It appears that you can “scan” the food and it will tell you the name, color, number, etc, but it doesn’t. The scanner just cycles through a few generic sounds. If it just did the DOOT scan sound it would be slightly better but we expected the scanner to actually do something. For the toy, the food has to be pushed into this very tight little clip which is very hard for my 1.5 year old to do and so she gets very frustrated. Toy does seem durable however and she loves the song (even though it’s a the same song over and over with just different food names). She knows it from the video so she loves to sing along. She also likes putting things in the drop door to count. The other features are kind of pointless for her. Maybe better for older kids.
