GREAT Companion for 6-8 year old kids + Pop-A-Shot Buddy!!!! (for Dad)
By Superstars5 on Reviewed in the United States on October 21, 2020
Perfect toy companion for my son who loves robots, Legos and tech stuff. We took the MIP robot on a road trip and it was a blast playing with MIP in the hotel with my son. (much better than having everyone stare at their own screen). Since we can't go to Chuck E Cheese to play the Pop-A-Shot basketball game, it's pretty cool that you can play this with MIP. Having been a previous owner of MIP, this newest version fixes all the previous flaws (i.e. robot is pretty stable and difficult to tip over). The iOS pp was easy to install and worked right away. Best to use an iPad and make sure bluetooth is on but connection with iPad and MIP was super easy & simple. The MIP also has some brain games including a "SIMON" like Mattel memory game which brings back childhood memories. There were so many other apps and games but didn't have a chance to try them out. Will save them for a future road trip or occasion as we want him to enjoy his companion for a long time!

Hours of tinnitus! Dogs will love it!
By Miss Know It All on Reviewed in the United States on July 6, 2021
Turned on to hear a high pitched shrill like a dog whistle but one I could hear. Could also be compared to ringing in your ears by choice, so your kid can have fun. It's movements are not smooth. Fails in comparison to the older mip. Jerky rolling that causes it to continually fall. Save the money and get something else. Or just get the older model it is super fun. You have to "unlock" features on this one, so it HAS to be played with meaning hours of tinnitus. Emojis have to be unlocked, etc. Poor quality overall. App is more difficult to command mip with, and often non responsive, leading to more falling. He does say ouch every time you pick him up, probably due most of his time faceplanting. It will not roll on carpet. We had to get a giant piece of cardboard for it to be played with in a bedroom. The last model did roll on carpet making it easy to play with anywhere. If you have dogs who are sensitive to high pitched noises, they will also chime in to add to this little bundle of mip. Hard pass. Not sure if it's faulty or Wowee turned a deaf ear to this one on a budget crunch. Not worth what was paid. Not worth the literal headache that comes with it.
