. (“Hype” is not an overstatement. According to the New York Times, Molekule was challenged before the National Advertising Division in a case brought by Dyson for making 26 false claims in their advertising. Dyson prevailed, and most of the NAD’s findings were upheld on appeal.) Finally, wouldn’t a replacement filter also have gases, dust, and other contaminants “trapped or absorbed” during warehousing and shipping? Off-gassing can be toxic. This is supposed to be an air purifier. It’s hard to imagine an engineering/manufacturing failure that rivals production of an air purifier that stinks up the room and leaves you breathing in god-knows-what. My concern is that the Air Mini poses the same health risks as any product that off-gasses—and I’m supposed to leave this thing on, spewing nasty air, for 1-2 days in my house? Yes, the design is standout, industrial, minimalist, Apple quality, blah blah blah. Don’t be fooled by the pretty face. It only makes purchasing and having to return this debacle all the more disappointing. People who invest hundreds of dollars in air purifiers take air quality seriously. They deserve a far sight better than to find themselves dealing with foul, noxious vapors and a company that unabashedly tries to spin this deal-breaking defect into business-as-usual in a tour de force of “alternative facts.” Buyer, these days more than ever, beware. Returned.

Incredible results. And I live in a home full of mold from the basement to the roof.

June 9, 2020 Works great. It is Loud on settings 4&5 but what I did to clean the air in a specifically bad area was, I left it on high for 3 days with the doors closed. Way better in here and no more need to use higher settings while I'm in the room. UPDATE Dec 29, 2020 The yellow light came on last night and not having read up on the instructions, I jumped the gun and unplugged it for its first filter replacement. I have to say, I noticed an immediate change in my bedrooms air.. Let me clarify. I live with my in-laws as they are both nearing 80, father in-law had open heart surgery, neither can lift over 10 pounds and on and on the list of necessary help goes. We unfortunately were unaware of just how badly they've neglected their home for the past 40+ years and we found ourselves stuck after the pandemic hit, unable to relocate from this very literal nest of mold. Extremely unfortunate for me in particular as I am the sole resident who is beyond sensitive to this toxic air. I was experiencing a litany of horrible symptoms, the worst being random bouts of debilitating nausea, day in day out brain fog, reduced cognitive capabilities, and increasingly embarrassing, painful skin and hair conditions. Of course, the less time I spend here, the better I feel. The virus has me all but locked in. This little machine has drastically improved my quality of life. I keep it in the room(s) I spend most of my time and I get fresh air daily.. The cold makes that more intermittent so, another update is on the horizon. So far, another 5 ⭐'s after 6 months of use. And an even stronger and higher recommendation. Beyond intuitive. You'll feel and see just from putting your hands and eyes on the packaging that you've spent your money extremely well.
Best Air Purifier Technology on the Market

I was looking for an air purifier that could handle the terrible air pollution from a natural gas peaker power plant that has really been polluting the air with horrible smelly particulates and smokey output. It is nasty stuff that invades my home through my open and even closed windows leaving behind its exhaust odor all night long when you want the cooling breezes inside your home instead. This air purifier really does the job. I have a couple of digital pollution monitors that I bought which shows exactly how bad the air pollution is in my home. I was pleasantly surprised how well this Molekule air purifier does the job of lowering the particulate and AQI numbers to extremely low values. Yes it does seem to leave behind a slight odor of its own when operating in a closed-up room, but I simply leave the door ajar and it allows some air in from the hallway to mix with the air inside making the purifier odors disappear. You will sacrifice some low pollution numbers for the pleasure of eliminating some odor but I find that the trade-off isn't so bad as the Molekule still does a great job of freshening the air and eliminating any noticeable air pollution in the process. This unit really does what it says it can do!
It does work, in my honest opinion

During the forest fires of 2020 in Oregon our AQI hit 600 at times. I purchased a molekule mini as a knee jerk sorta purchase without doing too much research. By the time it made it to my house I had read up on it and was already extremely skeptical of its abilities. Many online review sources hate these things, and I suppose if their tests are true I understand their opinions. That said, when the air in my home was stifling with smoke, it did really help- and now many weeks later we continue to run it in our infants nursery and his room has the easiest to breath, cleanest, most pleasing air in the house. I have a Blueair fan in our bedroom now as well and it helps too, but the molekule seems to do a better job. It’s not a scientific review, just my own observations- but their is something to the molekule. It really does seem to clean the air. I don’t know much of the science behind it, their seems to be quite a bit of controversy about how it works, or if it works... I will say, that in my experience, it works. It’s initial first day or two it sorta released a plastic smell. If you are sensitive to that sorta thing, well, maybe don’t buy one. Didn’t bother me, but I was also living in some of the worst air pollution the US has seen, so... Also initially the setup was really stupid and my wife had to call the company to get them to help her get it running. Apparently you have to screw it together REALLY tight to get it to run, and that leads some people into believing they got a defective unit. Also the fan in it, when you turn it way up, is unbelievably loud. So we leave it right in the middle on fan speed and it’s fine. Also, this thing isn’t cheap, and you can get a whole bunch of other air purifiers for less. However, I think this thing actually does what they claim it does- though my claims are just anecdotal based on my experience.

