Spin Master Games Sink N’ Sand

I can’t find an answer on a few rules that were immediately in question. It would be nice to know if 1) a player that was already eliminated can still grab the ruby if it falls through several turns after their elimination. 2) we played twice and both times one of the characters fell off the board. The rules are clear that the characters don’t need to remain standing, but don’t address the issue of them falling off an edge (not through the sand). Great game for young kids but my boys were fighting pretty quick about grabbing the ruby. My one boy was already eliminated and waiting and watching and we weren’t sure if he was even eligible to grab it to get back in. When the ruby fell he went for it and it resulted in one squeezing the others hand to get back in and the other in tears. Normal Brother stuff in many ways, but I didn’t love them having to race for the small gem. Sort of seems like a recipe for dust with young siblings. It was great with just me and one of the kids though. Just wish they specified whether an already eliminated player is even eligible to get the ruby or if it is just for the players still on the board.
