I have found depending on the mattress, that depends on the pillow you will need. This is my favorite pillow and I have tried literally dozens. Each “pillow” actually comes with two. One for firmness and height if you want it and the other is very squishy so you can shape that puppy just the way you want it under your neck, giving a lot of options……On one bed, I use both pillows, on another, just the squisher. Then I use the thicker one to prop my book up on when I read in bed. Happy camper here!

Soft enough

I was excited to receive this pillow as I have so much trouble with my neck. It felt very nice when I first put my head down. It was a good angle for reading. After sleeping on it the first night my neck was very sore and I realized using both units inside were too much for me. I then switched to the heavier single unit and that just seemed too squishy with little support. I had my husband try it and he switched back to his old pillow like I did. We had it too long to return. It's ok for an extra pillow or if you need to use it behind another pillow but overall I was disappointed. I am very petite. It may be great for a larger person.
