I would recommend this unit.
By toddford000 on Reviewed in the United States on May 15, 2024
I purchased this Bluevua system in Nov 2022. I made the purchase specifically to: (i) save money from having to constantly purchase bottled water from the grocery store; and (ii) any bottled water delivery services available in my area were too expensive. I deliberately waited a long time before leaving a review because I wanted to be 100% certain of how this water filtration system worked - how well the machine operated, how consistently it performed, whether the taste of the water would remain consistent over time, and more importantly, what it would be like to change the filters. Having had this system for over a year, I strongly recommend this unit. I live in SoCal where the municipal water quality is such that a good filtration system is needed. First, the taste: I was always reluctant to buy a filtration system because I could never be sure of the taste, which I'm extremely sensitive to - it's the reason I always disliked Brita-type systems (which I've tried a few different ones) - the water always tasted vaguely weird and unpleasant ("turbidity" is the word I think some use). The Bluevua filtered water has the refreshing crispness that I like (it was its good taste that surprised me most). It continues to produce the same result the whole time I've been using it. Second, changing the filters: The instructions in the user manual are clear (there are also some instruction videos on YouTube as well); changing the different filters in and out has presented no confusion or problems; the filters last a nice amount of time - all four lasted a little over a year before the unit finally showed I needed to change some of them out. I think the cost of each of the filters is reasonable. Cleaning and care of the unit has been easy - wiping down the unit, washing the carafe, and washing the holding reservoir is simple and straightforward (just be sure to perform regular maintenance; I cleaning/wash everything about once every 3 or 4 months). Most importantly, I definitely achieved my previous stated goals with my purchase of this unit. The overall price of the unit is also reasonable and worth it if trying to find a cost-saving alternative. The only caution (but not a big deal) to mention is that, after each filtration cycle is complete, the holding reservoir has leftover water (which is normal). As the instructions say, you shouldn't try to reuse this water through another filtration cycle. I did, and you definitely notice a deterioration in taste. Instead, I use this leftover water to water plants, which has been great. I mention this in case you're located in an area where water-use bills might get high. In closing, if you're looking for a good, reliable, easy-to-use water filtration system that produces excellent results, you should definitely consider giving this system a try. Thanks for reading!

CHANGING MY HONEST REVIEW
By Charlie M. on Reviewed in the United States on April 1, 2024
