Works great for mashed potatoes. It also can double as a potato ricer for making gnocchi.

Not good for mashing anything with substance

After reading reviews decided this would do the job. I was mashing cooked grapes for jelly and halfway through the handle collapsed. I guess I leaned too hard to one side and the thing caved in. I was able to carefully reposition it and thought I would use it for mashed potatoes at Thanksgiving but rethinking that now.
