Modern Metal and Wood 3 Drawer Desk

I was so impressed that every piece of the desk and every piece of hardware to assemble it were labels clearly and the I instruction pages were written well, referenced the identifiers for each part needed, and had VERY clearly drab pictures. I did run into a few bumps though. First, some hardware bags have 2 hardware items inside, with no identifier to tell you which is which. Usually, per the instructions and photos, it’s obvious, but the G/H bag is the same hardware in 2 lengths. I had to go back to the front hardware description page to figure out which was G and which was H. They could either print a little drawing of the pieces with the letter next to them, on the hardware bags, or the instruction page using that part could have a drawing to make it clear. My second small complaint was that the Allen wrench needed for putting in some pieces was packaged with hardware that didn’t even use an allen wrench. It would make a lot more sense to package it with the first piece of hardware it needs to be used to put in. Now on to a couple of more serious issues. You build a metal frame first and then attach it to the wooden desk top. However, there are 2 issues I had with this. The first issue, that I had on both desks, is that once you start to attach the frame on one side, it really becomes difficult to get the holes on the other pieces of metal to align with the holes they go into. I would recommend trying to get hardware into all the metal holes and just grip into the wood for all pieces before tightening down on any of these. The second issue was one I only had on one desk was that one of the “receivers” for hardware to screw into on the desk too was sunk too deep. The metal piece I was trying to attach wouldn’t flex down at all (it’s sturdy!), and the piece it wanted me to use (G) just wouldn’t reach. Thankfully they included spare parts so I was able to just swap it for a longer version of that bolt (H) and it worked. Overall, this was one of the easiest furniture builds I’ve done. Instructions and part labeling are great (with a couple of small areas for improvement). They look great and will give my kids plenty of space to work! I’m happy with my purchase!
