Dirty Little Paws Inflatable Dog Collar

I had really high hopes for this donut as an alternative to the e-cone after my Golden Retriever was neutered, but unfortunately it just didn’t work for us. My boy is 70lbs and we got the recommended size large for both his breed and neck circumference. We looped his collar through it and it seemed to work and he liked it so much better than the cone. The problem came when I was walking him and he laid down, managed to get his front paws between the donut and his neck and pushed with his paws while pulling back and slipped it off. Since his leash was attached to his collar, which was attached to the donut, which was now laying in the grass and not on my dog- it was a panicky moment. He still seemed much more comfortable in the donut compared to the cone, so when we were inside we kept on trying to make it work. But once he got it off the first time he slid it off constantly. So, unfortunately this just wasn’t compatible with our pup. Maybe if I had tried a smaller size the outcome would have been different? It worked while it was on to keep him from getting to his stitches so maybe if your dog is not as determined to get it off- it may work for you. Three stars for the design and the idea- I really wish we had been able to use it for the duration of his recovery.
