The Best in Air Fryers
By Jay Rider on Reviewed in the United States on September 20, 2024
The Ninja dual heat Zone Air Fryer is a powerhouse in our kitchen, especially with kids who love using it constantly! This air fryer has quickly become a favorite because of its ease of use, versatility, and durability. Despite it’s daily use for over a year, it continues to work like a champ. The large capacity is perfect for families, and the crisping results are always spot-on, whether it’s fries, reheating chicken, or just warming up veggies. It's also incredibly easy to clean, which is a must with kids who use it frequently. The baskets are dishwasher safe, and even after months of heavy use, theirs is little sign of wear and tear. The controls are intuitive enough that even my kids can handle it without any issues, and it has quickly become their go-to for snacks and quick meals. If you're looking for a durable, family-friendly air fryer that can keep up with heavy use, the Ninja Dual heat Air Fryer is worth every penny!

Nearly Perfect, Expensive, Air Fryer/Toaster Oven
By JV on Reviewed in the United States on April 12, 2022
If this toaster oven were $100 cheaper it would be five stars no question- this is my favorite thing I've ever given less than five stars to, and I still wholeheartedly recommend it! The unit is amazing, it is easy to use, it works well, it looks nice, it comes with decent accessories, all the modes and options are great (I do have a gripe about the quantity though). Basically everything you expect to be great- is, but the finishing touches on this do not match it's price. - My unit had mess/debris/grease from manufacturer all over the exterior, I had to scrub, some of it didn't come off. It looks fine enough after some work, but that's not over $300 appliance level. - Off gassing: The manual "suggests" one empty cook cycle to burn off any manufacturer remnants (not unusual). I had to do about three washings and four or five 20-minute cycles and the smell was so bad I felt I had to lock the pets away. Either the manual is wrong, or the manufacturer is having problems. This does not impact the oven once done- I use mine with no smell or concern once cleaning was complete, I just spent a lot of time cleaning it. - Open Heating Elements: With previous units I've noticed the heating elements are better protected, as in you physically couldn't drip or leak onto them. On this one the covers are small and perforated and any drip around the heating element will get onto the heating element. I've started leaving the searing pan in as a drip tray to see how that works. - Door Gap: Something about the way the door is designed and placed, everytime I open and close the door it's crunching and releasing crumbs out the bottom through the gap. Minor issue, but again, that's the kind of thing I expect from a random cheap toaster I grab at the store, not something at this price point. - Modes: I know it's good advertising for brands to say "13-in-1" but for the love of God I just want to heat things up. Just give me basic control over heat distribution, this burner on this one off, fans on or off, instead of 13 modes I have to think about and consult the manual to see which specific accessories are recommended for the mode, each time I cook something I'm not used to. Overall I do really like the unit. The size is awkward but worked well for my space. I do wish the highest tier model was slightly bigger and just ditched the flip function. I haven't tried cooking large things, but from eyeballing it I really think just another inch in height would vastly expand your options. If you are planning to use the flip function I will say WOW, I obviously tested it and it is very simple and well designed. The problems I have are in comparing this to previous units that I just felt had a lot more polish to them despite similar price points. Two specific prepurchase concerns I had after reading reviews... - Exterior Heat: Yes the outside obviously gets hot, it's a small oven. No, it is not unusual. The people who say it gets insanely hot are not comparing it apples-to-apples, every other similar unit is going to get similarity hot. The back needs a little space but has some bulk that keeps you from pushing it directly against the wall anyway. The sides you should give the standard at least couple inches. The top gets warm but will need minimal air space. The oven appears to only exhaust air out the sides (where you want maximum space), heat from the rear (and top) appears to be purely transfer through the metal. - Plug: The plug is normal! My last toaster oven in particular had this giant bulky plug that meant I couldn't run it through my cabinets like normal (a common complaint I've seen for that entire brand). This one fit right through, and is small enough that you could comfortably and easily drill a hole to run the cable. Obviously it's still a large three prong, but it is not unusually large like some competitors.

I got this on Prime day to find an alternative to using my standard range oven during the summers, and to save energy while cooking small batches of food now that my kids have left home. This multi-tasking oven did not disappoint! The variety of settings are perfect for customizing the cooking to what I need at any point. I mostly use air roast and air fry settings. Air roast cooks chicken thighs perfectly in just 20 minutes, and they are crisp outside while staying moist and tender inside. The air fry setting works well on chicken tenders, brussels sprouts, and more. The bake setting is great for simple sheet pans of roasted veggies, and the other settings are still to be explored. I love that this can stow away in my cabinet between uses, and it doesn't heat the whole house up in the summer.

