PELONIS Oscillating Table Fan 12-Inch

I ordered this fan based on the good reviews, and as far as blowing air powerfully, it does the job. But, perhaps a little too well. I originally bought this for my home gym which has it's own building in my backyard, due to the stale air inside. While this fan does the job, it is not suitable for the bedroom or if you have any desire to hear literally anything else in the room the fan is in. I tried to use this fan while watching Netflix, Hulu, HBO etc and even with my JBL speakers on full blast at the highest volume, I had to hold the JBL speaker to my ear to even hear dialogue from any movie or show I watched because this fan is so dang loud it drowns out the sound of everything else. I tried moving the fan - on the lowest setting - across the room, and it was still too loud and overpowered any music played and all the voices in any show I watched were inaudible over the noise of the fan. It is too loud. Back to the gym, placing the fan in my gym, it will blow the air around well, but if you work out to music, you can't hear the music over the sound of the fan. This fan is basically good for one thing if it's in your bedroom: white noise while you sleep. You can't use it if you need to hear anything in the room at all, music, or streaming media. But if you're going to sleep, sure, turn it on. And if you are not going to be in the room it blows air in, I'm sure it's great for circulation. But it is not a multi-purpose fan.
