Lousy door - Amazon will not accept it as a return - Asurion Insurance can not be used

As soon as we took it out of the box the hinges for the door seemed sticky. Last night we open the oven door and now the door will not close. I took out Asurion insurance from Amazon, but Amazon tells me it is still covered under the manufacturers warranty. It is not eligible to return because too much time has passed since I received it. However it is too soon to use the Asurion insurance. I just want my money back for a defective product.
