MY APARTMENT IS CLEEAAAAANNN!!!
By Яeverse on Reviewed in the United States on April 4, 2023
I have been needing a new vacuum for AGES now, my old one only really worked with the handheld suction tube as the main roller head was not working as well as it used to, so this was a long time coming. I saved up and searched around and got this baby b/c of the petmate attachments. I'd just adopted some kitties back in January so my living room, kitchen rugs, and bedrooms were a fuzzy mess from the cats and no proper vacuum to clean up after them. Needless to say I was excited to get this one. I wasted zero time when it arrived to get it out and get cleaning. Putting it together is super easy and intuitive. It's lightweight and swivels nicely as well. Not overly so either like some vacuums that jacknife themselves, this one swivels and allows you to still manage control of it. It has 3 settings on the power button, OFF, No spin on the roller brush and then the roller brush spin setting. So it's easy when you need to go over tiles or hard flooring to turn off the roller brush and flick it back on when you're over carpet again. This vacuum is very powerful for how lightweight it is compared to my other bagless that its replacing. I ended up emptying it halfway through my vacuuming adventure just in case, but the container probably could've stood to be filled a bit further from the point where I emptied it. So I ended up emptying it twice with the container about 75% full of dust and fluff and fur each time. As you can see by the picture that's just from the second emptying, the first is a ball bigger than that below it. My hallway rug changed colors from dulled colors to bright and clean once this thing got to it lol. It got out dirt I didn't realize was still stuck to it! This thing handled all debris like a champ. Fur, loose litter, crumbled paper, a few stray feathers from my pillows, and the different thicknesses of the carpet, and the rugs in my kitchen and hallway. The entire time I was vacuuming I kept laughing and joking to myself that I felt like I was in a friggin TV commercial with how amazed I was at how well this thing was performing and each new feature I discovered with it. LOL. The kitchen rug pictured is a thick almost shag-like rug and the vacuum has a suction power slider that I could have probably used so it didn't have as strong of a suction on that rug as it did, even with the higher power suction it still handled that rug like a champ. It didn't snag or eat the rug at all and got it more clean than I've seen it in years. It was able to travel over and clean any surface in my apartment, linoleum, carpet, thick shag rug, even my yoga mat it breezed over with the brush without scratching it up. Needless to say, I'm super super pleased with this vacuum, holy cow. The only slight issue I had was the petmate attachment that has the little roller; when I was using it on a pillow and the couch cushions I noticed if I pressed down with it, the pressure from the pillows stopped the roller from moving as it seems to be powered by the suction power of the vacuum itself. I'm not sure if I am supposed to vacuum with it in a certain manner to avoid this issue or if it's intentional. The plus side is it means nothing can get damaged and jam it up if it gets pulled in since the roller stops with any solid pressure, I was able to stop it with my hand even without injury. I need to fiddle with that attachment a little more I think to get the hang of it. But the vacuum came with a dual brush attachment as well and one side is a red felt-like bristly brush kind of side and that worked equally as good at getting the fur off the corduroy of the pillows. The handle part of the vacuum detaches from the body to provide you with a spot to hook the attachments to, or you can detach the whole arm wand if you need further reach as well. It's super easy to clean as well as most bagless canister type vacuums are. The thing disassembles so easily with a few button presses that you can reach all the parts without having to tip the whole vacuum over to maintain it. The cannister comes away from the main body, has a flap at the bottom to empty it into the trash and then another button at the top that lets you open the top side of the cannister to pull out the center tube thing and shake off any gathered hair or dust in there as well. The center tube twists to lock into place so be careful you don't yank on it without unlocking it first. You can see the little lock diagram on the inside of it to guide you. It also has a filter at the bottom of where the cannister sits on the body of the vacuum that you can take out to clean and wash. The arm wand that detaches is a comfortable length so I'm not stooping over to reach with it. My only wish is that the main floor roller had a plate that came loose so I can pull the whole roller out for easier cleaning, but unless I unscrew the ENTIRE faceplate, which I don't want to do, I was left with snipping any coiled hair or fuzz from the roller while it was still attached. It wasn't difficult to do as I can detach the vacuum head from the body, but it would be nice to be able to take the roller out in case I want to wash it or something. All in all I am super pleased with the results this vacuum has had on my very dirty apartment, and I couldn't be happier. I definitely recommend getting this vacuum if you're hesitating, it's well worth the money.

HORRIBLE Kenmore warranty if your vacuum fails during the warranty period. SHAME ON KENMORE
By CA & NC on Reviewed in the United States on January 5, 2024
I absolutely loooved this vacuum for the first 6 weeks....right up until the time it died. No problem, I thought, these things happen, it's under warranty and I'll just call Kenmore. A young woman at Kenmore had me repeat my troubleshooting (which I'd already done of course), and then she said it was defective and Kenmore would replace it. She instructed me to cut off the power cord and submit the Vacuum Replacement Form, both of which I did. Then the odyssey started.... One (1) week after emailing the form and photos, I had not received a confirmation email from Kenmore that my form had been received and was in process. I called to verify they had received the form. I spoke with Samantha in Customer Service. She checked with the warranty department, and notified me that my form had been received but it usually takes "about a week" for them to "get around to sending out" the confirmation email. She said once I receive that email, it would take another 3-6 weeks to process the replacement request. Then she explained, they would see what models they have in stock, and how long it would take to get one and ship one out from that point. I asked for a timeframe, she said she couldn't give me one but that it could take "weeks or months" from that point and she would not give me an estimate. So, to recap according to Samantha (who couldn't have been more rude btw)... 1 week to enter the replacement request. Plus 3-6 weeks to process the request. Plus additional weeks to months to locate the model and the replacement vacuum shipped. Which means MONTHS AND MONTHS on end with no vacuum. HOW IS THIS LEGAL??? What kind of a warranty is this?? Will never buy from Kenmore again. Feel like I just wasted my money. I mean, stuff breaks we all know that. That's what warranties are for. But if it takes months on end, then it really isn't a warranty, right?? And how can it be difficult to "find" another vacuum when I can find and purchase the same one all day long on Amazon????? I will NEVER buy this type of thing on Amazon again, either. I'll just buy it at Costco where they have a good return policy if the warranty is useless.

