To be clear, I do not have any issues with refurbished products as I have purchased many items from Amazon as refurbished. With this item, I purchased one that was not annotated as refurbished and specifically ensured it was of the "new" variety for $129 but was instead shipped a bread maker that was refurbished without our knowledge until we opened it up. We were not too upset about this as we trust Amazon and their products. When we made our first batch, it kneaded properly and rose just as expected. Unfortunately, when it came time to baking, the heating element did not work on it so we were forced to take the dough out and bake it in our oven, which turned out wonderfully. We attempted a second loaf of bread thinking that we somehow could have made a mistake, despite how easy it is to follow the directions. Well, we had the same thing occur. We then started the process of contacting Amazon for our return and we were allowed to return it for a refund of $95.00. This was unacceptable to me and so we decided to just deal with the bread maker in its current state and bake our dough in the oven when the need arises. I am quite sure this product is a wonderful product when working correctly, however in our experience, we were duped with a refurbished one despite ensuring it was a new model to purchase, then we were fleeced by Amazon on the amount of money we wanted refunded. This was our first unpleasant experience with Amazon. Purchasing this item could be hit or miss, so your mileage may vary with this.

We bought this item refurbished. Which was ironic, because we had bought another bread baking machine from a different brand, which didn't work properly on first try but could not be returned for health and safety issues. It was refunded, and we then went ahead and bought this one. Now we have a machine that is better, for half the price! I was very pleasantly surprised at the size. It is definitely compact, and takes up much less counter space. This means the loafs are smaller too, but not too small. I love the feature that you can take out the paddle before it bakes. We are not very precise about the temperature of the ingredients, but every loaf has turned out perfect, so it definitely works for people who don't want to make a science out of baking bread in a bread baking machine. Two small cons: the machine gets very hot to the touch when baking, even the buttons. You will want to make sure it is not within reach of small children. The warnings in the program to add things to your dough, or when it is time to take out the paddle are pretty loud (which is probably only an issue if you're sleeping next to the kitchen and use the timer to bake bread overnight for your breakfast). The machine is not less noisy overall than any other bread baking machine we've owned. It's your usual bread baking machine sound, which means soon you have yummy home made bread on your table! We love our refurbished, like new, bread baking machine, and for such a great price! Would recommend.

The bread maker works as intended and makes a loaf of bread in about 4 hours. Just throw in the ingredients and let it go! It doesn't heat up the kitchen as baking does, and I know exactly what is in the bread. That being said; I don't like the finished product. I tried several recipes and the loaf is so dense and heavy I can't eat it. The size of the loaf is just a giant square and you have to cut it to fit in a toaster. Some may like it just fine, it's just not for me.

First off, the bread machine arrived in near-perfect condition. The finish was clean and fingerprint free with no dings or scratches. The outside of the bread pan was a bit scratched, but it's hardly noticeable and doesn't affect how the product operates. It really fit the description "Like-New" You'd never guess that it was refurbished. And boy, do I love this machine. The unit is beautiful and doesn't take up too much counter space. The compact size is due to the vertical pan, which is another plus because the ingredients mix better and the finished product comes out looking more like a standard loaf. (Once you flip it on its side.) It has the right amount of programs; I use the "dough" one the most. The LED screen shows you not only the time remaining, but also what part of the cycle is happening so there's no guesswork. It beeps to notify you when to add additional ingredients and beeps again to tell you when to remove the paddle if you want less of a hole in the bread. There's also a light so you don't have to open the lid to see how things are progressing. My only complaint is that it's pretty loud, but that's not a big deal. It doesn't bounce on the counter and instead stays firmly in place while kneading. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase. Getting it for $60 off the price of new is just icing on the cake.

I had a Zojirushi before and I was very happy with it. I bought this one because it had a larger capacity and it’s less expensive. I figured out the right quantity of each ingredient by trial and error and the bread it’s pretty good most of the time but not all the time and couple inches at the bottom of it it’s dense and humid. Couldn’t figure it out how to fix this. It’s definitely difficult to use and get a good result
