Exceeded expectations

I previously had a commercial/hotel grade Serta mattress that was a bit too firm for my partner's comfort. I saw this on a Prime Day Deal for $272 for a King sized mattress. I figured this would help tide me over for a little bit until we were able to take the time to properly shop for a new mattress. The reviews on this mattress seemed pretty good so I figured I didn't have much to lose. The bed was delivered next day. As many have mentioned, this bed is pretty heavy, about 150 lbs, but this is lighter than my previous traditional mattress. The bag cutter and instructions were at the bottom of the box, and I unfortunately didn't find until I was breaking down the box for recycling. I used a wrapping paper cutter, which is essentially the same as the cutter provided. I opened it in my living room, but I suggest following the instructions that says to open it where you plan to sleep on it. Many suggest letting it expand for 72 hours to let it fully take shape and outgas and chemical smell. I would say I have it a good 2 hours before sleeping on it. I didn't notice and smell, and I kind of just fluffed up the wonky areas like beating a pillow, which brought the bed to proper shape. The bed is very comfortable. It honestly feels like a normal mattress. My partner loves it, as she needed something softer. I like a bit more support than her, but this works great for both of us. We've had it for about a week, and we're both sleeping great on it. We do have a 4in foam mattress topper on it, so that does make it even softer. As long as this lasts us a few years, this will be well worth it.

Not at all sure about this sleep adventure we've just embarked on. We must not have calibrated our expectations appropriately. "Medium firm" seems to mean rolling into the middle a chip bowl filled with deviled egg 🥚 potato salad. Snoring was intense and seemed to bounce off the rim of the cavern created in the middle of the bed. Sleeping in the edge only created a pour spout for the bed bowl. Sleep night 2 may feel better . Will let you know. Sleep night 2: Jul 26, 2024 After night 1, we woke up determined to get a good night's sleep. It was not on Sleep Night 2, sadly. I tried to stay put, close the edge (to avoid falling into the middle of the bowl). I think the Medium-Firm refers to the firm coils pressed through the medium foam. I felt every one of them. After 2 hours, and still no sleep, I left. Partner continued his snoring, but commented that he didn't ache as much as he did after night one. However, neither he nor I enjoyed a restful, refreshing sleep Night 2. Fingers crossed for Night 3!Sleep Night 3: Jul 27, 2024 With an inconsistent mattress expansion, barely 10” on the corners and almost 11” on the center side, this 12” mattress has less than 2” of foam. This means each night we roll into the salsa bowl of a bed, the foam compresses against the coils leaving neither firm nor foam for restful repose. This mattress is wreaking havoc on our physical and mental well-being. To sum it up: it’s uncomfortable. The Mattress topper does not enhance the experience beyond barely excruciating. July 28, 2024 Not sure we can go on like this! We're crawling out for help! A medium-firm will never get firmer; a firm mattress may, over time, soften. But, if it starts out squishy with considerably sinkage, it will never become more firm.
