This vacuum cuts my cleaning routine in half and works great with animal hair.

I was hesitant to make this big purchase. I'm so glad that I did. I have 2 kids, a dog (Golden Retriever), a long-haired cat, and a construction working husband. Needless to say, our house gets tracked up easily. We have a ranch style house. The main floor is 2500 sq/ft. Only the bedrooms have carpet. Everything else is vinyl flooring. Before purchasing this, I would vacuum everything then mop and bucket. It was so much work with going back and forth rinsing out the mop and moving chairs back and forth. It was always a big, long chore I was never excited about doing. I have been looking at these machines for a while and wasn't ready to invest. Mostly due to reading reviews about animal hair. I have read a lot that said it doesn't work well for that. I will say with a dog and cat that shed it does work well. I do vacuum the corners were the hair likes to collect in little dust piles first with our cordless vacuum just because I don't want to have issues with it. Thats a quick easy thing for me to do first. Then I used this vacuum and mop around the house. The first time I used it I knew our floors were dirty. It was winter and the kids and dog would track in the salt and dirt from the driveway. So, when the smart function on the machine said the floors were dirty, I would go slow over the floors and the machine goes into turbo mode. I continue over the spot until the light on the top will turn green. This used a lot of the battery because of how dirty my floors were. The battery didn't make it halfway through the house. I was a little disappointed, but I do realize the machine was running hard. I put it on the charger, and it takes a long time to charge up. I did the rest of the house later that day and it worked great. I was so surprised at how well it cleaned the floors. I like the fact that it has a dirty water and clean water tank. That way you're not using the same water to clean the floors and push the same crud around. With our larger area to be cleaned I have to empty the tank out about 5 to 6 times during moping. It's very easy to do. I dump the dirty water tank in the toilet. It has a hair collector/strainer at the top of the tank to collect all the bigger debris that gets in the tank. This is nice to just grab what's on the top and toss it in the trash and dump the rest. When you are finished you run the self-cleaning cycle and dump out the tank. It comes with a bristle brush to clean the tanks out which is really nice. I set them to the side to dry out, so I don't get a mold/musty/stinky tank. I also take the roller off the bottom and set it up right to dry evenly. The base has storage attachments to keep everything together, so nothing gets lost. I find myself moping the floors more often and house is staying cleaner. When I keep up on the moping I can do the whole house on one battery charge. If I wait a while and the floors get really dirty, I do have to stop and recharge the machine up and finish the rest after it's done charging. This works great for my dog and cat hair. I haven't had a problem with clogging or it not picking up the hair. The base just goes by a plug in our locker room out of site from everything and is sturdy. I'm so glad I purchased this, and I use it often. I highly recommend it if you have a large area of flooring that you vacuum and mop. It cuts your time in half.

Okay so this is disappointing that I was going to review the Combo Tineco but it pulls up my review on the expensive Tineco I bought last year. I guess you need to be aware of which Tineco someone is reviewing; the performance is NOT the same!. I am feeling very ripped of with the combo that was advertised as multi-surface because reading the instruction it says to not use it on carpet like my other Tineco. Yet directly 8n this as it boosts carpet as a surface to use it on. Also, this model doesn’t have a suction mode which is very valuable when you spill something. Compared to the other Tineco this isn’t even close to the same. If that was a 9 out of 10 then this one is a 4 out of 10. Review on the expensive one not the cheaper combo: The job it does and the speed I can clean things up is what I absolutely love. It is very lightweight and I can buy around the house quickly and it does a beautiful job…for the most part. When you hit rugs with super low pile it has a hard time grabbing hair from the dogs it just rolls them around and creates a ball of hair instead of vacuuming it up so I still need my heavy vacuum to really clean. But the biggest issue is it doesn’t hold much water. Every 2 minutes it tells me to fill the water, or empty the dirty water or clean the brush. It’s annoying that I cannot clean even one room without having to stop 2-3 times to do one of those three things. Maybe if you live in NY in a shoebox apartment, this would be fine, but out here in the country where we have normal sized houses, it’s a PITA. But I put up with it because it works. I will toss it out when the next tool comes out that can last a bit longer because it does drive me crazy. One other thing I don’t like is the place it puts solids that it picks up. They are wet and gross and the only way to dump that is getting your hands full of muck. That little piece the wet muck sits on has fallen in the trash several times too and I can see that if you lose that little 10 cent piece you’ve just rendered the entire machine useless. I do not see anywhere to buy a spare! Update after 3 months of usage. I had to change the filter as it was really dirty. So feelings about it still remain. The programming of the machine is more about a routine than a need. If I clean the floors then dump the dirty water and then put it on to recharge, it will still tell me to dump the dirty water and it won’t shut up until you (go through the motion) unlatch it and latch it again. Make sure you empty that dirty container because unlike a vacuum if you leave that wet muck in there things hatch and grow. The dirty container being plastic holds a smell that is really bad. When you turn it on and air blows it smells bad. The number one thing that grosses me out is having to use your hands to empty the waste in the wet dirty area, it’s gross especially if you’ve picker up bugs, spiders and flies off the floor. While I love how well it cleans that enough to make me never want to use it again. It complains about emptying, filling changing something about every minute so that’s my next pet peeve. While you’ll look at the dirty tank and say wow that’s big, I’m here to say NO it’s not because it can only be filled up about 1/3 of the way and then it stops working. It is NOT a smart machine! It just has a routine it expects you to follow and if you do things out of order it will still tell you to do it in its chosen order. Everytime you put it on the charge it wants to clean the machine. The issue with that is it will go though a tank of cleaner and then tell you to empty the dirty tank before and after the cleaning then you will have to fill the solution again because it used it all cleaning the machine. The machine cleaning makes the roller sopping wet so you may want some newspaper or paper towels to ring it out a bit. It also doesn’t clean behind the roller or down the tube of the dirty water tank; you’ll need the brush provided to do that. One other thing: pet fur doesn’t get tangled up in the roller or wheels but you do need to take 3 seconds take the roller off and Yang all the hair out from behind the roller that it catches (yep gross job #2). I think I’m going to look for some tongs that I can clip to this device and maybe that will take care of touching the gross stuff. It still cleans great! But the machine is in my opinion “high maintenance”.
