Clever and handy for the cramped kitchen
By Leslie Noland on Reviewed in the United States on September 6, 2021
I live in Assisted Living so my apartment doesn't have a full kitchen -- I have only a microwave. While I usually eat in the dining room, I have sometimes eaten in my room (particularly because of the pandemic). When I finish eating, I wash the dishes so they will be clean when the CNA comes for them. I only have a single sink; my counter is mostly loaded, and I never had a place to dry the dishes. This seems like the perfect solution.I love that it rolls up so not only can I roll it up to stow it away, but I can roll up one end to control how much of the sink space it takes (with only my dishes, I don't need a lot of drying space). Since I don't currently have any real dishes, I included a picture with paper plates and plastic utensils to give an idea of actual usage. They also indicated that it could be used as a cooling rack/trivet for pans and dishes up to 400 degrees. While I have no hot pans, that gave me an idea. Rather than stowing it away in a drawer, I am leaving it on the counter in front of my microwave -- if I remove a dish which is too hot to carry, I can just set it on the mat and the extra airflow will cool down the dish quickly. It seems sturdy and the construction seems sound. Great idea. I like it.

Don’t leave wet dishes too long
By Chris Cade on Reviewed in the United States on July 5, 2024
Like any drainboard, don’t leave dishes too many dishes to dry for too long or too often. It is best to dry the dishes right away so it doesn’t stay moist too long. Unfortunately, it does get funky like other drainboards, but it is reasonably easier to clean. Considering it rolls out it is relatively easier to use annd reduces countertop real estate and it is mostly durable. Although, without any leveling to it, it becomes crowded. I was surprised with how well it held a decent amount of dishes though.