I had an air fryer and two toasters taking up a lot of space on the kitchen counter. Our kitchen isn't really big, and there isn't a lot of room in the cabinets left. We are a family of four adults. I was looking into an airfryer with toaster and backing function. We don't necessarily need the oven part of the range all the time. Checking reviews and functions, I came upon this Ninja Foodi. Hey, now I can leave my toaster oven with convection in storage, because this Foodi does it all. Oh, the griddle can go away too, more space in the cabinet. So I was able to replace the four lichen appliances with one. You can tilt it up once it's cooled down and have space on the counter. It works fantastic, we use it every morning for breakfast, making toast, baking bread or rolls. The airfyer works great, our old one was starting to get covered in the oil from the food and no manner of cleaning and scrubbing was getting rid of it. The Foodi is much easier to clean, I hand-wash everything, you can use a brush on the basket and it takes residue off easily. There hasn't been any issue with food sticking to anything. The recipe book gives you clear instructions on how to use it. All the modes are perfectly described and easy to follow.

Only have had this for a bit over a month. So far very happy with it. This replaced a medium sized tabletop convection oven/toaster and using for “frying” instead of a micro/convection/air fryer combo and an oil deep fryer. PROS: ++Very good with frozen foods like French fries etc ++Large capacity air fryer basket. Especially helpful when doing large number of items since a deep fryer may only take a few minutes to fry something when this might take 20. ++Great for spur of the moment cravings for French fries or tator tots without having to pull out deep fryer, fill with oil, wait for it to heat up, fry, then clean up, strain oil, etc ++Does a good job with toasting- not the best with evenness but perfectly acceptable. I mainly eat sliced rounds of sourdough bread, so much larger than “regular” bread so they will not fit in a pop up type toaster. It definitely does a better faster job of toasting than the convection/toaster oven it replaced. ++Love the temperature probe. I even took a chance on cooking thick ribeye steaks in it. Used the sear tray and turned the steaks over half way through cooking. Put the temp probe in the steak before starting and the oven turned itself off at the correct temperature and after letting the steaks rest as usual after cooking, they came out perfectly medium rare with a decent crust on the outside. Though not quite as good as a cast iron pan or a grill they came out great. Also the temp probe temperature matched my instant read thermometer. ++Love that it has an oven light that you can turn on and see what’s going on inside. Especially helpful to me when doing toast. As I haven’t yet gotten used to the proper setting (time) for toasting ++Like that it will store upright to free up counter space. I just put the three trays inside then fold it up. I hadn’t realized how much space that the oven it replaced took up. CONS: —Made fried chicken. I like chicken thighs so they have a lot of fat in them. I breaded them as usual and did two batches. I used the temp probe which was very helpful but the chicken only came out so so. It was edible but no where near what deep frying in oil would do. Chicken itself was cooked and juicy but the breading had much to be desired. Biggest issue is that there is nowhere for the fat and juices to go except drop onto the lower heating elements and bottom pull out ‘crumb tray’ — It is not easy to clean. After doing chicken and the steaks trying to clean the inside was a frustrating time consuming effort. After I had done the chicken, I cleaned it as well as I could then ended up running the oven at 500 degrees for about an hour to burn off the residue remaining. Filled the house with smoke but got most of the residue out. Still see ‘stains’ where stuff/fat had splattered. — The glass in the door is inset so when you pull out the fry basket or toast, the crumbs just fall into the deep set window, it’s like a pool that just catches everything. OVERALL: I am really happy I purchased this. The large capacity, toasting and to my surprise -when cooking two steaks that were almost $60- cooks steaks satisfactory++ though not as good as a grill. The temp probe accurately shuts down the oven when cooking. Do have to obviously adjust cooking time with prepared frozen foods/French fries etc due to freezer temperature. The freezer in my refrigerator is at about 28 degrees while my deep freezer sits at about -5 degrees. Does a good job at toasting bread. Folds up to save on counter space. Without being too picky about it since still on a learning curve on how to use it… biggest problem is it is not easy to clean, the deep set window in the door that catches every darn crumb and no ‘drip tray’ to catch juices from air fryer basket. Overall impression of frying.. it’s great at prepared foods from freezer section at grocery store, it does take longer than deep frying in oil but less mess (French fries, etc) But for fresh made things like fried chicken, I’m going to have to use my Dutch oven on the stove to deep fry instead of using the air fryer, especially since I already gave my deep fryer away.
Expensive, but worth it.

