UPDATE: We have continued to use this,but we're increasingly concerned about the strange plastic or chemical odor that it emits. We suspect it's a health hazard and will discard this appliance.UPDATE: The instructions say to turn knob to off if you need to open the air fryer while it is running. I did that today. The knob cracked and came off in my hand. I had to unplug it.Planned obsolecense at its most brilliant--the product has a 90 day warranty and today is exactly 4 months from the date I ordered it. DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT unless you want to try to repair/replace a broken plastic knob.The air frier is a good size for two people. It cooks the food well. I would give it 5 stars, but the lining looks like some kind of Teflon, not ceramic. I have gotten no response from Aria when I asked what chemicals the lining is made of, so I have to assume that they don't want to admit it's Teflon. We do not use Teflon, so I will have to send this back unless they come through with the answer in the next few days.I never heard from the company, so I did more research and could not find a foolproof way to determine whether a piece of cookware is coated with Teflon or ceramic. I did find some evidence that ceramic could indeed have this Teflon-like appearance. Meanwhile, the plastic smell has dissipated somewhat. With some misgivings, we are continuing to use this air fryer for now.
