Works well on a cat

I use it on the barn cat employee at the Stable. He REALLY gets thick, dense hair in the winter so I thought I'd help him out when he was still rather thick coated in late Spring and it was getting hotter. He tolerates being brushed with it (for a few minutes anyway). I like how it is very easy to push that button and eject the hair easy and quick in one flat mat. I would like it to be a little bit less wide for cat use. It still is a bit large for a cat body (and this cat is about medium size, but muscular), so one designed just for cats that would be about an inch less wide would be better as a cat brush to get in tight places. But it still gets a lot of hair off as it is.

Works well at getting matted hair out

The brush works well at getting out matter hair, and I really like that it is self-cleaning. But be very careful using this on small long-haired dogs like Shelties. They have areas which are too sensitive to pull this brush through with the long bristles. It would he helpful if there were one or two intermediate slots to vary the bristle length for very matted, very long-haired, small or very sensitive dogs. When I pushed the button in part way to make the bristles shorter he could tolerated it much better. But it is a very effective brush and so easy to clean.