I’ve very happy with my Molekule mini. It’s absolutely as described and now FDA cleared. The packaging is the best. Very clear instructions for initial setup and use. One of the biggest selling points for me was the PECO filter. It’s much better than HEPA. It uses and active system to destroy contaminates. It’s 110/220v so great for international use. I bought it for our home in Peru. Winter is coming and mold is and issue. The unit is very quiet on the first 3 levels. 4 and 5 are a bit noisy in a quiet room. There is a noticeable smell for the first hour or so after running it for the first time with a new filter. Another great feature is that it uses a hardware check to make sure you’re not using a knockoff filter. It’s very easy to move from room to room. Not too heavy and the strap is convenient. The app setup and registration of a new molekule is very simple and straightforward. I’ve read a lot of complaints about the iOS app and was concerned. Fortunately I didn’t have any issues and really like being able to control it remotely. As mentioned, the one con is that it can be a bit loud on the highest setting.

First of all you can’t overlook the undeniable beauty of the elegant yet compact and light design. The purifier is super easy to setup. It literally took a minute to install the filter and start our journey to better indoor quality air. I love that the cord length is adjustable and that the unit isn’t covered in dyes and paint. The little felt handle is one of my favorite features...it adds an element of warmth and style. Molekule Air Mini is portable, and easy to move around the home. Love that I can just pick it up with ease and move it to where I need it. We’ve had the Molekule Air Mini for approximately 4 weeks and it has drastically increased the quality of air in our home. It has alleviated most of my seasonal allergy symptoms and as an added bonus it removes odors from cooking every night. I feel comfort in knowing that the PECO filter captures pollutants and particles 1,000 times smaller than what traditional HEPA filters catch...and that it uses light to actually break down pollutants into non harmful components instead of just capturing and potentially recirculating through the home. If I could I would have one of these air purifiers in every room of my home.
Great Once You Learn How to Set It Up

Like others have commented, I too had trouble setting mine up. I thought for SURE I had followed the directions correctly and that I had a defective unit. I had boxed it up to send back but then tried once more. After putting the lid on it, you REALLY have to turn the lid hard...which is difficult to do because of the design. I ended up using the felt handle on the side to help me get a better grip and pull it. Doing that finally worked and my unit turned on. You do hear it click and if you haven't heard a good click, you didn't turn it hard enough. The intial set-up process, although frustrating, was worth it. I really like the product and feel like it is working well in our home. It has a number of different settings so you can adjust the volume level on the inner fan to one that works for you. I plan to put ours in the nursery for the new baby to help with germs and odor. Because on the highest setting it can be moderately loud, it eliminates the need for a white noise machine in the baby's room, which is an added plus for me!
Modern, minimalist design but too pricey

First of all, I almost returned it because it didn't turn on the first two, three times I tried to set up the device. I read someone had a problem turning it on and thought I received a defective one too. But after I carefully followed the steps once again, it worked. I suppose I didn't press the shell all the way down, therefore it was not connected and couldn't be turned on. It caught my eye right after I saw the product. The minimalist design, which is one reason why I love it, has its pros and cons. The Molekule Mini Air Purifier only has one button to control fan speed and on/off. The indicator light goes away after a few seconds. Since it is fairly quiet when it is on the lowest fan speed, I often forget the device is on for there's no indication light. I get it that they "suggest" to leave it on 24/7 for fresh air. But I personally don't see the point of having it on the whole day specially we usually have windows open during warmer months. There's also no sleep mode. The Air Mini does not connect to WiFi or use the app, and yet it says in the manual that it doe emit WiFi signals. So what is the point? What's stopping them to allow the Air Mini to connect to WiFi and use the app now? Honestly I'm not even sure if it does make significant difference to the air quality since I have no means to measure the air quality. I do "feel" it's cleaner sometimes, but could it be just a placebo effect? The price tag of $399 + taxes for the Air Mini seems to be high considering it is made in China. But the quality is very high; that I will agree. Will I buy it again? Not for the full price..
Loud and a bit smelly

We got the Molekule Mini in a hurry when Seattle got blanketed in smoke this summer. We have a toddler and were hoping to at least keep her room's air quality good since she spends the majority of her time sleeping in there. The Molekule was the one purifier we could get within a day or two, so we went for it. The unit looks great, fits nicely in a corner of her room, and is easy to set up (as it should be). We turned it on full blast (setting 5) - and it's loud. Really loud. It's hard to have a conversation in the same room loud. Cycling through the settings: 1 - silent 2 - barely audible 3 - tolerable in the same room 4 - annoyingly loud 5 - intolerably loud We've kept it on the 2 setting in her room, and I can't imagine it's doing much because I can barely feel the air it's moving. I should have returned it, but I did use it on 3 and 4 for a couple days in my tiny home office when I was getting headaches. I think it helped. In addition to the noise, it also emits a noticeable smell. It mellowed out after a couple days, but a month later it's still there if I put my nose pretty close to it. It's not exactly the smell of clean (after some rain, our aqi was 1 outside, and I know exactly what the smells like), but rather of something synthetic. I'm not going to claim it's harmful but it is a bit off-putting. We've since purchased two Blue Air 411 purifiers (3 Blue Airs cost less than one Molekule, and the replacement filters are similarly cheaper too) and they have none of the smell. They're comparable on sound volume, though the quality of the sound is better. The Molekule's has an extra high-pitched whine.
