The window to see your food makes this unit golden!

One thing I have always hater about air fryers is that you kind of have to have faith in your timing and temps. Not anymore. Now you can see exactly what is going on inside your fryer! As many have said, you are supposed to leave the silicone stoppers on the tray. They will not burn. They are made out of the same material as silicone cupcake trays. This unit gets up to 400 degrees and the melt point for them is above that. I ran mine outside for about 20 minutes for 3 repetitions. This burnt off the factory smell. Which smells like various chemicals like plastic and electronics. After this I reheated some French fries and after that it smelled like whatever I put into it. The nice thing about the rubber stoppers is that they hold the tray in place when you pull the basket out to shake and/or flip your food. So, I've put burgers into it and then flipped them like a chef would in the pan. The same with French fries. Their smaller unit doesn't have these stoppers so if you do that it would also flip the tray around. When it is time to flip you don't cancel/stop the machine. You just pull the basket out and flip the food and then return it into the machine. It will then begin where it left off. One caveat is that if you kept pulling it out to flip at minute 3, before the entire minute is over, it will perpetually stay on minute 3. So it isn't keeping track of minutes + seconds when you flip the food, it just begins again at zero seconds for the minute you were on. The basket is huge. You can easily cook two big steaks in there. The 3.x quart unit used to do 3 breaded pork chops for me. This one does 7. And does them much quicker too. I cannot say enough how great it is to have the window to see the food. With this information and a couple of quick glances every few minutes you can gain information for future uses on how much time or temp is needed for different foods. Cleaning on all of their units is super easy. I use hot soapy water and a no scratch dish scrubber with a Teflon pad. Everything comes right off easy and no scratches.

Airfryers are convection ovens that seem to flavor food with 100% natural plastic flavoring
By Tool Junkie on Reviewed in the United States on May 9, 2021
I especially enjoyed the simplicity of the interface. While yes there are presets such as chicken, fries, meat, and fish (I always thought fish was meat but I do not eat fish so maybe 'stience' has redefined fish since I was a child and no one told me), the user can easily chose his own temp and time using simply touch buttons. I prepared chicken wings, fries, jalapeno poppers, a hamburger, chicken cutlets, veggies, and hashbrowns in mine, which all came out perfectly cooked. Sadly, I cannot use this machine in my kitchen because my kitchen was wired in 1974 and has 14ga Romex wiring, which means the 14.66A that this machine demands (using my Fluke equipment to verify) is too much for my 15A wiring and breakers while running a LED clock on the same circuit. It REALLY does draw 14.66A!!!! My 3 phase milling machine only draws 8A, my table saw only draws 9A, and my welding maching is a 12A unit for comparison. My actual kitchen oven only draws 8.9A. I had to run this in my machine shop because there is 12ga Romex (20A) out there. My main issue with this miniature convection oven is that everything has a hint of plastic flavor. Just a wisp, just a hint, but the plastic flavor is there. I like the ease of use of these devices, but I think I would rather spend $1500 on a new Bosch convection oven (because air fryers really are nothing but convection ovens) instead of $100-200 on another air fryer considering the cost of operation (electrical draw) and the plastic taste. UPDATE - I originally gave two stars as this technically does work; however, I have removed one star because China-zon refuses to give back my money despite having received the returned item over TWELVE days ago.
