Works great to calm my cat
By Birdgirl on Reviewed in the United States on February 16, 2023
My cat has had horrible separation anxiety anytime I even attempt to go anywhere, even if it is just on the porch ever since I got her. She gets in the window and starts doing the cat equivalent of howling and clawing at the window and just has a meltdown. I bought these collars hoping it would help. They arrived very quickly after purchasing, you get 3 collars that last 1 month each. So the value is really good in comparison, but what I wasn’t expecting was to love how it smells. I figured it would be something that might make me keep my car at a distance, but putting it on her, she smells so good that I can cuddle with her without having to deal with a potent scent. They are actually really long when you get them out to be able to fit all cat necks and they are soft enough to cut the excess off with a pair of scissors. My cat is also basically a Houdini when it comes to getting out of collars and harnesses, but this one hasn’t come off the entire time since I first put it on. It’s loose enough she can breathe with a little excess, but the grip is so strong that basically only a person can take it off. The only real downside here is that it may not be safe for outdoor cats because it may not break or come off if they get hung up somewhere, which is the purpose of a breakaway collar. It’s not exactly the prettiest collar by any means, but it really helps. Now, when I step onto the porch, she just gets in the window to watch me. She doesn’t freak out as bad whenever we go to work or to the store. She still meows at us, but it isn’t howling or clawing and panicking. We haven’t gotten her fixed just yet, but it even helps calm a cat in heat to a degree. It doesn’t get rid of all of the symptoms of heat, but she isn’t being spastic about trying to get outside quite as much as she did before we got the collars. If your pet has anxiety of any kind, this collar does the trick. She still gets the “zoomies”, but for the most part, she doesn’t have a ton of excess excitable energy either, if that is the sort of purpose you want to have with this collar. I don’t want to unseal a 2nd collar before it is time to replace the one she has on to show the length of a new one, but I may update the reply later in the month to show a sizing scale for those worried about how it would fit. All in all, it is a really wonderful product.

Not effective for aggressive cats
By Rachel on Reviewed in the United States on January 12, 2025
This didn't work for my cat with his aggression towards other cats. I was hopeful that this would calm him enough to not attack my kitten, but he's had it on for a week now and he still tried to attack her through the door. It smells great, but may not be fully effective for aggression regarding other pets in the home

Product Review: Calming Collar for CatsRating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)When we decided to introduce a new kitten into our home, we were concerned about how our older cat, Bella, would react. Bella has always been a bit territorial, and we feared the introduction might lead to a lot of stress and aggression. After doing some research, we decided to try the Calming Collar for Cats, and it turned out to be a game-changer!Easy to Use: The collar was very straightforward to use. It was easy to adjust to fit both Bella and our new kitten, Lucie, comfortably. The instructions were clear, and within minutes, both cats were wearing their collars.Immediate Effect: Almost immediately, we noticed a difference in Bella’s behavior. Normally, she would be hissing and growling at any new presence, but with the collar on, she seemed much more relaxed and curious rather than defensive. Lucie, being a new kitten, was naturally more anxious, but the collar seemed to help her settle in much faster than we expected.Smooth Introduction: Over the next few days, the change was remarkable. There were no major fights or aggressive encounters, just some mild hissing which is to be expected. The pheromones from the collar seemed to calm both cats, allowing them to gradually accept each other’s presence. By the end of the first week, Bella and Lucie were even starting to play together and share the same space without any issues.Long-Lasting: Each collar lasts for about 30 days, which is perfect for the initial introduction period. We’ve decided to keep using them for a while longer to ensure the transition remains smooth.Safe and Comfortable: I was pleased to find that the collars are made from natural, non-toxic materials, and both cats seemed comfortable wearing them.Overall Experience: The Calming Collar for Cats exceeded our expectations and made what could have been a stressful and chaotic introduction process into a much more manageable and peaceful experience. I highly recommend this product to anyone facing a similar situation. It truly works wonders!Pros: • Easy to use and adjust • Immediate calming effect • Aided in a smooth and peaceful introduction • Long-lasting (30 days) • Safe and non-toxicCons: • None that I encounteredIf you’re introducing new cats into your home, give the Calming Collar for Cats a try. It made a world of difference for us!

We purchased these for one of our older cats who is, simply put, crazy. He’s always been a little special, but over the past three years has been a ball of anxiety and stress. Over the last few years we’ve tried calming drops, calming pills and a variety of things to try to help him calm down and be less anxious. Nothing has worked as well as this collar. Unlike drops or pills this is super easy to use and very convenient. The collars are very long and I imagine would fit the neck of any cat. We trim a good 3 inches off when using this on our 10 pound cat. My children and husband all have many allergies to scented items like candles or air fresheners. Although the scent of this collar is noticeable, it’s light and pleasant and does not trigger any allergic reactions for my family. Since my cat has been wearing the collar, he’s noticeably calmer and has even gained back a little bit of weight. To be clear, he still pretty weird, but the nervousness and anxiety seem to be greatly reduced. He gets along better with the other cats in the household now, is much happier to be held or petted, and just generally seems better adjusted. Overall, we are extremely satisfied with our purchase! The cost is very reasonable for the amount of collars that you get and I feel they are a much better deal than using drops or pills. I highly recommend this item for anxious cats.

Initially calm kitty

Our youngest cat has been over grooming himself to the point he lost fur on his back. I am uncertain if he is stressed over the dog (who wants to chase him) or if one of our older kitties is bullying him.I decided to try a calming collar. This one had good reviews. After putting collar on, he was very calm for about an hour or two. He seemed fine, so I left it on him overnight. The next morning I noticed he had two bald spots around his neck. I immediately took the collar off. Now I have 2 unused collars and one open one. I'll just save for vet trips and place inside the cat carrier. We had an older cat that passed at 17. This cat had the same issue with over grooming. I made him his own hoodie and he wore it until his hair would grow back. It worked well. He wasn't a fan, but he adapted.I was going to give this product a 4 star rating, but knocked it down to 3 as happypetx is trying to buy a 5 star review.

We take a 6-7 hour drive with our cat twice a year. She’s a nervous Nelly and without prescribed medication, she cries and shakes the whole time. I gave this a try and, lo and behold, she was great! She was so calm, that we let her out of her carrier and she hung out in the back, on top of the trunk covers watching traffic out the window. We’ve used this 6 times now. We find that it takes her the full hour to calm down completely while using this. The ‘collar’ is adjustable but the part you don’t use in the actual collar hangs out a little awkwardly if your cat has a small neck. This item is a one time use item for us. After removing it, she stays in her calm state for another hour before returning to normal. We tried to extend the longevity by putting it in a zip lock bag when we are done and trying to use it again by the end of the weekend, but it just doesn’t have the same effect on our cat.
Seems to help our hyper anxious cat! Highly recommend it!

We have a few cats. One is the sister of another one, who is the calmer and mellow one of the pair. Her sister, the smaller of the two is the skittish, spiteful, hyper nervous of the two. But we love her. She is adorable. She licks and bites herself until she harms herself. She is on prescription medicine but it only take the edge off. We also put a few calming diffusers around the house, but this seems to help her even more where today we noticed she is growing hair back where she has continually licked it bald. And she's only been wearing the collar for a few days. Highly recommend giving it a try. We're glad we did.