This thing is the bomb-diddly. I like my counter tops clean and clutter-free, and normal air fryers just take up too much space to leave out. This tip-up function is pure genius. You get a huge interior air fryer, toaster oven, or dehydrator that only takes up a fraction of its in-use size when in the upright position. The light didn’t work on the first one delivered, so it was returned and replaced. The packaging is very good, but the light bulb itself might be incandescent as opposed to a tougher and longer-lasting LED. I don’t really know, but it didn’t work. The controls on this are very intuitive, and the many functions are effective and easy to use. There are two LED panels on the face of the oven, and they both have large, easy-to-read numbers and letters. I love that there is a “target temp” and an “actual temp” reading. I also love that you can turn the light on inside at any time to see what’s going on in there without opening and letting all the heat out. The basket holds a ton of food, but you should keep whatever you put in there in a single layer. Still, it can cook 2 or 3 times what average air fryers can cook in a single go. The three heating elements evenly span the entire bottom, and we haven’t noticed any hot spots or had to carefully place bread to get an even toast. It just works, and it works well. You get an air fryer pan, a toast rack, and a very heavy, nonstick baking pan that can be used for anything from frying eggs to baking biscuits to cooking a steak. One thing to note is that the heavy pan must be removed from the oven if using either of the other two cooking pans because the heating elements are on the bottom and would be blocked by that. We haven’t had a chance to use the temperature probe yet, but it appears well-made. The little silicone rubber flap that covers the hole is not great; it’s hard to get closed properly and likes to come out at the slightest touch, but it’s not a big deal. The probe and cord wrap around a magnetic keeper that you can store on the oven itself, so you can find them when you need them. I think my favorite thing about this is that it flips up and out of the way when not in use. When you’re done cooking, the convection fan on the right side continues to run for about 15 minutes until it’s cooled enough to tip up. When it is cool enough, the display says “Flip”. The fan is very quiet, and unless you live in a monastery, you won’t even notice it’s running unless you get right up on it. There’s a crumb- and grease-catching tray at the bottom, which is easy to remove. We’ve wrapped it in aluminum foil, and that’s been working well. The manual says not to use any chemicals other than dish soap, and no scrubbing pads or anything other than a soft cloth. That’s not typically enough to fully clean (to my standards) the interior after grease from air frying has been baked on, so the flip function not only works well for reclaiming space but also to keep your guests from seeing a less-than-spotless oven. Bottom Line: I love this thing, and we use it all the time. We no longer need a toaster, a toaster oven, an air fryer, or a dehydrator. Yes, it’s expensive, but it’s worth it. I hope this helps!

I am currently on day 2 of owning this thing so, really, consider this a first impressions review. Firstly, the main draw: The flip-up feature. This really is a game changer and was chief amongst my reasons to buy this particular oven. I am happy to report that this feature works very well and gains me back a good amount of countertop space. It fits like a GLOVE flipped away under my wall cabinets. If you have low hanging wall cabinets, however, you'd do well to take a measure before purchasing to ensure you have access to this feature. This is what sets it apart from other products IMO. Secondly: The power cord. Its bad. Specifically, when plugged in, the power cord extends straight out from the wall and I think the manufacturer absolutely, positively should have opted for a low profile plug-in, especially since this is designed to flip-up to stow away. This is a serious negative as you're not able to place this in front of the power socket its plugged into without the front of the oven protruding past the countertop and nearly falling off. If you have a very small kitchen, take a moment to be sure you'll have adequate room. Finally, the real test: Cooking. So far, I have only reheated refrigerated pizza and air-fried some cheese sticks. To that end, this thing is a beast. The controls were easy enough to figure out without needing the manual. It has a great pre-heat feature which only starts running the timer after it gets to temperature, which is FAST. When set to 450F, pre-heating was less than 2 minutes. I was impressed. The food came out exactly as I hoped. They aren't kidding though, watch your food carefully when you first get it. Use the light. It can quickly burn your food if you're not familiar with convection and don't understand the lower cook times. My only other negative is theoretical: Cleaning. I don't think it will be TOO difficult, as the bottom tray is easy to lift out, but if you DON'T clean regularly I can easily see crumbs and debris piling up in the back when the oven is flipped up. I think the solution is probably just being proactive with cleaning it. For the lazy, maybe avoid this one. Overall impressions are very very good and, at the time I'm writing this, I'm not mad at the $170 sale price either. Go, Ninja, Go.

We got this to replace a toaster oven that was not heating up good in our condo. It works so good, we almost wishing out countertop convection oven in out other home will also die so we can get one there too. This thing is really fast. Extremely quick preheat for baking. While it doesn't say "convection bake", it cooks like a convection bake oven. We've found that recipes need to be adjusted 25 degrees cooler or will overcook just like a convection oven. Almost eliminates the need for a big oven, seems only limited by its size. Using the sear pan, meats cook way faster than in the big over and seem to cook evenly, no tough outside or cool insides. Also does a great job with pizzas. One improvement that could be made would be to have a flat plug that takes up less room so the unit could be pushed closer to the wall. The cord limits how close to the call it will go.

