We bought this Level 3 puzzle for our beagle-bassett puppy because she was inhaling her food like it was a speed-eating contest, then running off to rob our older dogs of their dinners. Clearly, we needed a distraction, a challenge, and maybe a miracle. Despite all the advice to “work up to Level 3,” we said, “Nah, she’s smart. Let’s do this.” And we were right. I had to show her how it worked once. After that, it was game on. Within days she was sliding tiles, flipping pieces, and proudly claiming her kibble like a tiny genius. The best part? She loved it. It slowed her down, kept her busy, and even curbed the food theft (a win for everyone involved). Now that she's older, we've switched back to open feeding—but whenever I pull this puzzle out, she gets all wiggly with excitement, like it's her favorite toy and dinner plate rolled into one.