Great Performance and Great Features

I researched vacuums and found they are as good as the motor inside. The more powerful the motor, the more suction you get. I did a filter on Amazon and this unit had the most powerful motor offered by amps. We did a test and let our Roombas clean a room and then went back over the same room with this unit. Were shocked at how much it pulled up. So performance is great. Asf ar as features,we love that the handle can be removed and used to vacuum tight spots and cars and such. There is a short handle and a long handle option. It is also very manuverable with the ball pivot on the bottom. 5 stars.
If you have dogs, this is the vacuum for you

If you have a dog, you know the issues: hair everywhere, hair getting stuck in fibers in rugs and couches, dog treat crumbs everywhere, spilled dog food pieces. My old vacuum couldn't get all the dog hair out of my area rug, spit the treat crumbs around, and had a hard time getting hair against baseboards. This vacuum fixes all of that, with ease. It pulled hair out of the area rug that had probably been dug in for months. Picked up the crumbs without spitting them around. Sucked up dog food pieces. And gets the baseboard hair--out from under the baseboard, not just the stuff sitting next to it. And regardless of the way you orientate the head--the old vacuum was three tries, and straight on only not running by the side of the baseboards. The head is a bit small, but you are actually saving time because you pick stuff up on the first pass, not three. Plus, with the smaller head, I can get it under and around tables and chairs the other vacuum couldn't handle. I saw an online review that this vacuum hits the hard to find sweet spot between keeping suction and head height with space to pick up larger crumbs. If you want to see its related model in action on these tasks, check out Project Farm.

Strong suction, and hair cutters work great

I chose this one over a cheaper Kenmore because this one had a hair cutter system. It worked perfectly, not a single stand of human or dog hair left on the roller. It didn't cut the thick rug thread that got sucked up, but that's my bad. It also does a great job on larger stuff like dog food, that most vacuums push. It also sucks up fine particulate extremely well without clogging the filters. The OEM filters that came with the vacuum seem much denser than the "compatable" filters available here, so I suggest sticking with the Kenmore branded. I'm happy with overall performance, and that the extra cost for the hair system was worth it. The only downside side is the high-pitched whine it makes, which is why it doesn't get 5 stars.
Excellent Dyson replacement

There are so many things I like about this vacuum! The dust canister is large and there are no odd contours for the dirt to get stuck. It will pick up sand and small bits of dirt without shooting it all over the place. The suction is as good or better than my old Dyson. The only sort of downside is that the sweeper head is narrow. It looks odd. If you are sweeping under or around the edge of furniture the attachments will get knocked off. But the small size can be a plus because you can easily sweep between chair legs etc.

We received our new Kenmore vacuum yesterday, 4 days earlier than expected...thank you Amazon! Upon unpackaging our first impressions were that the vacuum was what we expected. It was somewhat more difficult to get everything to "snap" together, but once it was together, it seems on par with other types of vacuums we have looked at. We have had 3 Dyson Animals, 1 of original (lasted 12 years) and 2 balls (each lasted 5 years). Pros: It is easy to move around...turns and goes around furniture easy. Comparable to Dyson ball vacuum. Lightweight and easy to carry around, means easier up and down stairs if your house is multi-level. My kids can easily use it. Length of cord is adequate to not have to move cord every time we move into another room. Suction seems adequate, picks up a lot of hair and dust Dyson left behind (but I believe any brand new vacuum will do this). Hopefully this will last for a while. Love the adjustable suction power on the hand wand, sometimes don't need the full power. Entire vacuum is intuitive, don't need to read a book to figure out how to use it. Love that attachments are carried on board. Canister volume seems pretty good and comparable to Dyson. Easy canister removal and dumping. Bigger area for hair to go without building up in the upper part of the canister (I always had to pull the hair out of the canister in my Dyson). Like the head light to see what is in front of the vacuum. Cons The head is 2 inches narrower than the Dyson, means more passes to cover the room. Replacing the wand after use requires a pretty firm slam into place to get it to lock back into position. In general, decent mid-priced vacuum, we bought it expecting it to be more of a disposable piece that should last 2-3 years. Given what you pay for Dyson for 5 years of use, this is about the same price. Hopefully we will get 3 years out of it. We have 2 dogs and 2 cats which are all in and out of the house. Our house is surrounded by dirt and heavy winds, so dirt settles on the floors and is tracked in and stomped into carpets. Vacuums have to work hard around here!
