Small but powerful.

I’m truly impressed with the output of this little unit. It’s compact, looks nice on the counter bc pumps out nice warm air. I’m in Texas, in an apartment, which is not known for its insulation quality, this little guy warmed up my daughter’s room. It’s quiet, very easy to operate. I love DREO products.

Critical design flaw meets modern design

Update: I bought a second unit and the problem was the same. This did not surprise their email only support. Again, they offer to replace it without inspection or validation of any kind. They know they don't work, and are selling these defective units to you. Shame on them and shame on you for buying one after reading this. Pros: - very quick to heat - good looking - initial build quality seems good - quieter than any portable heater I've owned in 40 years - touch controls are responsive - long power chord - mesh and plastic fan filter is removable and washable - oscillation is also quiet - unit remembers the previous settings used even if powered off or unplugged - temperature display light disappears after 60 seconds of use - great for helping decrease the light it emits in a dark bedroom while sleeping Cons: - This is not a pet/child friendly unit. There's a 3" x 3" area in the middle of the front grille that's VERY hot when in use. Perhaps this is an expected sacrifice for a unit that does produce a great deal of fast heat. - power off operation requires a 30 second count down to cool the unit off (This countdown is displayed) - very minor nuisance - I can confirm that the thermostats are broken, as others have documented in their reviews. I was able to get the unit to shut off once it hit temperature, but it never came back on. Started at 63 F, and nothing occurred. (15 min. - Ambient temperature was 68 F) I then opened the window on a 45 F day to let some nearly direct wind hit it, increased the temperature to 71 F, and nothing. The room was a cold 58 F or 13 degrees cooler than the thermostat setting. The thermostat issue is obviously the deal breaker for me. If I can't keep this in a bedroom overnight, expecting it to turn on again, the room will simply become cold and this is therefore a completely worthless unit. Maybe they've fixed this? Maybe not. Even if they have, they're still selling the defective units, and like me, you won't know which you're getting.