As a Vine reviewer, I've had access to try a LOT of different air fryer ovens over the past couple of years. I've always been on the hunt for that perfect multifunctional device that I could use for most anything, and every attempt until now has been a failure. This particular oven is SO much more than it appears. First of all, the flip-up design of the oven is such a winner. When the oven's not in use, simply flip it up and out of the way and regain all of that lost countertop space. It easily flips down when you need to use it. This oven includes the searing plate, which works perfectly for everything I've tried. I did some ribeye steaks in this, and they turned out perfect. It takes longer for the searing plate to heat up, but the system tells you when it's ready to use. Speaking of heating up... if you're using the Air Bake feature, expect to wait 1-2 minutes until it's ready to go. Yep, this heats up faster than anything I've tried. It bakes evenly... while it's not very deep, you can bake a cake in it and it comes out perfectly baked. I use it for almost everything. My biggest complaint is that it's not as deep as I would like, as the depth prevents you from using it for some things. Roasting a whole chicken is likely not an option unless the bird is really small. I honestly didn't expect much from the Air Fryer feature... I've found that the best air fryers usually have the fan at the top of the unit blowing downward, while the fan in this unit is on the side. However, I've used this repeatedly as an Air Fryer and I can state that it actually browns more evenly than any other air fryer I've tried. By the way, this thing is nearly silent! In Air Fry mode you can barely hear the fan operating, but at any other time it's almost completely silent. The case of the unit does heat up when it's in use, but not nearly as much as the other ovens I've tried. Cleaning the unit is easy. I've been amazed at how easily it wipes out. I had a pizza that dripped cheese onto the heating elements, and I expected a nightmare to clean it once it cooled. However, a few quick swipes and it was as good as new; totally unexpected. The reviews don't lie, this is a winner and I would buy it again in a heartbeat. I've retired all of the other air fryers and countertop ovens to the basement and I would prefer to use this any day over my built-in KitchenAid Architect series oven.

This Multi-cooker Ninja does not disappoint 👍 Wow! As a guy who can't cook if his life depended on it, this little guy is a game changer on versatility and ease of use. You literally set it and forget it. It starts to heat to desired temperature of your choosing. Choose from a host of preset items like pizza etc. A cook list and temp is provided for air frying fries. Bake, Broil, Sear. Made some burgers and the depth of the unit allows for a lot mire than my previous toaster oven. It has internal fan that stays on after meal is done to properly cool down the oven. From waffles, breakfast sausages, gourmet burgers and sausages/hot dogs, pizzas, Steaks.-, air fryer all in one for Salmon too👍 Clean up and mobility is second to none it opens in back and front for cleaning plus it stands up out of the way if you wish. We took it outside for small grilling instead of our large built-in outdoors stoves and it just pops a sound when you are ready to devour the juicy burgers and treats. Highly recommended

I’ve had this amazing oven for 5 months now. I wanted to wait to give a review so I would have a chance to give an honest review. I spent a year checking out reviews on many different air fryers because I don’t have a much money left over after paying monthly expenses, and I kept coming back to this one due to the wonderful reviews and the space saving abilities. I am so glad I took the plunge and spent the money, this has been a godsend. I cook so much more since I have the convince of having this at counter level. I don’t have to consistently bend over and lift heavy pans of food out of a large oven with my bad back and arthritis. The food cooks beautifully. I use this everyday. My whole family lives the way it air fry’s, air roasts, bakes, toast, broils, and reheats, I have never tried the dehydrator mode. Most of my cooking is on air fry’s, air roast, toast, and reheat. I have made pizzas, chicken both breaded and boneless, skinless, salmon, steaks, stuffed shells, stuffed peppers, meatloaf, baked ham, roasted turkey breast, smoked sausage, grilled cheese sandwiches with and without ham, taco rings, ham and cheese croissants, chocolate filled croissants, Christmas cookies, pies, and so much more, and it all turned out amazing!! And I also love the 13” x 13” size roasting and grilling sheet pans, I also purchased the roasting pan. The only thing I am not crazy about is it is hard to clean and keep clean as I like my things sparkling clean. For the reviews stating it gets rusty inside, that my dear is baked on grease, I have the same issue inside the fan and on the top inside. But since I can tilt it up and out of sight I’m willing to live with this because the amazing baking results out weigh this issue. ATTN. NINJA MANUFACTURER…. It would be great if the developers of these types of air fry ovens would use a nonstick interior, or self cleaning function, or at least have a specialized cleaner that would remove this baked on grease.