WELL I WAS EXTREMELY HAPPY AT FIRST AND I POSTED A VERY GOOD REVIEW ABOUT THIS ITEM WITHOUT ANY COMPLAINTS BUT I HAD TO MAKE THE DECISION TO COME BACK HERE AND MAKE SOME IMPORTANT CHANGES FOR BUYERS TO BE AWARE OF BECAUSE WITHOUT GOOD QUALITY DRINKING WATER THERE IS NOT GOOD QUALITY HEALTH. I PURCHASED THE FILTER ON, March 19, 2024. AT FIRST THE WATER TASTED PERFECT AND I WAS USING THE MINERALIZER FOR A LITTLE OVER 6 MONTHS. I WAS THE ONLY PERSON USING THE FILTER SO IT WAS NOT BEING OVERUSED IN ANY WAY. I ORIGINALLY TESTED THE FILTERED WATER USING A BRAND NEW, ZeroWater TDSmeter-20 ZT-2 Electronic Water Tester. AT THE TIME I WAS SEEING A READING OF ABOUT 180ppm - 200ppm. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND WAS CONVINCE THAT THE MINERALS WERE LIKELY GIVING THE HIGHER READOUT. AFTER 6 MONTHS OF ADDING THE MINERALS, I REMOVED THE MINERALIZER ATTACHMENT. I THREW IT AWAY AND JUST CONTINUED DRINKING THE FILTERED WATER WITHOUT ADDING THE MINERALS. I DID NOT RE-TEST AT THE TIME BECAUSE I DID NOT REMEMBER WHERE I HAD STORED THE TESTER. A SHORT WHILE AFTER REMOVING THE MINERALIZER, I BEGAN TO NOTICE A STRANGE TASTE IN THE WATER BUT ONLY AT THE VERY BOTTOM OF THE PITCHER WHICH LED ME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT I LIKELY HAD SOMETHING THAT WAS SETTLING AT THE BOTTOM OF THE FILTERED WATER BUT I WAS UNSURE WHAT IT COULD BE... THEN IT STARTED HAPPENING MORE OFTEN AND OVER THE COARSE OF THE NEXT 6 MONTHS I COULD NOT EVEN DRINK THE END OF THE PITCHER BECAUSE IT WAS A TERRIBLE TASTE. SO I RECENTLY DECIDED TO SEARCH FOR MY TESTER AND MANAGED TO FIND IT AGAIN. AFTER TESTING THE FILTERED WATER, IT READS THE EXACT SAME NUMBERS FROM THE FIRST DAY OF USE. ABOUT ABOUT 180ppm - 200ppm SO I REALIZED THAT I HAD BEEN DRINKING DIRTY FILTERED WATER WITH UNWATED STUFF IN IT FOR A VERY LONG TIME... POSSIBLY EVEN FROM THE FIRST DAY WHEN I REASONED THIS TO BE THE MINERALS BEING ADDED. I STILL DO NOT KNOW IF THIS WAS LEACHING FROM THE FILTERS. I READ THE FOLLOWING ON GOOGLE.COM, Water filters can leach substances into the water they filter, particularly when the filter is old or not properly maintained. This leaching can introduce bacteria, chemicals, or even microplastics into the filtered water, potentially compromising its safety and quality. THE FILTERS ARE OVER A YEAR NOW BECAUSE I MADE THE AMAZON PURCHASE ON March 19, 2024. HOWEVER THIS STARTED HAPPENING WAY BEFORE A YEAR OF USING THE FILTER SYSTEM WITHOUT MINERALS. ANOTHER THING TO NOTE IS THAT MY LED PANEL IS NOT INDICATING THAT THE FILTERS NEED TO BE CHANGED YET WHICH SEEMS STRANGE TO ME SO MAYBE IT MIGHT NOT EVEN BE THE FILTERS. SO MY FINAL CONCLUSION IS THE FOLLOWING, I DON'T WANT TO BE DRINKING DIRTY FILTERED WATER BECAUSE THAT IS THE WHOLE POINT OF FILTERING IT. PEOPLE, DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH AND DO NOT TAKE MY WORD FOR IT. ACCORDING TO GOOGLE.COM, A TDS-PPM RECOMMENDED READOUT FOR REVERSE OSMOSIS FILTERED WATER IS LESS THAN 10ppm AND AN ACCEPTABLE RANGE OF NO MORE THAN 20ppm. SO I'M DECIDING NOW TO POSSIBLY GO WITH A WATER DISTILLER AND ADD MY OWN MINERALS SEPARATELY. I THINK ALOT OF THESE WATER FILTERS ARE HIT OR MISS AND THE ONES THAT DO WORK DON'T LAST VERY LONG. ALTHOUGH I DID READ THAT BLUEVUA HAS A QUALITY CONTROL CHECKLIST FOR ALL THEIR PRODUCTS. ANOTHER PROBLEM WITH THE BLUEVUA IS THAT THERE ARE LARGE AMOUNTS OF WATER THAT LEAK OUT AFTER REMOVING THE PITCHER TO STORE AWAY. YOU WILL NOTICE IN MY PICTURES THAT I HAD TO KEEP A FOLDED BUNCH OF PAPER TOWELS WHERE THE PITCHER SITS IN ORDER TO PREVENT PUDDLES... UNFORTUNATELY I'M JUST NOT ABLE TO GIVE THIS ITEM THE RATING THAT I ORIGINALLY HAD. SO I'M GOING FROM 5 STARS TO 3. AND I'M BEING NICE AND CONSERVATIVE WITH THAT BECAUSE I'M NOT SO HAPPY WITH IT AT ALL. I WILL SHARE SOME PICS OF, 1. TDS ppm READOUT 2. THE PUDDLE LEAK AREA 3. THE LED FILTER CHANGE PANEL
