Absolutely beautiful watch
By Placeholder on Reviewed in the United States on May 19, 2024
It looks gorgeous. I’ve gotten many compliments on it. Not tooooo flashy but still definitely sticks out. The color is similar to the Blue iPhone 15 Pro Max but better. It does look better with proper lighting, much like the iPhone but it doesn’t NEED crazy good lighting to look really awesome like the iPhone mentioned above. I hope this comparison makes sense to everyone reading. I would absolutely buy this watch again for myself or as a gift. I will say the date is hard to set and the instructions were eh… were there instructions? Not really, I don’t believe. Not much of if so. I suppose I’ll just contact Movado directly about it, but it should’ve been more clear. Perhaps they assume someone buying a roughly thousand dollar watch would understand better but I think sometimes the date gets offset by itself for whatever reason. No big deal though, I love the watch 😁

Watch Returned. Discovered a Dealbreaker. Watch Impossible 2 Read in Low-Light.
By ganymede on Reviewed in the United States on November 30, 2024
First, I recorded my thoughts on this watch in a video also, and I suggest you review it to see first-hand that my headline is on the mark. It was my first video review ever and it’s a little long, but you can scroll through it you do not want to listen to me for over three minutes. If, however, you want to start with a written review then I shall leave one here. I purchased this blue-on-blue Movado watch from their Bold series. I was excited to purchase the watch because I thought this particular blue color was striking. I was also pleased to buy it during Amazon’s Black Friday Weeklong Event 2024 because it was marked down to $708.00. That is down from its normal price of $1,000.00, so I was saving a nice amount of money. I received this Movado watch on Black Friday afternoon, and I was terribly excited to see it up close and personal. It looked beautiful in the box, and I quickly undid the latch and slipped the watch on my wrist. It was a ideal fit. Therefore, I would not need to have a jeweler shorten the band links. Perfect. As I admired the watch, I tried out the three dials it has on it, and quickly set the time and date to the right settings. I liked the weight of the watch on my wrist. I was happy with my new time piece. I had had a similar Omega watch in blue that was stolen right off my wrist at gun point some months ago, so this similarly-styled Movado time piece was a gift to myself. A couple minutes after placing the watch on my wrist, I walked into my bedroom that was dimly lit with only one light on, and I casually looked down at the watch only to realize to my surprise I could not see the time on the watch. Even with one light fixture on in the room, I could not make out anything on the watch face. It would appear that Movado made this watch without adding anything to the watch whatsoever that would illuminate the face of the watch, I thought, bewildered by the idea. How could Movado not add some type of chemical coating to the dials that would make them glow in low lighting? To say I was disappointed is an understatement. For me, and maybe for you, this would be a dealbreaker. I could not imagine having a watch that I would not be able to read at night outside or on any kind of low-light setting. I could not understand how Movado dropped the ball on something so important. If you watch my video, I clearly show you how the watch looks in the low light and what it looks like without a bright light source. It’s a pretty damming evidence of a major fault with the watch. That is all I have to say on the matter. If you do not have issue with the low-light issue and can wear this watch only during the daytime, I would recommend the watch because it is otherwise a beautiful watch. I hope this review helps you make an informed choice when buying this Movado watch. UPDATE: Perplexed at how Movado could make such a beautiful watch without making it possible to read in low-light settings, I decided to call Movado before I returned the watch. I spoke with a Movado customer service representative, and long story short, the watch is supposed to glow in low or no light situations. Apparently, the dials and the lines that mark the hours are in fact coated with some proprietary chemical the glows indefinitely. No light source is necessary to “charge” the chemicals that make the watch glow. This is a feature on some watches, so I wanted to clarify the point. The representative had me go into various lighted settings in my home, but, sadly, nothing changed. I could never see the dials on the watch face in any low-lighting situations, and, obviously, in an almost dark room, it was just a dark watch face. After the tests, the Movado representative told me to absolutely return the watch because it was designed to glow and be read in low to no light situations, which makes perfect sense. I asked if the watch was a possible counterfeit, to which the rep said was unlikely since the watch was sold and fulfilled by Amazon (at the time I purchased the watch), no third-party was involved in the transaction I bought another watch between the time I posted this review and called Movado. I need to decide if I will buy this watch again and hope I have far better luck with it than last time, or should I keep this new watch, which isn’t that beautiful blue color of this Movado, but I like it anyway. I am not sure yet how to proceed. In additional research, I found that other reviewers also cited problems reading their blue or black Movado watches in low light. Again, I hope this clarification helps you decide how to proceed with whether or not to purchase this watch. UPDATE 2: I decided not to buy this Movado watch again, even though it is still selling at the fabulous price of $708.00. I did not anticipate much improvement (if any) with reading it in low light.
